"Ahhh, Salam and good evening to you worthy friends...please, please come closer...agh, too close, a little too close."
There, now welcome to my very first pre-trip (and later) trip report!
:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:
I'll be covering about a month in pre-trip and then sadly only a 4 day vacation to Disney World starting on Sept. 23rd and ending on Sept 27th 2009. But...short as it is, this vacation is VERY SPECIAL.
Why? Because this is a Girls-Only trip to WDW with me and my three best friends - one who's never been to Disney! No husbands or boyfriends allowed! We get together about once a year for a fabulous vacation and so it's always a very special time for us.
Yes I know, everyone thinks their vacation is very special, but mine is filled with hot women and not everybody can say that! :rotfl:
So, if you like days by the pool, humor, eating, drinking, quotes from Disney movies, MNSSHP and just general merriment, this is the trip report for you!!!
DISCLAIMER: If you are interested in a very masculine point of view please don't subscribe to this report, believe me, you'll really hate it...why do you think the husbands and boyfriends are staying home? It's a given that we'll be operating from a very girly estrogen-filled point of view...that is what this trip is all about ;)
THE CAST
We are four women in our late twenties. Names have been changed to protect the guilty. :lmao: This is my first time posting photos so hopefully this will work, I know that Photobucket is the the typical m-o around here, but I'm going against the grain and using Picasa by Google for my image uploads *crosses fingers*

Jasmine, the Disney first-timer....27 years is really too long to have to wait, what is wrong w/ her parents?!
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpMu7pq1_4I/AAAAAAAAIuE/IjE5QrZ-Bcw/s800/shanhead2.jpg
Belle
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpMu77mAWaI/AAAAAAAAIuI/7fiKg4mxwcs/s800/liz%20face.jpg
And Tink, that's me!
I'm sure this will be a huge surprise to everyone, but I'm the planner of the group :goodvibes So basically everything on this trip has been planned by me with a little input from the girls, but not much...which of course I don't mind since I want to plan it all anyhow!:rolleyes1
THE THEME SONG
I know not every trip has a theme, but this one does. It's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun because, well, we do. :) and to make it Disney, it's the Miley Cyrus version!
THE TICKETS
I'm an Annual Passholder and also the resident Disney-freak on this trip (and PROUD of it!!!)
Ariel, Belle and Jasmine have 3-day Magic Your Way passes w/o the Park Hopper Option...we decided to do this for cost reasons mostly, but also since we have such a short time for the trip, we thought 1 park each day would be enough.
We also have tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for Sept 25th.
THE RESORT
We're staying in 2 standard rooms at the beautiful Caribbean Beach Resort. I'm using a passholder discount for my room and the other is full price w/ the free dining deal.
I've stayed there before, and this time we've requested the Jamaica village - we're not using the busses and think the quieter village will be nice...plus I love the blue and yellow colors of those buildings, so cute!!
THE DINING
We're all on the Disney Dining Plan - regular version.
Here are our ADR's, we pretty much got whatever I, um I mean we, wanted.
Sept 23 - O'hana dinner
Sept 24 - Restaurant Marrakesh dinner
Sept 25 - The Wave dinner
Sept 26 - Boma dinner
"But this is no ordinary Trip! It once changed the course of four young women's lives, four young women who like this trip report are more than what they seem....diamonds in the rough."
:tink:And that's the start of my report. I hope you tune in...I'll be updating w/ more plans soon.
Ten points to whoever knows what movie I've been quoting (or paraphrasing if you want to get picky)!!

I thought I'd give you some more details about the cast for this trip...and put off work for another 30 minutes! ;)
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpP5lLPy1eI/AAAAAAAAIvk/-ddNcr5Drfk/s400/FH000004-2.jpg
Once upon a time....four girls met at college in Virginia. They became instant friends and were roommates for many years. Now they're all grown up and while most of them still live in Virginia, one of them has gone to a kingdom far far away (aka Florida). Yeah we live far apart, but we are still besties!
From left to right on that picture is Belle, Jasmine, Ariel and Tink (me)
Belle is an interior designer. She loves Disney almost as much as I do. She has a laid back personality and really is one of the sweetest people I know. Belle got married about a year and a half ago to her Prince Charming....here's us at her wedding, Jasmine has a pretty bad sunburn!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SEXwPS3vA_I/AAAAAAAACEs/pPmy0rhCvk4/s400/IMG_1461.jpg
Jasmine manages a bar/restaurant and bartender extraordinaire. She's also very laid back and likes to sleep late (and I, um I mean we, want to do rope drop! eeeks!) She's not always good at checking her email, but she's there when you really need her. She has NEVER been to WDW :scared1: Jasmine is single.
Ariel is a real estate agent and leads a pretty busy life. She is more of a type-A personality but is a bit of a party girl really...so watch out for her. She hasn't been to WDW since she was a small child, she doesn't remember too much so this is kind of like a first visit for her too. Ariel has a boyfriend.
And what about me? I own my own internet business on the gulf coast of Florida (Siesta Key anyone?) I LOVE Disney & am an annual passholder so I go as much as I can. I'm married and I have a wonderful Prince Charming of my own (he looks more like Gaston though lol) and a dog that I love like a baby. I'm sooo excited about this trip, I can't believe it's finally getting closer!
We've taken lots of trips together as a group. Here's us in Mexico a few years ago...what's up with those small drinks?
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpP5ler4o1I/AAAAAAAAIvo/y9lGOsdHo8Y/s400/CIMG1483.JPG
But we've never gone to WDW together...so it should be interesting to see everyone's inner child come out!

I've just been a lurker here on the trip reports board, but I saw your pre-trip report and since I also went to college in Virginia, I thought I had to say "hi"!
Let's hear more about your trip - it sounds like fun.
And, are your quotes from Aladdin?? Just a guess.

YAY!! I'm excited to read more about your trip! That is so great you're able to get together with your girlfriends and vacataion once a year! I'm SO jealous!
I used to work for the airlines and a girl I worked with was getting married. A bunch of us took a weekend trip to Orlando and had her bachlorette party at Pleasure Island and played at Disney, it was SOOO much fun! It wasn't my BFF's though, that would have been really special!
I look forward to reading more. :surfweb:

And you're absolutely right! Those quotes are from Aladdin! 10 points for you!

:welcome:Thanks for stopping by!
It is hard for us to coordinate the get-togethers w/ jobs and husbands, but I guess we know that if we don't do it we might fall out of touch and that would be terrible!
That sounds like one fun bachelorette party  Disney is such a special place to spend time together.
Oh, and I saw your little girl in your trip report - she is adorable!

Gotta work now, but I'll update tonight w/ our day-by-day plans and the details on my ongoing internal struggle about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party....stay tuned.

So here's our rough plans for the first day "on property"
Day One, Sept 23
- Tink drives from Sarasota, FL to Orlando MCO Airport in the Tinkerbell Taxi (aka Honda Accord with disney stickers on it) to pick up the girls who all had early flights and will arrive around 11 am :drive:
Everyone is flying in on the same flight - which took a lot of tricky maneuvering from me and the airtran.com website btw! So I'll just pick them up in the terminal. One little glitch is that I'm not sure where the MCO Airport is yet, I'll have to do a test run next time I'm at the World. ;)
I've told the girls not to pack too heavy b/c we'll have 4 suitcases and groceries/supplies for our rooms all in the trunk of my little honda accord...we'll see how this works out or if girls will have to hold their luggage on their laps!!
- We all head to the CBR and see if we can check into our rooms
*crosses fingers* I hope our rooms are ready for check-in around 12-1pm which is probably when we'll arrive.
- Hit the pool and work on our tans
Now the fun starts!!! We'll change into our bathingsuits, slap on some sunscreen and hit that fabulous CBR pool. I can't wait to try the waterslides!!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpWfmr5sVEI/AAAAAAAAIwE/etg2PccrCMw/s400/Caribbean%20Beach%20Resortpool.jpg
- Lunch at Old Port Royale
We'll probably just grab a bite to eat at the CBR food court. It's kinda cute in there like a Caribbean market, so that's fun.
- Grab drinks at Tambu Lounge & Watch fireworks from Poly beach :drinking1
I'm looking forward to this almost as much as anything else. I can't wait to sit there with a tropicaly drink in my hand and watch Wishes from the Poly beach! Paradise!!:cool2:
- Dinner at O'hana
Our ADR is for 8:30, I hope that gives us enough time to watch most of the fireworks and head back into the Great Ceremonial House for check-in. I am soo looking forward to introducing my friends to dumplings, chicken wings, shrimp and oh yes, bread pudding at O'hana. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I know I look small, but folks I can really put away some food....especially that bread pudding!
- Maybe minigolf at Winter Summerland
If we can move after our feast at O'hana, we might go do some minigolf at the Winter Summerland course. That is, if I can find it...that little course always seems so hard to find!
And after all that we'll head back to the CBR and talk until the wee hours, um, I mean get a good nights rest before hitting the parks the next day! :)

I went to American University in DC. Is there a drink that you're looking for at the Polenesian bar? Lapu lapu is the best

Vegas sounds fun!! I've never been there, but always wanted to go. I think we'll have to put it in the "to do" for another girls trip...what happens in Vegas...
Totally understand about not being able to go w/o kids --- all of us are child-less and I know that can only last another year or two probably ;) so this is perfect timing!
Yeah, we're going to have to limit the alcohol intake b/c I want to get to rope drop!! But I know the day after we do Epcot might be a little rough...there are just so many fun drinks to try! :)
I'm planning on updating later this evening, but now I gotta go get something to eat at Leeroy Selmons - yum yum barbeque!!

I was going through all of my favorite Disney websites and I came across a link in my favorites to create your own Disney parade courtesy of the Disney website...I just couldn't resist. :rolleyes1
So I created a personalized Disney parade for my girls trip - it is really quite hilarious to see us all on that big float, what am I talking about? You should see it for yourselves!!!
http://www.mymagicalparade.com/25966
If that doesn't make you crack a smile, I don't know what will!!! We have some kickin' dance moves on that float and our outfits, wow :lmao:
Highly recommend playing around w/ it and creating your own personalized parade. You can do it here: http://www.mymagicalparade.com

It was just really really good!! Really fruity. I know it had a not so Disney name. Something with screw in it, LOL! The server told me that they had to name it something disney friendly, lol! I just forget.

But not in an endearing way. :lmao: Whatev.
That pic of the CBR pool is gorgeous! I think we may stay there again during our next trip in Oct/Nov next year :goodvibes
Oh, and yes. If you haven't ever had a Lapu Lapu. Please do it! Seriously!! They are soooo good.

Now I know just one of the places where I've seen your posts...you did a dining report for the Wave right? I read it & it helped me decide to go there. Belle is probably most excited about the Wave, she's really into organic food and stuff like that.
We are SUPER excited now...it took the other girls a little longer than me of course, but its so close now that they are starting to catch a little of my pre-trip excitement.
Seriously, when I look at my countdown ticker I get so excited I could pee my pants....then I remember I was potty trained about 27 years ago and I go to the restroom like a nice young lady :rotfl2:

:welcome: Heather, thanks for going against all of your natural instincts and signing on! I hope we don't disappoint you!
Yeah, I wouldn't exactly say that they love Disney quite the way I do, but they do trust me enough to make the vacation plans pretty much every time we get together....which again I don't mind since I do like the power:stir: he he he
Belle is probably the one who likes Disney almost as much as me, but really I think that with the plans we have, they will all be begging to do it again next year by the time I'm done w/ them!
I've stayed at the CBR before (more on that later) and I like it a lot. People complain that its "too big" but I don't mind a 5-7 minute walk to go get lunch...really it makes me feel better about all of that cake and icecream and pie that I'll eat for dessert.
Ahhhh yes, the infamous Lapu Lapu....I think we'll have to order at least one of these - we're sharing types, so we will probably all have a little of each other's drinks. Lapu Lapu and the Screw-something (lol) are both on the list.

