They look awesome! I was just wondering what type of paper did you print them on? I used cardstock last year and I think it is too heavy so I was wondering if my regular 24 lb paper would be thick enough. Thanks.

I used white cardstock which I cut down to size. I wanted it to be "sturdy".

Ha Ha... now you will be subjected to all my How to questions :lmao:

What size did you make the paper? I like how you have a large white border rather than the picture taking up the WHOLE page!

Awesome work! I'm leaving on the 21st and wondering if I have time for this obession!

I'm more than happy to help! I was in your "shoes" at the beginning!!!

I used regular 8.5x11 cardstock which I cut down w/ a papercutter AFTER I printed them all out. The white cards are 5 x 7 and the actual printout is 4 x 6. I left a 1 inch gap at the top in order to have the binding put on at KINKO's.

Yes, I glued scrapbook paper onto 5 x 7 chipboard for the front & back covers.

Told you I had ALOT of questions LOL!

You are leaving your paper size at 8.5x11. You are going to have to cut down your paper AFTER you print out the cards.

In WORD, you need to go to PAGE SET-UP and change your margins to:
Top: .75
Bottom: 1"
Right: .5
Left: .5

Make sure it is set to "PORTRAIT" not Landscape. After you print it out, I used a paper cutter to cut it down to a 5 x 7 size. But FIRST you need to print out the cards. The actual print of the autograph card is 4 x 6

The designs were made by a designer here on DIS. After they did them for me, I uploaded the picture to Walgreens and printed it out as a 4 x 6 picture. KINKOS charged me $5.49 each to bind.

Erica,

She does not sell her work. It is against Disney Copyright to use their images to make money off of it. If you are using it for your own personal use, then its ok. The designers here on DIS are WONDERFUL! They take their own time & energy to create these BEAUTIFUL designs!

Good point about the copyright, I hadn't thought of it like that. I was just impressed by the amount of work that went into this, and didn't feel right just taking it. But if that's expected/ allowed, it's different - thanks!

Your books look terrific! Have fun with them. The characters really do make a fuss!!!!

I actually made these pages for my DD's book ..... this will be our third homemade book. When you are on the boards and see people requesting and using the designs, you begin to think that you will see this stuff EVERYWHERE. Homemade stuff is still pretty rare and it'll really make your kids feel special when characters fuss and cm's and guests comment on them!

Did you pick some of your kids favorite and then that's the page that the characters will sign? Previously I uploaded and saved the same images. They are amazing! I believe mine are saved in a Picasa program. How did you get them into word to be able to print them on cardstock? I am also interested, did you print these yourself or have them printed somewhere else? I will be one of those with 100 questions too, but I think my kids would get a kick out of something so cute!

Hi! Sorry....about not answering sooner. We have spent the last week moving so I have spotty computer service. We are doing a total GUT rehab on our house & adding a 2nd floor. I should be up & running in a day or 2.

The actual autograph cards were printed on 8.5 x 11 cardstock that I cut down w/ a paper cutter. The autograph cards were printed out in a 4 x 6 size but the paper itself was cut into a 5 x 7 size....note the white borders around the autograph card.

CHIPBOARD is a thick cardboard that I used for the front & back covers to make them sturdy. You can buy them at HOBBY LOBBY in a pack of 2 or 4 but I just bought mine on EBAY. LOTS CHEAPER!!

I printed them out directly onto CARDSTOCK. I had to use the back loading paper section of my printer though. THe front loading section would not take the thick paper.

I found a link that listed all the characters & the chances of actually getting their autograph. How "available" they are. SO I have 60 pages for my daughter & 70 for my son. If I don't get all the autographs then when I get home, I'll just pull those pages out. I also included some blanks w/ nice border inthe back of the book in case we came across a character I did not have.

Natalie,

My kids can't wait! I've got all of my custom outfits for my son & daughter ready and waiting in their suitcase! We've decided NOT to do MNSSHP this time around. THey are only 3 & 5 are NOT going to make it staying up that late. We plan on doing it our next trip in a year or 2 when they are a bit older. I'm sad b/c I'd like to do it but then I'd be quite upset if I spent all the money & they are either too crabby or are sleeping in the stroller. The HEAT in Sept. tends to knock them (as well as me) out for a loop!
