Anyone ever use Avis to return & pick up a car at Hilton at WDW!

I am still trying to figure out our transportation issues. We need transportation from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to DCL and then DCL to airport. The cheapest option is to rent a car and return & pick up at Hilton at WDW and Raddison at Port Canaveral. This would allow us to go to the grocery store both ways. The other option is to use Disney transportation. The most expensive option is using Happy Limo (more expensive than the cheapest by $100).

So, what do you think? Should we have the convenience of door to door service by using Disney or Happy Limo (Happy Limo includes the grocery stop). Or should we use a rental car. Is it convenient to return the car at Hilton Hotel? We are staying at Poly. We are also traveling with 2 children.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We just did this two weeks ago. We fley into tampa, rented from airport from avis, returned to hilton in DD (avis) and picked up another car later that day, to keep from paying the 50.00 more because rental period was 8 days and 3 hours. It was easy, but raining, you need to walk back to dd to catch the bus to your resort. We just went to the movies and killed a few hours and picked up another car. All in all it cost 155.00 for 8 days with discounts. We also did avis last year for the cruise, all with smoothly. There was two families with 8 total, we rented two mid size cars, airport/port/port/airport. Costs us under 100.00 each family.