A trip to Disney with your best friends – PRICELESS!
When I took all this stuff outside to photograph, I think that it’s really sunk in to my husband that I’m taking this trip report very seriously…yes, I’ve taken my Disney crazy to a whole new level now. ::yes::
Anyway, there are a few more things that I’d like to purchase, maybe another drink mixer, but I have most of the essentials. What do you think?
I’m also dying to buy a new hair straightener for this trip b/c my hair stylist just taught me how to do waves w/ a straightening iron and my current one kind of bites. What I’d really like is one of those beautiful T3 irons, but the $160 price tag is holding me back big time…I mean, me & my husband could eat at O’hana like 2.6 times for that kind of money!
:tinker: Next update will be our plans for Day two…

Okay, so I know I said that I'd be updating w/ our plans for Day 2 of the trip, but ReyasMommy brought up Winnie the Pooh, and so its time that I must tell you about the 5th person who's going on our trip.
The background of the story is that my mother bought be a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal when I was 1 1/2 years old and it was love at first sight :lovestruc
As the years went on, Winnie got a little thinner and somehow lost his signature red t-shirt (don't ask me! my sister probably lost it!:rolleyes1) These days poor little Pooh is also missing his lips and his eyebrows are just barely hangin' on...but we've remained inseparable.
Yep through high school and college and marriage and all, my good pal Winnie is still with me.
Some might say that sleeping with a stuffed animal past age 12 is a little weird, but to those I say --- I'm not weird, I'm quirky and that's TOTALLY different!!!:lmao:
Anyhow, in the past few years, that tubby little cubby has done a fair bit of traveling. Me and my husband have made a little game out of photographing Winnie in different places. *These photos have not been photoshopped, we really are that weird, um, I mean quirky!! :rotfl2:

Yep that was a little Sharpay there...I love HSM!!!
It was hard to get a girls trip together, but I think part of us knows that if we don't do something every year, we might lose touch since we all live in different cities.
So here are my park day plans, I'll be posting more details later:
Wed 9/23- resort
Thurs 9/24- Epcot (I know, I know, MK is a better 1st day 1st time park, but I have my reasons!)
Fri 9/25 - MK and MNSHHP
Sat 9/26 - AK
Are you at any of the same parks on the same days?

On another shocking coming from waaaay left field note, my husband knocked my socks off the other night by suggesting that we do a 14 day Disney cruise from Port Canaveral to Barcelona Spain in April 2010.:scared1: It's only $999 per person for 14 days, so that's pretty reasonable for Disney cruises. Anyway, we're not 100% sure, but there's a good chance that we'll be going on that trip!! Very excited about this possibility!!!:woohoo:

We've never done one of the cruises but I would LOVE to do that some day. I'm sure they are a blast.
Actually we got to the park and realized that Spectromagic wasn't showing on that day! :sad2: And get this....about an hour after we get there, it starts POURING down rain - like serious rain that makes big puddles so even if you have an umbrella your feet get wet! :earboy2:
But we did bring umbrellas so we just did what we could in the rain - the tiki room, country bears jamboree, it's a small world, haunted mansion and pirates otc. It finally let up as we were heading towards Main St. We went to the bakery and I got a hugenormous slice of carrot cake (it was GOOD.) Then we were about to leave and noticed the Main St. vehicles were running so we rode the old timey car down the street and then we left.
The good news about the rain is it reminded me to bring umbrellas on this girls trip :teacher: b/c I'm not really the poncho type!

Day 2 – Thursday Sept 24th, Epcot baby!
Okay finally! Here are our plans for Day 2 when we hit the parks.
And our related Disney quote:
“I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I know something’s starting right now!”
Yay! Day 2 is our first day to hit the parks and really start our trip. We will be visiting Epcot. :cool1:
Why not MK on the first day you may ask? :confused3
Well, there are a couple of reasons, but mostly because I have deduced with my super human crowd predicting powers which days are the best days to go to the parks during our trip and this is how it worked out.
It has a lot to do with avoiding EMH’s (remember we don’t have park hoppers!) avoiding MK on a Saturday and avoiding the opening day of Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival – which I have heard is a total zoo.
We don't have a detailed touring plan for the parks, so we'll probably just go with what we feel at the time – hitting a few “must do’s.” I have a tendency to get a little drill sergeant on my girlfriends if there are too many plans, so during this trip I am going to try to suppress those crazy super-planner urges and just relax and have fun. :littleangel:
Wake up by 7:30 to shower and make it to rope drop
This may or may not happen. I really would like to make it to rope drop, but again I don’t want to be a complete pain about it, so if people need to sleep in another hour, that is doable. I checked last week and you could still get Soarin’ fastpasses at 10:30, so we should still be good if somebody (um, Jasmine) needs more sleep.
Drive to Epcot in the Tinkerbell Taxi (aka Honda) :tinker:
Enter Epcot!!!! :bounce:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpiAniXrN3I/AAAAAAAAI04/8PTSi7EwEf0/s400/IMG_4842.JPG
Take photos at the front of Spaceship Earth before the actual rope drop
Not sure if we’ll do photopass (I’ve been thinking of doing the cd) but I definitely want some of us in the classic shot.
Avoid the Soarin’ stampede and head to Test Track to ride. Maybe also ride Mission Space.
Get over to Soarin’ (now hopefully a little calmer! ;)) and get fastpasses.
And from here I have not planned anything as far as rides go. I figure we’ll spend the first ½ of the day in Futureworld.
The Futureworld highlights for us are:
Soarin’ – I will be thinking of Heather’s motion sickness during the city scene...rusafee represent!
Test Track
The Seas w/ Nemo
Imagination ride
Spaceship Earth – “remember how easy it was to learn your ABC’s? Thank the Phoenicians.”;)
Mission Space
Club Cool – oh yes, we will take the Beverly challenge!:drinking:
Lunch at Sunshine Seasons
This is a no brainer. There are so many choices and they also have some healthy items (yay goat cheese salad!) I think this will be a winner w/ the whole group.
Perhaps go back to resort for a little break
I don’t know if we’ll want to do this, but I’m allowing time to go back to the resort and rest if we need it. We’ll probably be to psyched for our first day in the parks but you never know.
Then after lunch (or our mid-day break if we choose to have one) we’ll make our way to the World Showcase…I think we’ll start on the Mexico end and make our way around like that.
Our World Showcase highlights are:
All the world pavilions – some drinking around the world, but not too much, I’d like to try one of the slushies in France, a margarita at the new tapas bar in Mexico and maybe a drink in the Rose & Crown…we’ll see!
Mexico boat ride
Maelstrom – love that weird little glowing eye in the beginning of this ride…I just can’t look away! :magnify:
Canada film
American Adventure
Off Kilter (I don’t think British Invasion plays the day we’re there) but hey, Kilts are sexy! :rotfl:
Go to Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco for a 6:00 dinner reservation.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Sp76B9HWd8I/AAAAAAAAI3Q/Ho4r1QAI3tk/s400/CIMG0199.JPG
I’ve never been here and have heard mixed reviews but I’m willing to give it a try. This is the one reservation that my girlfriends have offered input so if it doesn’t go well it’s on them! Lol
But the interior of this restaurant looks really cool and I really like the counter service in Morocco so it should be good.
Then after dinner we’ll just walk around the showcase, maybe do some shopping and get a beverage before getting a spot for Illuminations.
Watch Illuminations
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Sp76B9TEwUI/AAAAAAAAI3U/19HTv9DK1OQ/s400/illuminations.jpg
This show is one of my favorites. It just wow’s me every time I see it. We’ll probably stake out a spot around Germany. There’s always a good view from there w/o a lot of crowds.
Go back to the CBR
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpftOfWybKI/AAAAAAAAIzA/fOyGDXMEtVw/s400/jamaica.jpg
After a full day we will either be on a huge high from the park or really wiped out. If we’re wiped out, we’ll just head back to the resort and maybe do a late night swim.
And those are our Day 2 plans! What do you think? Are we missing anything important?
Next update – Am I going on a Disney cruise? Did we do it or did we decide that 14 days away from our dog is just too much??

I'm not a big drinker in my everyday life, but when we girls get together the alcohol just seems to flow...I don't know! We all went to college together so when we meet up we get all :woohoo:
Yeah, I think I like Pooh in the "bear" w/o any clothes
Yeeeeeeah Day 2 updates!!!
Well, I think you hit everything :thumbsup2 I even got a mention in the PTR. :cloud9:
:goodvibes
Not the best way to be remembered ... but I'll take what I can get :lmao:
Also, I vote for a GGCLS during Illuminations. Pure heaven. :lovestruc
I am getting sooo jealous! I won't be there for over a year :sad1: But I'll think of you girls when you're gone! You are going to have such a blast!
I'm excited to hear about Day 3 plans!!! :woohoo:
C'mon, I had to mention you in Soarin'! Now every time I ride that ride I'll be thinking of all the people who don't like the city scene lol
Well, you know the best medicine for missing Disney is just planning a brand new Disney trip, so you'd better get going w/ a new PTR!! :rotfl:
Oh no, that stinks about Spectromagic and the rain. :sad2:
Your plans look good so far. And I am thinking you are going on the cruise...:)
Yeah, there was actually something good about Spectro not going - Did you know that when Spectro isn't showing they run the streetcars down Main St. at night? It's really cool to ride those in the dark w/ the lights of Main St. - very magical.
And, I am thinking you are right!
----------------------
We’re doing it!!! I am now booked on a 14 day transatlantic Disney cruise in April 2010 on the Disney Magic!!! :boat:I am sooo excited I could burst! :hyper: I’ve been looking at photos and reviews of the ship ever since I heard.
My husband is awesome – he said he knew we had to do it when he mentioned it and saw how my face lit up…too sweet.
We were able to use our frequent flier miles for the flight from Spain back home to FL so this is going to be a reasonable vacation for us as far as $$ goes. I may have to do a little work while I’m on the ship but that is a small price to pay IMO for a trip like this. ;)

I think I heard it from the dis so that just means you're spending all of your time on the trip planning forums
Here's a link to the rumor - http://thedisneyblog.com/2009/07/17/magic-kingdom-fantasyland-expansion-plans-leaked/
Basically they want to revamp Fantasyland - keep the old favorites but take out toon town and add more princess related rides and attractions.
Ha Ha!!! :rotfl: You know me too well!!! I do only go to the trip report forum!!! Looks like I need to expand my horizons!!!
Not to sure how I feel out the refurb??? Gonna have to let that sink in a bit!!

