It is one of my number one rides, it's hard to pick between that and POTC. It just makes me feel so nostalgic, even as a kid it was my favorite. This video just makes me want to be there right now.

Thanks for posting the link. I love HM in WDW but I've never been to DL. It's really great to see how the original looks.

I couldnt' go to the Haunted Mansion DL event, but I was able to snag some cool Shag merchandise with a Haunted Mansion theme. I got a set of glasses and a bag, but there was lots of cool stuff. I bought some pins from the "o-pin house" that were still in DCA.
The Haunted Mansion used to scare me (I blame my brothers) but it is now one of my favorites. Thanks for posting the link!:cool1:

Thanks for posting the link! The Haunted Mansion is by far my favorite ride. I sadly haven't been able to head over to DL but, I will ASAP, I just need to branch out of the East coast.

I've never been to DL, but I'm planning on big trip out west in the next couple of years. The whole trip will be planned around a visit to the HM while it's decorated in the NBC overlay. My DS6 and I love that movie, and after seeing a Travel Channel show that featured the "transformation" I knew I had to go! The WDW HM is in my top 3 rides!!! Can't wait till Sept.!

I just got back from my first trip to Disneyland. Seeing the huge plantation facade of the HM was great, especially since I was born and raised in New Orleans. But I still like the WDW version better :)
There didn't seem to be much jazz about the HM 40th anniversary, though. I actually can't recall seeing a single notification in the park.

There's a BIG big BIG merchandise event on Sept. 9th (9/9/09, 999, 999 Happy Haunts), that's celebrating the 40th.
Fingers crossed that we see the Hatbox Ghost make it's return in January next year :thumbsup2

That was taken 5 months before I was born! I rode HM for the first time when I was 5 and think I spent the entire ride with my head in my Dad's armpit, lol. Ever since then it's been in my top 3 favorite rides. I'm 34 now and haven't had to stick my head in anyones armpit for a while now;)

Hi tiggerpoohbounce,
Thank you very much for the video. That is my all time favorite ride. When the changes were made to the one at DW I was afraid I was not going to like it as much though I ended up loving it more. I can not get enough HM! :thumbsup2

I was 14 :)
I collected coke bottles (back when they were glass) and got the deposit on them, and saved up the $20 to get the camera and some film. I thought I was something.
You might find this entertaining also.

Great pics, Conan! I need to get some of my slides from '76 scanned in.
HM is my number one fave in DL & WDW.
And I can't believe $9 for monorail, gate, and 12 rides!!

I love, Love, LOVE the Haunted Mansion! :hmghost::hmghost::hmghost:
I've been lucky enough to ride at both WDW & DL and they are both awesome. I think I like the DL version just a touch better, but the new additions at WDW make it a very close call.
I do wish they hadn't completely changed the bride story. :bride: While I think it's very cool visually, and that attic definitely needed an update, I don't like that they just changed the whole thing like that. I miss Emily Cavanaugh and her untimely death in the trunk...
Where did Constance come from? Who is she? :confused3

Since this thread is only tangentially related to the MK's Haunted Mansion, I've moved it to the Theme Parks Community board. :)

Did you see on youtube the link to the video of the family that got to spend the night in HM as part of the 40th anniversary? Pretty cool - I would LOVE to do that! But I'd want to be able to wander around on my own, that would be awesome.