LOL! I know, I totally get stuck in a certain area on the dis and then ignore all other areas! But I have used the budget board, photography board, theme park & strategies board, trip reports board and also the dining board in the past, oh and the recipes section too (ever wondered how you can make O'hana bread pudding at home?)
There's just SO much good stuff on the dis. I could spend all day on here learning new things.
Hmmmm, I think the refurb is a good thing - as long as they don't take away Winnie the Pooh! - of course I love the parks as they are, but if Disney doesn't update sometimes the parks would quickly become dinosaurs....no offense to the ride Dinosaur which I love

I know I am super excited about it! I've actually been cheating on the TR board by going over to the DCL board for the past few days:rolleyes:
-------------------
We went to the Prime Outlets at Ellenton yesterday (a great place for deals if you're ever in the area south of Tampa FL) and OF COURSE we took a peek in the Disney Character Outlet there.
My husband found a DCL shirt that he bought and I just about had a heart attack when I saw the most adorable Disney dresses in a bright patchwork preppy print:woohoo:........I saw them at WDW but didn't want to spend the $49. They had my size and then I saw the price tag  they were still $49!!!
The lady at the store said they can't discount them until WDW stops selling them. So, I guess I'll be checking back at the outlets next week to see if they're marked down. I REALLY wanted that dress when I first saw it, but I just couldn't justify the cost. :sad2: Cross your fingers for me that they'll have it marked down the next time I go!

Since you guys liked the Magical Parade, I think you’ll like this too.;)
Did you know that Disney will send you a free set of customized maps to the parks? I ordered them a few months ago and received them only about 2 weeks later. They are beautiful and sooo fun!! :woohoo:
It’s amazing that these are free! Here are some photos of our maps:
Photos of maps

I didn't get one of DHS since we're not going there on this trip.
I totally recommend making your own customized maps. :thumbsup2 They are just gorgeous and would also be nice if you are into scrapbooking.
Here’s the link where you can create your own customized maps. I did the classic map option.

So, the reason why I haven't been updating as much this week is b/c my mom is coming to visit me this Thursday! :cool1:
She lives in Va. Beach, VA so I don't get to see her as much as I'd like. She's a widow so I like to bring her down or take her on trips w/ me whenever I can.
My husband is going to Washington DC for the weekend so it'll just be me and the madre. We're going to go to the beach and just have fun girl time :cutie: I can't wait to see her!!!
Anyhow, I'm cleaning my house today...oh what fun! :laundy:
I hope to put another update for our Day 3 plans in the next couple of days. ;)

You and me both sister! I've seriously been cleaning from 9:30 this morning until now and I'm still not completely done!
Good news is that I'm 95% done w/ just some laundry folding and my bedroom to neaten up and make the guest bed and THEN I'll be done! whew! When I make my fortune, the #1 big luxury is going to be getting a maid ;)

This is SO not cool! Literally....
My mom came in today and it was a beautiful day. We went to the beach this afternoon and we came back and....the air conditioning in my house just stopped working :scared1:
OMG, it's so freakin hot in my house right now!! Like 88 degrees on the thermostat. :sad2: Why this has to happen right when my mom comes to visit...the Lord above only knows.
We had the AC repair man out here and he says that there is a huge block of ice around the AC unit and he can't begin to fix it until that's melted.
So yes folks, I have to sleep in 88 degree heat tonight. Thank goodness for Secret!

Hi Tink,
You had posted on my PTR that you were doing a girls only trip, I had to come check it out. OMG! FUN! FUN! FUN! I can't wait for the trip report for this one.
You are planning the trip that my sister Bo and I have always wanted to take. It just never seems to work out for us.
Your plans all sound great, all your ADR's yummy, and the drinks...well I have no words...they look fruityholic and will probably add to the magic...alot!!!
Can't wait for more updates.

Hi Ty! :welcome: Thanks for joining in! Our trips sounded kinda similar...men are wonderful, but it is fun just to do stuff w/ the girls sometimes. Your trip w/ your mom and Marzi sounds like a blast.
I'm planning on posting an update for our Day 3 plans either tonight or tomorrow. :)

My husband ended up turning on the AC at about 1:00 am that morning and it started working again --- it turns out that we just had to wait for it to unfreeze, so now we're back in business I don't feel like I'm melting :rotfl:
but it was a hard night until the air started blowing again.
-----------------
I can't believe it, but I went pretty much the entire weekend without going on the dis. It CAN be done! But now that my mom is on a plane back to Virginia and my husband is home safe and sound, I'll be reverting back to my dis-crazy self.
On that note, I hope to post our plans for Day 3 either tonight or tomorrow. :tink: The trip is getting so close now, I really can't wait too long to post more....

Day 3 – Friday Sept 25th, Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP! :worship:
And our related Disney quote:
“Why, it's like a dream. A wonderful dream come true!”
*hint it’s from an older Disney movie…around the 1950’s…this character “goes around in circles getting very very dizzy, still they holler keep her busy!” :cutie:
Nobody got my last one, but it was from the Little Mermaid. :teacher:
Yay! Here we are on Day 3! :Pinkbounc
So first things first, we’ll be going to MK today. I figure that the park will be less crowded that day b/c of MNSSHP – people who aren’t going to the party probably don’t want to spend the day there b/c it closes at 7pm and people who are going to the party probably want to park hop that day…or at least, that’s what I’m hoping! ;)
Get up in time for rope drop
This might be pushing it depending on how much we like the new tequila bar in Mexico  but I’m hoping that we can do rope drop at MK. I really love the welcome show – “a castle leads the entrance way to 7 lands and more!” – so I hope we can make it.
Park at TTC and take monorail to MK
This will be our first monorail ride! I get so excited seeing the castle from the windows! :tinker:
Watch Welcome show
Oooooh! I can hear the music already…Welcome Welcome Welcome! The front of the park looks so pretty this time of year!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SpiAoJi1lTI/AAAAAAAAI08/RQMWE3tH90E/s400/IMG_2652.jpg
Grab a Photopass photographer and get that beautiful castle shot from Main St. USA
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Sq69OVPzm4I/AAAAAAAAI4w/A2ujD7GyZJs/s400/CIMG2243.JPG
I just got my email for the $99 Photopass cd. I think it would be good to do, but I’ve definitely heard mixed reviews. I figure I can always get a refund if we don’t take that many pictures. ;)
Ride Main St. vehicles down Main St.
We’ll only do this if its available, sometimes they’re out and sometimes they’re not. I think it’s super cool to see Main St. from one of the old timey cars or the horse drawn trolley, but I’m not willing to wait to long for them to appear so if they aren’t out in time we’ll skip this.
And again in the spirit of not being a total control freak, I’m not planning any rides from here. I’ll just ask the girls what they’d like to do. The only “plan” is really to hit rides that we want to do that will definitely be closed later during MNSSHP, like Jungle Cruise or whatever.
The daytime Magic Kingdom highlights for us are:
Peter Pan’s Flight
Snow Whites Scary Adventures
Mickey’s Philharmagic
Winnie the Pooh :eeyore:
Teacups
Buzz Lightyear - I think we’ll make it interesting w/ a bet on the highest score
WDW Rail Road
It’s a Small World
Splash Mountain – really looking forward to this!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Pirates of the Caribbean
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Jungle Cruise
Shopping on Main St.
Lunch at ?
I’m also leaving this open. I know I’m in the minority, but my fav lunch place is Pinnochio’s Village Haus (the veggie pizza combo is good I swear!) :rotfl: Depending on what everyone wants we’ll either go to Pinnochio’s, Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbor House.
We may hit a few more rides and then we’re going to…
Go back to resort for a little break
I just think that if we’re going to go into the wee hours at MK, we’ll need a little rest. Maybe we’ll take a dip in one of the village pools at the resort or take a nap, whatever.
Dinner at the Wave
We have a 5:45 dinner reservation and I know that’s cutting it a little close for MNSSHP. We may show up at 5:30 and try to be seated then (if not, it’s drinks at the bar!) and also we’ll let our server know that we want to make it to the party.
I’ve never been to the Wave. I heard all about it on Lynn’s dining review and it sounded great. :thumbsup2 I think it will be a nice respite and a good way to ease into our evening. Belle is really excited for this reservation b/c organic and sustainable foods are her kind of thing. I’m just going for the filet!! :bitelip:
Take Monorail to MK for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
So excited about this!! :cool1: We’re not dressing up but we will be wearing our Mickey headgear. I think it will be just awesome to see the MK all dressed up and the special touches. We’re planning to stay until the party ends which is 12:00 or 1:00…I can’t remember which.
Our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party highlights are:
Big Thunder Mountain RR – this ride is AMAZING at night!
Haunted Mansion – of course
Pirates of the Caribbean – kind of creepy at night
Whatever we don’t hit in Fantasyland during the day
Cinderella’s Carousel
Dumbo? – if the line isn’t too long
Astro Orbiters – also super cool at night w/ the lights of Tomorrowland
Boo to You Parade – the later one, 10:30 I think it is
Hallowishes Fireworks
Some light trick or treating
Getting Photopass pics taken in front of the Haunted Mansion – I’ve heard they are out there, we’ll see
Maybe some character greetings – not sure if my friends are into this
Drag our tired butts back to the CBR

Good one! :thumbsup2 That quote is from Cinderella. It's from the part when her fairy godmother has just transformed her for the ball.
Wow, I didn't know the Halloween decor was fairly new. :scratchin I feel even luckier for getting to see it! Main St. is really done up this time of year w/ carved pumpkins sitting on every available surface - on the roofs and in the windows - it's pretty neat. :wizard:

And I've been calling Jasmine on the phone trying to get a hold of her (grrrrr!) but I haven't talked to her in a few weeks. I just want to check in to make sure that she's all set and then she's on her own!
My dog has been sick to his stomach the past few days :guilty: so I've been concerned about that. Here's a picture of my dog, he's my pride and joy.:goodvibes

He's starting to feel better today I think, so keep your fingers crossed.
And for you CBR lovers out there, I wanted to post some pics from my last stay there back in January of this year.

Anyhow, for Reese and anyone else who is off on a trip this weekend, I hope you have a magical time....I can't wait to join you myself!:cheer2:

I'm listening to the Disney Dreams Come True parade theme song right now! "Come and share the exciting adventure of Disney dreams come true!"
I really miss that parade. Anyhow, I talked to Jasmine finally today and she's all set for the trip.
I also went to Target tonight and bought a new umbrella (hot pink of course!) and so now I really have everything I need for the trip, I can't believe it! :goodvibes
Because I'm taking at least Tues-Sun off next week, I need to get some work done this weekend, which is not super fun, but it's a small price to pay for 4 days of magic ;)

Thanks! We got him at the SPCA about 5 years ago and it was love at first sight :lovestruc
Its just so weird for it to be cold here, so I was shocked to see frost that day even though it was January  But we checked the pool that day & it was still a toasty 80 degrees...gotta love that!

"Give me give me give me the french fry"
The Nemo rooms are really cute but not too cartoon-y that adults can't enjoy them. I was hesitant about them at first, but when I saw them I really liked them!
Have you seen the pirate themed rooms that they have at CBR? Those are really neat too.

I couldn't believe that we had frost that day! It's usually so warm. Just hope that the warm weather isn't too much of a shock for my friends. I keep telling them it's hot down here still, but I'm not sure they get just how hot.

Day 4 – Saturday Sept 26th, Animal Kingdom
Our 4th and final day is at Animal Kingdom. None of the girlfriends have ever been to this park so it’s pretty exciting! :woohoo:
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SrejSA_xI3I/AAAAAAAAI6I/JlWWkRMc03I/s400/CIMG0046.JPG
Get up in time for rope drop
Yes, I want to go to every rope drop. Is it a pipe dream? We’ll see. I guess it depends on how late we stay at MNSSHP.
And from there I don’t have any clear plans for park touring.
Our Animal Kingdom highlights are:
Expedition Everest – I’m a little worried about Belle on this one. She is kind of a chicken when it comes to roller coasters...I know she’ll ride it at least once, I hope she likes it!
Dinosaur – My favorite ride in AK :cloud9:
Kilamanjaro Safari
Both jungle/nature walks
Kali River Rapids – I’ve never been on this before, it should be fun!
It’s Tough to Be a Bug – Can’t wait to hear their screams at the end lol :rotfl:
Lion King Show – This is a wow attractions imo
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SrejTUl5TVI/AAAAAAAAI6Q/UAwoR5g6oOY/s400/CIMG0015.JPG
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/SrejRv5G33I/AAAAAAAAI6E/UY23apH7Xnk/s400/CIMG0020.JPG
Animal Kingdom maybes that we’ll do if we have time:
Finding Nemo show
Primeval Whirl
Lunch at either Flame Tree BBQ or Pizzafari
I’m just narrowing down the choices to these two. It really depends on how hot we are – I like Flame Tree, but it doesn’t have indoor seating, so :rolleyes1
Go back to resort
Everyone is going to need a little time to get their stuff together for departure the following morning. And we’ll want to dress for dinner.
Dinner at Boma 8:10
I LOVE Boma!!! It’s right up there w/ O’hana for me. I also love the AKL. I think that everyone will be impressed with the place.
Hit Jellyroll’s at the Boardwalk or Rix Lounge at the CSR
:dancer:We’ll probably want some nightlife on our last evening at Disney. We’ll just go wherever we feel like going.
Head back to the CBR and rest for the flights the next day
And that wraps up our last day at Disney!
On Saturday we’ll be driving to the airport :car: for everyone’s flights and I’ll drive the Tinkerbell Taxi home where it will become a Honda again and I’ll start planning my next Disney trip lol!

Tonight and tomorrow I'm taking care of loose ends and then Wed morning at 7:30 am I'll start the drive to MCO and then WDW!!! Only one more whole day until the trip...I am dying with excitement!!!:dance3:
I've put so much time and effort into creating a fun trip - from dining reservations to buying breakfast items for our rooms to MNSSHP tickets to glow necklaces, it has been a lot of planning.
My friends really have no idea....I sure hope they appreciate it :goodvibes

Aww I love Animal Kingdom! Expedition Everest is awesome so hopefully Belle will like it.
Yeah, I've talked her through the intense parts of the ride, so she'll know what to expect. It's more a mind thing than a stomach thing - she just has some irrational fears about the safety of rides...hopefully she will do ok!

Hope you had a great time.
I wish I would of seen this sooner and told you to have your friends to DME, but i am sure you are way to excited to see them. I just know girls and luggage and ours barely fit into a Towncar that we used when we went on our cruise. The driver actually told me he had to drive slow, because the trunk was so heavy. That was the lamest line I ever heard.
Looking forward to your report when you return.

Okay, so I'm finally going to start the TR after about a week of being back home. :wizard:
To those of you who are new, :welcome: I hope you enjoy our trip! To read more about all of the participants & our background, check on page 1 of this thread.
I have to say that I did experience a little Disney withdrawal after the trip, so that's why it took me so long to post :rolleyes1 Also, I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but I am going on vacation to France on Oct 16th...so I've been working overtime - nights, weekends - until I go b/c that's coming up soon.
Sly me, :stir: I managed to book a night in Disney the day before that trip too, so I'll be staying at the All Star Sports on Oct 15th...fun times. But now back to the subject at hand!
So let's get started shall we?
And your Disney quote of the day...
"Here we gooooooo! Off to Neverland!"
DAY 1 Part 1
7:00 a.m. - I leave my house in Sarasota for the airport in Orlando
I got up around 6:00 that morning to get ready and put everything in the car before leaving at 7:00. So I did my makeup and hugged my husband and doggie goodbye  and I was off!
To help me wake up and get into the mood, I listened to the High School Musical 3 soundtrack :cool1: It was smooth sailin' until I got on the freeway and then, oh crap, there is an accident, one lane is closed and the traffic is bumper to bumper :drive:
There's not a lot of traffic in my city, so luckily I don't have road rage :headache: lol, but I was a little ticked when I realized that if I had just chosen a later freeway entrance I could have bypassed all of that traffic!
After my little slowdown I just set the cruise control and before I knew it I was seeing signs for Disney!!! But I couldn't go there just yet...I had to pick up my friends first!
I took 417 to the airport which is a really easy way to go (FYI) but is a little expensive w/ all of the tolls.
I got to the airport, parked and then waited for my friends to arrive.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9YbIAa5I/AAAAAAAAI6w/T6SwhDG3RVo/s400/IMG_4869.JPG
I really like the MCO airport. It's so pretty w/ the atrium and fountains, and I even saw some birds in there.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9Y8opoII/AAAAAAAAI60/du4RXBmHT5I/s400/IMG_4870.JPG
Of course I saw the Disney store and had to go in there to pass some time.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9ZSVRwuI/AAAAAAAAI64/IOeqpw9Q3QU/s400/IMG_4871.JPG
And then finally I saw my friends coming down the hallway! Sorry no pictures of that, I was just busy hugging everyone! :grouphug:
We picked up the luggage and then hopped in the car to head to Disney. :car: It was about a 20 minute drive before we got to the resort.
During the drive I explained things like Fastpass and the dining plan to everyone.
Arrive at the Caribbean Beach Resort
We checked in at the security point and then drove to the Customs House.
I didn't do online check in b/c we had a bunch of room requests - adjoining, Jamaica, 2nd floor - and I wasn't sure if they would go through w/ the online deal.
We got in line for regular check in and...........20 minutes later we were able to check in. There was only 1 family in front of us in line but there was only like 1 CM working w/ the regular check in folks. This was not a good way to start, but we all tried to keep a smile on while we waited anyway.
Off to Old Port Royale for some lunch
By the time we checked in it was about 1:00, so we were starved! Our rooms weren't ready yet (they said they would text us) so we headed to the food court at Old Port Royale.
I love this food court! They have so many options and everything just tastes fresh. And it looks so cute w/ all of the pastel colored facades.
We split up b/c Ariel and Belle wanted pizza and Jasmine and I wanted sandwiches. We all got our stuff and picked a quiet table in the right hand side of the food court.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9aXBY0zI/AAAAAAAAI7A/eHc4d7B5HSk/s400/IMG_4873.JPG
I got a turkey blt w/ pasta salad, tea to drink (they have the coolest tea dispensers!) and a HUGE vanilla cupcake. The sandwich was delicious and the cupcake was AMAZING! I've been dreaming about it ever since.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9Z0nKA-I/AAAAAAAAI68/a_BJ0tXsJhk/s400/IMG_4872.JPG
Jasmine had a Beef & Blue sandwich on ciabatta w/ jerk potato chips that she really liked. She had a cookie for dessert that was really good too.
Ariel and Belle ended up having chicken nuggets & fries and both were being "good" so they got fruit for dessert. :upsidedow
After lunch we walked around the Old Port Royale area and we got a text saying that one of our rooms was ready so we headed over to Jamaica.
We got into our rooms, or should I say room?
Mine and Belle's room was ready so we all crashed in there. We got a corner room on the 2nd floor so it was really nice. I like the extra windows.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9a5hRBMI/AAAAAAAAI7E/qeDsfADRhv8/s400/IMG_4874.JPG
I heard that rooms are "supposed" to be ready by 3:00 so around 2:30, Ariel checked to see if the room next door was ready. She could open the door but there was still a mess in there.
Finally around 3:05 the room was ready...not sure what they were doing over there since our room next door was ready about 2 hours before :confused3 but whatever.
They got settled in and unpacked and then we talked about what we should do for the rest of the afternoon. :hyper2:
What did we end up doing and how did our night go?
More on that in the next update! ;)

Actually Heather I'm glad you picked up on it because we are so much fun. It's about time you noticed lol!! We had plenty of cocktails but I never did get that grey goose slushie...blame that on the margaritas though :woohoo: more on that later!
Hi! Can't wait till you start your TR!!!! Looking forward to it. Glad you all had a great time, and yes it is important to remember the good things, and forget the bad things!
Hey!! MCO airport is my favorite! Love it!!!! That's a cute picture of you!
Your food looked good.. Port Royale is a great food court.
That stinks about your room not being ready on time. Looks like you guys had a Nemo room. It would have been cool if they put you in the pirate themed rooms. They look cool.
Can't wait to hear what you girls did next.
Hi Lynnie! Yeah, whatever little negative parts there were to this vacation are slipping away...I guess that's why we don't take pictures of the bad stuff :rotfl:
That cupcake at lunch was soooo good. I seriously have been craving another one since. I actually had another one on the day after the trip ended b/c I brought one home, but I mean that I have been craving one since then, um, yeah. ;)
I like those pirate rooms too, they really did some cool theming with those. I think my husband would like to stay in one sometime.
I'm going to add another update right after this!
Great start! Can't wait for more.
Thanks Sarah! I have about a week to get this TR done so it's going to keep on coming!
:goodvibes I cannot wait to hear about your adventures ! :goodvibes
Stay tuned...I have an update to post tonight. :goodvibes
Hi tink! I've been waiting for this TR. You're off to a good start, I can't wait to read more.
Thanks Ty! :flower3:
Yay!!:yay: You started your TR!! I can't wait to read all about your trip!! Good start so far!!:)
Thanks Angie! 4 days is so little time to spend in Disney, we did the best we could! :cheer2:

DAY 1 Part 2
Pool and Cocktails…ahhh this is the life!
The weather was still really warm out (a theme for our entire trip lol) so after everyone got settled we decided to make some drinks and head out to the pool. :beach:
I had brought some Bacardi and 2 bottled mixers from home for this very occasion, so I hopped down to the ice machine and we started making our drinks which involved getting ice, pouring in the rum, adding the mixer and then pouring it between 2 plastic cups, I’m sorry but we’re just classy broads! We can’t help but ooze sophistication! :rotfl:
Drinks in hand we walked to the pool. We decided to go to the Jamaica village pool because Old Port Royale just seemed kind of far at the time. Now if we knew that the Jamaica village pool was actually a decent hike from our building things might have been different lol
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9bV52CAI/AAAAAAAAI7I/E_veFq8_0EM/s400/IMG_4875.JPG
We laid out on the plastic chairs for about 8 minutes before burning up and getting into the water. We talked and hung out there for a while and then decided that we should go back to our rooms to shower and get ready for dinner.
Sorry no more pool pictures, but that's not the kind of image I want floating around the internet thank you very much!
Let’s go to the Poly!
The plan was to head to the Polynesian to get a pre-dinner drink and watch the fireworks from the Poly beach and then go get dinner at O’hana.
We entered the Poly and there were lots of oooh’s and ahhh’s from my group, the waterfall at the front of the Great Ceremonial House is pretty impressive.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9byctDjI/AAAAAAAAI7M/lJ7izFYWVvY/s400/IMG_4876.JPG
We stopped at the gift shop in the lobby and picked up a disposable camera for Ariel (which by the way took amazing pictures for a disposable!) I lead everyone upstairs and through a HUGE crowd. :scared1:
I guess this is what they mean by crowds during free dining! It was a madhouse in there! People standing up, sitting, just taking up whatever space was available…and the line to check in at O’hana, wow!
We headed towards the bar and lucked out to find 4 chairs available. We checked out the menu & ordered our drinks – wine for Jasmine, wine for Belle, a dirty martini for Ariel and a Pina Colava for me.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9dVRu8EI/AAAAAAAAJNk/lsKut9IOyyM/s400/IMG_4879.JPG
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9dxIvP5I/AAAAAAAAJNw/rYzCbTZpqgo/s400/IMG_4880.JPG
I know our drink order is disappointing considering what they have at the Poly, but to be fair, the drink menus were really standardized & didn’t even have the Lapu Lapu or Backscratcher on them. I don’t know what the deal is at the wdw bars, but it seems like they’re going to more of a blah bar menu. :confused3
All of the menus were the same at every resort we went to….I hope they’re not taking away the old favorites. Also I was driving so I couldn’t order anything w/ too much alcohol (another theme on this trip unfortunately!)
After we paid for our drinks I said we should mosey on down to the beach for Wishes. Since my friends all live in the northeast, they were a little scared of bringing their drinks down to the beach because they didn’t know if it was allowed.
But I assured them that this is Disney and they’ll do almost anything to keep guests happy here, including letting them take their (gasp!) alcohol down to the beach. ::yes::
This is the way Wishes should be seen
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9eA29JFI/AAAAAAAAI7g/RfvtOJRooc4/s400/IMG_4881.JPG
At the beach we took off our shoes & put our feet in the sand. I know that it isn’t a real beach, but the sand at the Poly is so nice, you really do feel like you’re in a tropical paradise……..um, until you see the Grand Floridian and the castle I guess! It sure was nice down there. I would totally go watch Wishes at the Poly beach again.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9fM6hS4I/AAAAAAAAI7s/lugoARRwdfs/s400/IMG_4883.JPG

Ariel and Jasmine got another round at the pool bar and when they came back it was time for Wishes.
They pipe the music in so it really is lovely. Jasmine was really impressed with how long and elaborate the show was. I was just so happy to be there, it was awesome!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9k3Jcx0I/AAAAAAAAI8Y/K9NE6ikkdLc/s400/IMG_4894.JPG
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9nOeInNI/AAAAAAAAI8s/341aTauoQyg/s400/IMG_4899.JPG
Off to O’hana
As soon as Wishes was over we went back up to the Great Ceremonial House for our O’hana dinner. By now the crowd had really cleared out and I didn’t even have to wait to check us in.
After about 15 minutes and another round of drinks (but not for me, I’m the driver!) we were seated. I should say that it was about 8:40 at this point so we were ready to eat right away.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9opzRLPI/AAAAAAAAI84/d2l7qPPWkls/s400/IMG_4902.JPG
Our waitress came and took our drink orders (just tea and water this time lol) and then the salad, potstickers and wings came. They were all really good. We ordered more potstickers, I swear they give you the same amount whether you’re a table of 2 or a table of 4.
And after the appetizery part it was a long long time until they came with the turkey and pork loin. Then it was another long time until they brought the meat sauces. And then it was another long long long time until the shrimp and steak came.
I’ve been to O’hana before and I know the service isn’t the best, but this was the worst service I’ve ever had there. We almost left without the famous bread pudding because we were all falling asleep at the table. It was 10:30 before we left!
We all agreed that the service was super slow but the food was great. :upsidedow Everyone really liked the steak, the potstickers and the dessert the most, except for Ariel, she doesn’t eat dessert (crazy I know, but I eat her portion! no joke, I really do ) Belle was still talking about the bread pudding at the end of the trip.
Hey, where is our hotel?
We dragged our tired behinds to the car and then I started driving home. But hey, this doesn’t seem right, that’s the Contemporary there!
Yes I went the wrong way out of the Poly and ended up at the Contemporary, uh-oh! The guard at the Contemporary steered me in the right direction and we made it home. I’m sorry to say that this was only the beginning of my driving mishaps on this trip. :sad2:
I just never realized how hard it is to navigate around the wdw property! My husband usually drives there so I never pay attention I guess, but man I was worse than a student driver in there! :scared: Even when I looked at the map before leaving I still got lost a bunch of times when we were there. But I think by the end of the trip I was getting the hang of it lol! :rotfl:
That’s all for our first day. Stay tuned for the next update when we take Epcot by storm….can we convince Belle (who is afraid of heights and pretty much all thrill rides) to ride Soarin? Wait and see!

I'm glad that you girls had good weather. I was in Maryland at the same time and I swear it was just as cold as it is in Pittsburgh. Especially by the ocean, the sun was out - but when that wind was going it was COLD! :cold:
And I don't know if this applies to your slow service at O'hana situation- or if it was just a one time thing.... But when my DH and I were eating at O'hana on our honeymoon in 2008 - we were there for Wishes also. The service was pretty slow, but what killed us was at the end of the night when we were getting ready to leave, our server actually said to us "Do you guys mind hanging out for a little while longer? We still have a half hour until we close and if they clear this table now - I'll never get out of here because they will seat someone else"
Us being the blushing, glowing newlyweds that we were back then  said 'Sure! Why not!' But, after the fact we were so exhausted and barely found transportation back to POR because it was so late. :scared1:
So, maybe because it was so late was why they *slowed down a bit* because they didn't want to get another table. :confused3

Wow, first a trip to WDW and then to France? Girl, you must be livin' right! Would love to hear about that trip too--France is about my favorite place in the world (besides the US of course) :)
Don't feel bad about getting lost. I think it must happen to everyone. By the time ya figure things out, the vacation is almost over!
Love how you take Winnie on your trips (he'll go to France, right?). It reminds me of the "Flat Stanley" that gets photographed by people in various places; I think some elementary teachers use it in geography-related assignments.

Yeah the weather was anything but cold! I am used to it in FL but I think the heat & humidity was a bit of a shock for my friends, especially on our MK day, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. ;)
Hmmm, that could be the case in O'hana. I swear I couldn't find out waitress all night...I've been a waitress before and I don't know WHAT that girl was doing, but she was nowhere to be seen. I try to always give people the benefit of the doubt b/c I've been there, but this was pretty ridiculous. Usually they rush you there but this time it was the complete opposite!
Your first day sounds like a blast! I love classy girls that know how to work a mixed drink in a hurry! :thumbsup2

Well, I think a lot of people were trying to get into O'hana that night. There were a bunch of people in the waiting area but by around 8:30 they had all cleared out. Typically the service at O'hana is actually a little rushed, but that night it was slow instead. I've been there 3 times w/in the past 2 years and this time was definitely the slowest, so hopefully it was a fluke & you won't have any problems. The food is still really yummy even if the service is "meh".
So loving your report!!! What a way to spend time with friends!!!
I go back & forth between our two reports to keep pace w/ you girl! I think we both have our first days done now.

Yes, we are off to France next Friday w/ an overnight in Disney on Thursday b/c we don't want to drive all the way out to Sarasota after we drop my dog off at boarding in Sanford (near WDW.) It is really exciting but honestly I haven't gotten all psyched up for it b/c I was so busy w/ this girls trip.
Me & my husband love to travel so we take a couple of trips a year. We don't have nice cars and we have no kids, so travel is really our luxury in life. It's what we love, so we try to do it as much as we can! :goodvibes
ABSOLUTELY Winnie is going to France! I wouldn't leave home w/o him! I'm hoping for an Eiffel tower pic for him....we'll see. I haven't heard of Flat Stanley, but now I'll have to Google that! :)

DAY 2 Epcot
**I would have put more smilies into this tr, but there is a limit on images so oh well! Imagine the smilies in the appropriate places LOL!
So we left off where we just had a great and relaxing first day…now it’s time for our first park day at Epcot!
Let’s go!
We woke up early and I pushed everyone to hurry so we could make it to rope drop and get some rides in before the crowds showed up. There was lots of coffee being made in our room, but not for me, I’m the driver! Lol
We pulled up to Epcot and it was just a little past opening, maybe like 15 minutes, so we did pretty good. We were able to park very close so that was nice.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9pzOrMFI/AAAAAAAAI9A/yz5U1FVE9Lc/s400/IMG_4904.JPG
Smile for the camera
I wanted to get some pictures out in front of Spaceship Earth so we did some photo ops. It was kind of hard to get one without other people in it, but hey! I can crop that guy out!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9rheIQfI/AAAAAAAAI9M/z_vYfORyu8Q/s400/IMG_4907.JPG
Where to start?
I wanted to avoid the Soarin’ stampede at all costs so we headed left towards Test Track to start. But wait! Is this a store? We must go in Mousegears right now! After all, that’s why we got to rope drop! Lol
So we went into Mousegears and Ariel bought a purse just like my cute Mickey one except hers is black with multi-color Mickeys and Jasmine talked to a CM and played with those huge bouncey balls that are out front. We had a lot of fun joking her about playing with some guy’s balls.
Then we walked over to Test Track. No line so we just went right through the queue. I was trying to find hidden Mickeys but I didn’t see any.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9s2cgmmI/AAAAAAAAI9U/o8cNbDj649A/s400/IMG_4909.JPG
Belle was feeling a little nervous about this one, but she did just fine. Here’s her “after” picture…does she look pale to you?
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9tt5mUEI/AAAAAAAAI9Y/sjeqFy1HFgQ/s400/IMG_4910.JPG
Ariel said she’d like a little crossover like this one
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9uEmlWtI/AAAAAAAAI9c/g1paGrPZtFE/s400/IMG_4911.JPG
The Cadillac CTS is a little more my style, but they didn’t have that one in there anymore.
Space Recruits
Next we decided to do Mission to Mars. The “intense” orange version is the only ride I really can’t handle. I’ve ridden it twice and didn’t need the little baggie, but I always feel a little off when I ride it so I don’t like to do it. Belle chicken that she is, didn’t mind AT ALL! So she and I did the green and Ariel and Jasmine did the orange.
We were very proud to be the Engineer and Navigator of the green team!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9uiSULiI/AAAAAAAAI9g/DfozqiqulWM/s400/IMG_4912.JPG
The Land
I thought that the Land was probably safe at this point so we walked across to grab our fp’s for Soarin’.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9wmixkII/AAAAAAAAI9s/Mbjk7E1fQcc/s400/IMG_4915.JPG
It was only about 10:30 or so, but Ariel doesn’t eat breakfast so she was starting to get hungry. I promised her we’d come right back to the Land after our next ride.
A kids ride? You decide
And then we went over to see these little guys.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9x2BU9hI/AAAAAAAAI94/xOCLwr48wlo/s400/IMG_4917.JPG
We walked right on the Seas with Nemo and jumped in our clamshells. I love the Nemo ride, but my friends were of the opinion that it was a kiddie ride….I guess I’m just a kid at heart!
Lunchtime
Now we were all starting to get hungry. I know the perfect place! The Land! Seriously I think the Land is the best place for groups to go for lunch. There are so many choices that everybody is happy.
I got the goat cheese salad (my favorite!) without beets and Jasmine got the same. Belle got a veggie sandwich that she really liked and Ariel got something from the Asian bar. For dessert it was strawberry shortcake, a rice krispy treat and an orange something for me.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9yVbOLdI/AAAAAAAAI98/CvgD6DMbmGc/s400/IMG_4918.JPG
Soarin’
After we ate it was the perfect time to go back and use our fp’s for Soarin’ so that’s exactly what we did. Belle was really apprehensive about this one too, but we were able to talk her down and get her on the ride. It turned out to be her absolute favorite of the trip!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9v12TnVI/AAAAAAAAI9o/Bpf19oKR5ZE/s400/IMG_4914.JPG
Hi Minnie!
Soarin’ was a big hit for everyone. We were all really high from that ride and then Ariel says that her sister wanted her to get a picture of Goofy. Well, I know the best place for that is the Character Spot in Epcot, so we walked in there and got in line.
This was by far the longest line we waiting in for the whole trip. It was a little difficult because there were lots of cranky kids in line so there was a bit of tantrum going on. None of us complained though, Ariel wanted to do it so we stood in line and watched the old Disney cartoons until it was our turn!
We met all of the characters and it was really fun – TOTALLY worth the wait! I’m always impressed with the character interactions and how they can just pull at your heartstrings. Our favorite was Minnie who had us put down our purses and do a pose with her. It was just really fun.

We also got pictures with Mickey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. Belle said later that it seemed like Goofy was a little touchy feely so we had a little giggle about how Goofy must be quite the ladies man, lol.
Beverly
After our fun character interaction we were a little thirsty so we went to Club Cool. I didn’t warn anyone about the Beverly ha ha so they tried it and made faces that would have broken my camera. And I got my favorite Veggie Beta.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn9zHrrIuI/AAAAAAAAI-E/CwYooEShD2c/s400/IMG_4920.JPG
One little spark
Then we went over to the Imagination pavilion for the Imagination ride.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn90v0XIYI/AAAAAAAAI-M/v4FhotpQZlw/s400/IMG_4922.JPG
Not everybody loved this ride, but I just think its so cute! Figment was totally my favorite when I was a kid, that was the old version, but that little purple guy still holds a place in my heart!
We also played with the Imageworks photo creator machines. Here’s our photo:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/StJ60zSVB7I/AAAAAAAAJP8/ZbYVXpVoeZk/s400/a%20funny%20picture%20of%20friends.gif.jpg
Awww man, I really wanted the elephant trunk!!
It was starting to get pretty hot at this point and we needed a break so we decided to check out the Mexico pavilion and the new tequila bar there.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn91CBKZOI/AAAAAAAAI-Q/xFet_3WcmcY/s400/IMG_4923.JPG
Muuuuy Caliente!
We played around the pavilion for a few minutes until we spotted La Cava de Tequila, which I’m pretty sure means the Tequila Cave.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn91hdnfvI/AAAAAAAAI-U/ivIYU2YHW4c/s400/IMG_4924.JPG
There weren’t a lot of people in there since it was right around noon. We strolled right in there and got a nice large booth at the back of the bar.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn93IalADI/AAAAAAAAI-g/IBIny7ZI5xw/s400/IMG_4927.JPG
This place is really cool. I recommend checking it out next time you’re there, but it’s not all that child friendly, so its best for the grownups.
We all decided to order different margaritas…I don’t remember the exact names, but I remember the main flavors. Jasmine had the blood orange, Belle had the passion fruit, I don’t remember what Ariel got. I had the Durazno, it was peach flavored with that St. Germain Elderflower liquor. It was AMAZING! Sooooo good. In fact, all of them were really good. These were the best margaritas I’ve ever had & the best overall drinks I’ve had in a while.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn95D-8rbI/AAAAAAAAI-w/vFvDzlQEZOY/s400/IMG_4931.JPG
We hung out here for a while....can't you tell why? it was so much fun there! Jasmine ordered another, the jalapeno margarita which was really refreshing and Ariel ordered a blood orange.
Our waitress was a total sweetie. Her name was Nancy and she’s wonderful. We liked her so much we even took a photo of her!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn96zI5VYI/AAAAAAAAI_A/lEFir8d2HA8/s400/IMG_4935.JPG
And she took one of us….with our camera of course!
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn95y9yM0I/AAAAAAAAI-4/yOU1_6jy8CY/s400/IMG_4933.JPG
We paid the bill and decided to ride the Mexico boat ride. I’ve been on this ride a few times, but it adds a whole new dimension of fun when you’ve had a few margaritas!
I took some pics in the ride since we had the boat to ourselves.

Step into your future
Backtracking a little, we went to ride Spaceship Earth. I sat with Jasmine and we had a bunch of fun with our future.

Hey, why is my head so small?
This is getting long and I really want to watch Desperate Housewives so I’m going to cut this post here and post the rest of DAY 2 on the next post. See you then!

DAY 2 Epcot – Part 2
Chocolate and Canada
After doing Spaceship Earth Belle wanted to get a snack so she opted for the classic Mickey bar. It looked good but was a little messy…..really messy as we found out later in Morocco.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-ATs4oVI/AAAAAAAAI_0/Zma7ObTVsr4/s400/IMG_4947.JPG
We went to Canada for the circlevision film there. It was starting to cloud up a little at this point.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-AoeLCpI/AAAAAAAAI_4/rSkdrSEyRQc/s400/IMG_4948.JPG
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-BBvsMDI/AAAAAAAAI_8/g9cHjXE0-HQ/s400/IMG_4949.JPG
The film was entertaining as usual. I just love that line at the end about Soarin’!
Rose & Crown
We made our way over to England. Man it was hot in that phone booth!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-DHuTLHI/AAAAAAAAJQA/J69L8lEya5Y/s400/IMG_4953.JPG
Next it was off for another drink to the Rose & Crown. I have always wanted to go in here and get a drink.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-EdUY3II/AAAAAAAAJQI/GuQjo5FgRvY/s400/IMG_4955.JPG
Ariel had wine and Jasmine got beer and I tried the Welsh Dragon. Belle got a Shandy which was really just like extra fizzy beer.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-FcfWFxI/AAAAAAAAJAc/CyGYYa24N6U/s400/IMG_4957.JPG
It was pretty crowded in there but we did get a spot at the bar. We talked about what to do next and decided to take our drinks on the road.
We walked through France and had a seat to finish our drinks.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-G9YfQoI/AAAAAAAAJAg/1wk5s9_zpYE/s400/IMG_4958.JPG
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-IrBJv5I/AAAAAAAAJAs/4UGQpG5NH_U/s400/IMG_4961.JPG
Are those real?
Next we were off to America for the America movie. Half way there we saw a stand that had sushi as a snack (part of the food & wine fest) so Ariel used her snack to get a spicy tuna roll. Epcot during F&W is really the best place for snacks!
We got there in time to catch the end of the singers so that was great.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-KC0Zz_I/AAAAAAAAJA8/NGkBCGP9-hk/s400/IMG_4964.JPG
Unfortunately the movie was a bit of a buzz kill for my group, but the funniest thing happened in there! Ariel was sitting beside me and about half way through the show she turns to me all serious and says “are those real people?” I had to do everything I could to hold my laughter but I explained to her that no, those aren’t real, they are animatronics, so funny.
At this point it was about time for our dinner reservation in Morocco….things starting moving really fast from here.
Dinner and Illuminations
We were running a little behind schedule so we hot footed it to Morocco and used the ladies room and then checked in for our ADR.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-KhflpnI/AAAAAAAAJBA/Lt_NVya7GGs/s400/IMG_4965.JPG
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-Lf2dO1I/AAAAAAAAJBE/qZ42bp2jMHs/s400/IMG_4966.JPG
I was looking a little rough, so I asked Belle if I could use her hairbrush. I thought it smelled a little like chocolate when I was brushing my hair…weird…and then after I was done I noticed there was chocolate on my hand!
Remember that chocolate Mickey icecream bar that Belle had? Well, some of it ended up in her purse! My hair didn’t have any chocolate in it but it sure smelled like Hersheys for the rest of the day! LOL
Then we were seated at our table.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-Mfs3HpI/AAAAAAAAJBM/k_V9hted1q0/s400/IMG_4968.JPG
Everybody got the beef medallions but I went with the waiter’s recommendation and I had the fish something…I should have had the beef because it was really yummy, the fish was so-so.
After dinner we took a cute photo at the fountain
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-QkWxxtI/AAAAAAAAJBs/gQcVzTvcYLc/s400/IMG_4976.JPG
And then we walked over to China and went to the shop there. We kept walking and ended up in Germany and got some wine from the stand there.
Now it was starting to get dark so we put on our glow stick jewelry
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-RHo9C9I/AAAAAAAAJBw/mpzprFFq37E/s400/IMG_4977.JPG
And we staked out our spot for Illuminations. I really like the area near Germany by the boat dock for Illuminations, not too crowded and you can see everything.

Illuminations was awesome! I just get wowed everytime I see it.
After the show we made our way home and that’s it for Day 2!!!
Coming up next…our HOT day in MK!

Awesome update!
What did Jasmine and Ariel say about the orange version of M:S afterward? (You can check out my TR for our group's unforgettable experience)
We just love :goodvibes Soarin'! And margaritas, too! ;)
Wow--chocolate hair :)
Great photos of Illuminations!
Do you leave for France this coming Friday? I wish I could be like Flat Stanley or Winnie and come along for the trip! Will you be in Paris most of the time? If you like museums, you'll be in the best city in the world!! My favorite is Musee d'Orsay. IMO, Paris is also the most romantic!! Esp. the places along the Seine. If you walk behind Notre Dame and over the little bridge onto the next island, it's just breathtaking. Also, right there on the other side of the bridge is the best ice cream--Bertillion; the raspberry (framboise) is to die for!!

I think I am going to get Mickey and Minnie tattoos on my foot next time we're down there! Just silhouette's of their heads. And Minnie with her bow of course. :goodvibes
That will be cute! :cutie:
Looks like a fun day at Epcot. So glad there wasn't a bad line at TT. It can get ridiculous! :headache: I can't wait to go around World Showcase and try different drinks this upcoming trip!

Those margaritas looked muy bueno !!!! (very good) ha ha ............

Jasmine and Ariel really liked Mission Mars orange version. Actually it was one of Ariel's favorite rides. I tell people it's like the Gravitron ride that they have at festivals. If you can handle the Gravitron, you can handle orange version....I myself hate the Gravitron
We do leave for France this Friday - good memory! Technically we leave on Thurs because we'll be staying in Disney one night before our flight out. I'm trying my darndest to get this TR done before then!
We will be visiting the Loire, Burgundy, Provence, Riviera and Paris areas of France. I am really excited about seeing the country, I've only been to Provence and Riviera before so it will be mostly new to me. We're going w/ my husband's brother too, so hopefully we will get to sneak some romance in there somwhere
Thanks for your icecream recommendation! I love sweets but really it will depend on the weather...I don't know if I'll want icecream if it's 50 degrees outside
Looks like a fun day at Epcot. So glad there wasn't a bad line at TT. It can get ridiculous! :headache: I can't wait to go around World Showcase and try different drinks this upcoming trip!
You HAVE to try the margaritas inside Mexico at La Cava de Tequila. They are truly amazing and very flavorful. If you don't like the sour margarita taste, I recommend the passion fruit, it was really sweet. Otherwise, try the Durazno or Jalapeno, you won't regret it!
Sounds like day 2 was a hit !!!

I was a little nervous about Belle on Soarin' but I just kept telling her to look ahead and not down and she'd be fine. She really liked it and thought it was so cool that a ride chicken like her could experience something like that.
Great update! Sounds like you had a lot of fun at Epcot and were able to get a lot done. Soarin is my favorite...glad everyone liked it.

I don't know if the Mickey bar was good as I only got some in my hair  but Belle seemed to like it!

Hey Tink! Great update!!!:thumbsup2 Mmmmm... I really like the looks of that Tequila Bar. For some reason when people said "Tequila Bar" I envisioned a bar where all they served was shots of tequila. :confused3
And while I like tequila (and have done my fair share of shots of it :rolleyes1) I couldn't imagine going there for just that. Glad to see they had delicious Margaritas! They're my fav!
I miss Soarin' :guilty: Glad to see that everyone liked it! :goodvibes

DAY 3 – Part 1 - Hot Day at MK
Here we are on Day 3, a little drama on this one but everything turned out okay.
Get up and head to MK
This was the earliest that I wanted us to get up during the trip. We had to build in time to ride the monorail and I wanted to see the Welcome Show because I love it!
We did our best but didn’t quite make it for the Welcome Show. My friends didn’t know what they were missing, so everyone was okay with it. I knew I’d see it again soon, so no worries.
Like always, when they first open the gates it seems really crowded at MK.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-gL0zbeI/AAAAAAAAJDo/84fBTR-c_ws/s400/IMG_5006.JPG
But really it wasn’t bad at all. We didn’t wait for much all day.
We walked “right down the middle of Main St. USA ay ay.” It’s so pretty all decked out for Fall!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-fj4-GrI/AAAAAAAAJDk/MhZFFRNmLA4/s400/IMG_5005.JPG
Everybody noticed how hot and humid it was already at 9 in the morning….at this point I knew that we needed to start with an indoor ride. I’m used to the heat & humidity so believe me when I say that this was going to be a hot one.
Let’s have an adventure!
Since nobody was a huge fan of the Nemo or Imagination ride yesterday (except me!) I thought we should head toward the more exciting rides first and come back to Fantasyland later. So we walked over to Adventureland to begin.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-hTbO5XI/AAAAAAAAJDw/CS4m2LbpsNE/s400/IMG_5008.JPG
Belle said she wanted to “start slow” with a mild ride before riding BTMRR (but BTMRR is mild! LOL) so we hopped on Jungle Cruise – no lines of course but they did fill up the boat before leaving.
You can see how humid it was by the fog on my camera lens in this photo:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-imOjtqI/AAAAAAAAJD4/4UDwFqUwzqM/s400/IMG_5010.JPG
This ride ended up being a surprise for our group because Jasmine was totally cracking up the entire time! She really thought the boat captain was hilarious.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-lBRwlmI/AAAAAAAAJEI/rN_Cf7nDD8Q/s400/IMG_5014.JPG
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-kl__jvI/AAAAAAAAJEE/AfD8cTwH0qg/s400/IMG_5013.JPG
We were all laughing because of her laughing…you know how that is! This turned out to be her favorite ride! I did not see that coming.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-lpyfUzI/AAAAAAAAJEM/_exQ2sEvx90/s400/IMG_5015.JPG
Next it was POTC. It was good to be in the nice cool queue. Everybody liked this ride, it was a good start to the day.
Frontierland ho!
After POTC we were ready to grab fp’s for Splash Mountain and then ride BTMRR. Where are the crowds now?
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-nC3zI6I/AAAAAAAAJEY/4-bSKMmFgzg/s400/IMG_5017.JPG
There was about a 0 minute wait for both rides, but we didn’t want to get wet so early in the day so BTMRR it is!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-oHnDcAI/AAAAAAAAJEc/4cALSZr4Cbs/s400/IMG_5018.JPG
Belle was nervous about this ride. I suggested we sit in the back because it’s more fun back there, Belle was hesitant but went along with it….I didn’t tell her that it’s the “wildest ride in the wilderness”!
Man we had fun on that one! Once we got out of the cave area I could see that Belle was smiling. We all agreed that we’d have to return later and do that one at night.
My friends had seen the Swiss Family Robinson tree on our way into Adventureland and they wanted to do that so we walked back to that area and walked on and up up up to the tree!
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-ooNr4EI/AAAAAAAAJEg/dRIAa3yEtZM/s400/IMG_5019.JPG
You can get a really great view of Space Mountain from up there.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-qsiXDMI/AAAAAAAAJEs/97sA4PTqfKw/s288/IMG_5022.JPG
By this time we were all pretty hot and sticky and needed something to drink. So we went over to the hub to get some refreshments. I got popcorn (BEST popcorn in the world!) to share and we all got something cold to drink.
Some people were getting a wee bit cranky about the heat so I knew it was time to get us all indoors for a while. We were right by the entrance to Tomorrowland, so how about the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor?
Tomorrowland – just what the doctor ordered
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-rLxOXMI/AAAAAAAAJEw/-sPzHbGwUbY/s400/IMG_5023.JPG
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-tlrY9tI/AAAAAAAAJE8/NHYZS5r6TA0/s400/IMG_5026.JPG
maybe we should have held out for these snacks…do you think they take the DDP?
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-sVSXvNI/AAAAAAAAJQQ/F10RgETdBxg/s400/IMG_5025.JPG
Turns out the Laugh Floor was just what the doctor ordered. We all cooled off and again Jasmine loved the jokes. Everybody was impressed with how the monsters interact with the audience…cool!
Next it was the Astro Orbiter.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-uObeuMI/AAAAAAAAJFA/vPz423ro91I/s400/IMG_5027.JPG
It was pretty hot going up in the elevator but once we saw the view from our rocket ships it was totally worth it. I was surprised to find out how fast these things go at the end. They are pretty intense for a Dumbo-style ride.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-xj0NzDI/AAAAAAAAJFU/ZYMIeo4uIi0/s400/IMG_5032.JPG
Since we were in the Tomorrowland area, I suggested we do the Space Ranger Spin while we were over there.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-x_BKVzI/AAAAAAAAJFY/3FoD4YmMZrQ/s400/IMG_5033.JPG
Something weird happened on this ride. Belle sat with Jasmine and somehow Belle scored REALLY high and Jasmine only scored like 500 points. I think there was something wrong with their point system.
Unfortunately after this ride my friends had had enough of me. I spent the rest of the day in this cage.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-zhlLcmI/AAAAAAAAJFk/_Jdgy5GMNG8/s400/IMG_5037.JPG
But then they remembered that I have the MNSSHP tickets so they let me out and we went to get lunch lol.
Pinnochio and Fantasyland
We weighed the different options and decided to hit Pinnochio’s Village Haus for lunch.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-0_JiXxI/AAAAAAAAJFs/XS4qI21qC70/s400/IMG_5039.JPG
Everybody got the pizza combo except me. I’ve had the pizza and wanted to try something new. They have 2 new menu items now – a meatball sub and chicken parmesan. I got the chicken parm.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-0TtOb2I/AAAAAAAAJFo/MN0UrUyF5g4/s400/IMG_5038.JPG
It was pretty good and a large portion. The chocolate cake is amazing though. I know, it’s hard to believe, but that little cup of chocolate cake is pure heaven….so much chocolatey goodness. Ariel gave hers to Belle and me so we had double dessert yay! Remember that Ariel is crazy and doesn’t like dessert.
We were right next to IASM so after lunch we hopped on – no wait!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-1jB-HlI/AAAAAAAAJF0/FPv0-GnVGMg/s400/IMG_5040.JPG
After that we rode Snow White’s Scary Adventures
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-4KNtq1I/AAAAAAAAJGE/V_AN3PVPHuM/s400/IMG_5044.JPG
It was starting to get kinda hot again so next it was time for Philharmagic.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-5LPoa8I/AAAAAAAAJGM/Z2g_9gw0UQU/s400/IMG_5046.JPG
This was another winner with everyone. Jasmine really liked how it’s in 4-D with the smells and wind blowing.

DAY 3 – Part 2 – Our HOT Day at MK Continued
Splash and spending cash
We decided to take a mid day break on this day, so it was about time for our break at this point. We wanted to ride Splash Mountain and then head to Main St for some shopping and then head back to the resort.
Presenting our fp’s we walked right into the queue for Splash. It was about a 5 minute wait where we all talked about who would get soaked.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-7baRSmI/AAAAAAAAJGc/Dc5-hcX5mjA/s400/IMG_5050.JPG
We’re ready for you Brer Fox!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-8SQajII/AAAAAAAAJGk/L68GYdOnCzk/s400/IMG_5052.JPG
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-8iYvj7I/AAAAAAAAJGo/38JAybGFG50/s400/IMG_5053.JPG
Turns out we all got pretty soaked because the back of our ride vehicle was at the perfect spot to get splashed by the jets of water that come out when people go down the drop. So before the ride even started we were wet ha ha!
To make it to Main St. without getting too hot again we opted for the railroad.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-9WqAJ_I/AAAAAAAAJGs/lYRHPRBC5BU/s400/IMG_5054.JPG
Ahhh, back on Main St. This is one of my favorite spots in wdw. Its just so cute.

We looked around the shops and bought a few souvenirs. I got the cutest IASM vintage t-shirt with a picture of the clock on the front. Belle got a shot glass and Ariel bought two plastic cups to use on her boat.
I am totally addicted to sweets so we HAD to stop in the confectionary.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn--uO5nNI/AAAAAAAAJG0/RQUKBo4dTsY/s400/IMG_5056.JPG
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn-_i_bexI/AAAAAAAAJG8/OX5kw38o6AA/s400/IMG_5058.JPG
Jasmine bought some cotton candy…there was a lady making it fresh in the front window which was super cool. Also it smelled amazing in there.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_BLputTI/AAAAAAAAJHE/NOiPdY572t8/s400/IMG_5060.JPG
As we left there was a marching band on Main St. so we watched them for a few minutes. And then as we were leaving who do we run into? Snow White! How cool is that? That is another reason why I love Main St., you just never know what you’re going to find there!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_CkwA6tI/AAAAAAAAJHQ/vjXBPRnccJs/s400/IMG_5062.JPG
Now it was back on the monorail and off to our resort. We were pretty tired and pretty sweaty by now. Unfortunately this was one of those rare times when the monorail was delayed mid-trip because they were switching one off the tracks….15 minutes later we were at the TTC!
Your clothes are gone? What?
Back at the resort we all took naps and showers…not necessarily in that order! And crazy as this is, Jasmine takes a run! Where did she get that energy?
About a half hour later, Ariel comes over to my room and says “Can you help me look for something? I can’t find these clothes that I put in our room, I think the housekeeper might have thrown them away.”
I know what you’re thinking. Why would a housekeeper throw away someone’s clothes? Well, turns out that Ariel grabbed a clean garbage bag and put her dirty clothes in there….including her favorite dress! Not her finest moment. The clothes bag wasn’t sitting next to the garbage, but a housekeeper in a hurry might have grabbed it in a rush and tossed it in with the rest of the garbage bags, simple mistake.
After searching her room we did not find the bag of clothes! Please don’t let this ruin our trip!
So we make a call to housekeeping and it turns out the person who cleaned their room is still on her rounds. In fact, she’s only about 2 doors down. Ariel checks in with the housekeeper and asks her about the clothes and……the didn’t get tossed! The housekeeper hadn’t disposed of them yet so she got all her stuff back! Whew that was a close one! Crisis averted!
And that was our big drama for the afternoon. Note to self, never put good clothes into a garbage bag unless you hide it in a drawer or something LOL.
And that’s all for now. Next update will include the Wave MNSSHP and another drama….stay tuned!

Okay, I will try that margarita! I love them!
Looks like a fun MK day. It's my favorite park!
I love the Jungle Cruise! We always end up being the only ones laughing. We also sometimes say the jokes with the skipper.
Ugh, I hate cramming into that elevator for Astro Orbiter!
Woo! You ate at Pinnochio's. One of our favorite CS places to eat at the MK.

Looks like you had a great day at MK (sorry you missed the RD show--I can hardly wait when I hear that song and see the train pull up...I'm as excited as a little kid :yay:) And everybody had fun, even on the "scary" rides! :thumbsup2
I bet you're going to visit some of the castles along the Loire? Wow, you've seen lots of France already--cool! Next trip, I really want to go to Provence. Do you, DH and DBIL travel on your own or with a tour group?

Loving your trip report!
The clothes in the trashbag reminded me of the trip when my daughter wrapped her retainers in a napkin and left them on the nightstand at Pop. Needless to say housekeeping threw the retainers away thinking they were trash. Unfortunately we never found the retainers even though I was down in the trash room digging through bags. I felt like Steve Martin in the movie Parenthood when he was digging through the dumpster at the pizza place looking for his son's retainers. Glad Jasmine was able to get her cothes back.

Yeah based on earlier reactions to things I was really surprised about Jasmine loving the Jungle Cruise. She even asked if we could do it during MNSSHP...but too bad, it's closed for the party.
I love Pinnochio's as well, but a lot of people don't. I guess it's b/c all the pizza in WDW is the same no matter where you go, but I don't care!

Yes, the clothes in the garbage bag had mine & Ariel's hearts beating doubletime...but thankfully we were able to recover them. I guess that's our little pixie dust for this trip!
It was a bummer to miss the opening show, but I know I'll see it again soon ;)
How did you know? We are going to visit the chateaux in the Loire - Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry and d'Azay. We often take cruises but we are doing this trip on our own. We've done Italy on our own and also some time in Spain and Austrai.
Thank goodness my husband took French from grade school through high school (and his brother even took it through college) so we should be fine to get by. I only took 3 years in high school and I was a dreadful student!

Hi all,
Well I've just been so busy today that I don't think I'm going to be able to finish this TR before I leave tomorrow morning for France. :sad2: I won't be back until Nov 2nd, so hopefully my TR won't expire because I truly do want to finish it...I'm not the type to start something and not finish it.
I've sent an email to OhMari the moderator to see if my TR can be preserved. :wizard:
So, if you'll stick with me, I'll be back in November to finish this TR. If you're going to wdw before I get back...I hope you have a fab time! Otherwise I'll meet you on the flip side!
Thanks for reading :flower3:

The Jalepeno one is a little spicy, but is actually pretty refreshing so it's a balanced taste...if you're worried about the spice, maybe you could ask them to do it mild?

So where I left us was in the room just after Ariel almost lost her clothes. After showers and a good nap (and a run for Jasmine who is crazy btw) we were ready to go to the Wave for dinner.
Let's ride the Wave!
We hopped in the car and drove to the TTC, got on the resort monorail and exited at the Contemporary.
I'd never been in the Contemporary before. It's pretty wild how you take escalators to get to different floors. It took a few minutes for us to figure out where the Wave was, but we found the signs and followed them.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_DBPcUSI/AAAAAAAAJHU/kKOfPq2BRlA/s400/IMG_5063.JPG
We went here on a recommendation from fellow diser, Lynne, and I was really excited to try it.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_DlZMJXI/AAAAAAAAJHY/ClQBjfqbR8Y/s400/IMG_5064.JPG
We checked in and then went for a drink at the bar, but "BZZZZ!" our pager went off before we ordered our drinks.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_EGA0P9I/AAAAAAAAJHc/Wp26lU3A3mI/s400/IMG_5065.JPG
We were at a nice table in the main dining area. It is really cool decor at the Wave, very grown up feeling too.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_FUNfK7I/AAAAAAAAJHk/41FyGB0sNIo/s400/IMG_5067.JPG
I already knew I wanted the filet, and we all ended up ordering it. Jasmine also ordered an appetizer, but I don't remember it.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_KrH3IPI/AAAAAAAAJIE/O4lEuWmnoE8/s400/IMG_5075.JPG
We had margaritas and martinis as our drinks - I also tried the rasberry smoothie which was really yum.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_I3I3Q3I/AAAAAAAAJH4/6yBtEVWMQGU/s400/IMG_5072.JPG
And for dessert (always my favorite!) I got the indulgent trio. Here it is!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_LCwzrmI/AAAAAAAAJII/eQB26lPVos0/s400/IMG_5076.JPG
Party Time!
After we stuffed ourselves, we boarded the monorail for MK and MNSSHP. We arrived around 7ish, so we weren't there for the very start of the party, but no problems there.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_MIULRwI/AAAAAAAAJIQ/GVLJsnYro3k/s400/IMG_5078.JPG
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_MTvXKnI/AAAAAAAAJIU/htsUdjnTQoA/s400/IMG_5079.JPG
I was SO impressed at how they transformed MK into a cute/spooky Halloween-land! I think that just seeing the decor was worth the ticket price to me, it was just awesome!
We started walking around and decided to ride BTMRR again at night. It was really fun......and then the drama begins!
Okay, so I thought that my friends would want to stay until the end of the party right? After all, we're young...and I heard that the 2nd parade is really less crowded than the first. So, I had planned on us seeing the 2nd parade.
It turns out that one of my friends did not want to stay out late and she wanted to see the 1st parade. Okay, that's fine, but what? the 1st parade starts in 10 minutes!
So, we searched for a space, but you know how it goes. We couldn't find anything. Now here's where I become a brat. I did NOT want to see the parade through people. See, I'm pretty short and so unless I can get up front, the parade is kinda ruined for me. And, this is the one thing that I REALLY wanted to see at MNSSHP.
So in an effort to make peace I say, let's skip the parade and ride some rides, and if we want to do it later, we'll do it. That settled it but there was a bit of tension in the air between me and her for the next 30 minutes or so.
After "the discussion" we went off to ride the Haunted Mansion. Again, very cool stuff! I just love how they decorated it and how the cm's were in extra gear, plus the HM is just so fitting for the spooky atmosphere.
Still kind of mad, we went to ride the teacups....and, all of that spinning just makes you giggle! Totally broke the tension and everybody was happy again. I guess you just can't spin in a teacup and be mad at the same time!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_QhKqMkI/AAAAAAAAJIw/kCL7wpia218/s400/IMG_5086.JPG
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_SHSMUVI/AAAAAAAAJI4/B5ZckTNURzE/s400/IMG_5088.JPG
Next we went to ride the Astro Orbiters at night b/c that sounded neat. We had to wait a little, but the view was worth it...very cool.
And then we made our way to Main St. to get some sweets at the confectionary and (maybe) head home. We were in there a few minutes when "boom!" we heard the fireworks, so of course we went out to see them.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_UY83n_I/AAAAAAAAJJM/42MKYbFbwqk/s400/IMG_5092.JPG
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_U7thyEI/AAAAAAAAJJQ/__df4VWhpag/s400/IMG_5093.JPG
These were some of the best fireworks I've ever seen and it was really neat to see them from Main St. b/c I usually see the fireworks from other places. They were really amazing & everyone enjoyed them. Jasmine was like "wow! wow!"
At this point, we all talked and it turned out that everyone (except one of us) wanted to stay for the parade. Majority rules, so we sat on the curb and waited about 45 minutes for the parade.
First came the headless horseman. Sorry I have no pictures, my camera was kinda freaking out. And then about 10-15 minutes later, the parade started!
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_Y9O3CPI/AAAAAAAAJJo/cq5o6ZktMjU/s400/IMG_5099.JPG
And then my camera told me that the battery was dead! So not a lot of photos from the parade.
One minute after the parade ended, Jasmine said "Get up! Quick! Look behind you!" And I realized that there was a huge hoard of people coming at us!! We hightailed it to the exit as fast as we could without actually running and we got to the monorail & got home without any crowds.
All in all, MNSSHP was very cool. I would totally do it again, but next time w/ my husband and we'd go to ALL of the special parties and stuff.
I'm not sure everyone in my group got the "specialness" of the party. Everybody thought it was cool, but it probably wasn't worth the ticket price for the few special things that we did.
Up next.....Animal Kingdom and our night out on the town!!!

BUT this trip was really 99% wonderful so I can get over a little disagreement about the parade, you know? Its pretty minor in the grand scheme of things...plus I got my way and we saw the parade anyways! :rotfl:

Animal Kingdom - Part 1
After pushing everyone along for rope drop every day, this was the day that I said "you guys tell me what time you want to be there." So we decided to wake up around 8:30 and we got to the park around 9:45.
My tour guide days are over!
I also decided to not do any planning on this day...I wanted a day off you know? So I told my friends that they could pick what they wanted to do and I would tell them how to get there.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_axERu9I/AAAAAAAAJJ4/YnaBKHkV36Q/s400/IMG_5103.JPG
First we stopped in a shop to look for a t-shirt for Ariel...she wanted a pink Mickey shirt. We didn't find it at this store.

Everybody was really impressed with the theming at AK. I love it too, there are just so many little details!
Jasmine really took the lead and she decided that we should get FP's for Everest first.
Expedition Everest
We headed to Asia and Expedition Everest and the standby line was short so we picked up FP's and then got into the standby line.
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_dXcd7lI/AAAAAAAAJKI/mkYI40WL3no/s400/IMG_5107.JPG
At this point you guys know that Belle is a huge chicken on rides, so it was pre-determined that she would use the chicken exit when we got up to the front. We all tried to convince her to do it, but she was not having any of it!
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_eCC_4jI/AAAAAAAAJKM/e8Y3pHCSOl8/s400/IMG_5108.JPG
Ariel, Jasmine and me rode in the front two cars of the ride and it was AWESOME! Yeti moved and everything, that is one cool ride!
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Next we wanted to get FP's for Kali River Rapids, but we couldn't get them yet. So we stopped to look at the monkeys/apes/whatever because Ariel loves them.

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_iQssw1I/AAAAAAAAJKs/Y1NICSJBeJc/s400/IMG_5115.JPG
Then we moved on to the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love those flying foxes (aka huge bats) that are in there! But I only got pictures of these little guys
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rV2-ENglFwk/Ssn_kBrny_I/AAAAAAAAJK4/dXQbWk-hvZo/s400/IMG_5118.JPG
Lunch
By this time we could grab FP's for Kali and we were starting to get hungry so we went to Flame Tree BBQ for some lunch.
