Hi everyone. DD and I are visiting WDW for the first time in October. Free DDP included for both of us.

I read the rule about kids 3-9 being required to order off the child's menu when one is available, which is at pretty much ALL CS restaurants except for Casey's and maybe one other. Seems reasonable. (Except for those child menu choices being pitiful, but that's neither here nor there.) I've also seen in other threads that all the CS credits are pooled together so you can't tell how many adults vs. children. Which leads me to a small conundrum...

I hadn't planned on DD and I necessarily both ordering CS meals at the same time or even the same place. We both like to eat smaller meals but more often so my expectation was that we'd order an adult CS and share, then maybe later the child CS and share. Or in the case of some days when we're not that hungry, just share an adult CS and save the child CS for another day like before we head back to the airport.

If they don't distinguish on your ticket or receipt how many adult vs. child CS credits we have left how am I supposed to keep track? Just do the best I can, start taking notes, be more routine with our eating habits? ;)

Based on what I've heard, I'm a bit leery about ordering a CS meal at the end of our stay and getting accused of trying to cheat or steal if we order off the wrong menu and don't know what we have left.

The Creative Community board here has creative punch cards that you can carry if you want to keep track, otherwise you do the best you can to keep track on your own.

Here's a link to the Creative Community (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=40)

You need to keep track of the credits yourself. Credits for which you paid a child's price, according to dining plan rules, are to be used to buy meals from a children's menu, if the restaurant has a children's menu.

Dang. I kind of wish they'd track them on the ticket like they do for TS.

Thanks for the info!

If you have an iPhone or iTouch, there is a really great app called WDW Pal. You tell it the names of the people, what kind of plan, and how many nights. After that, you delete a credit each time. It is reprogrammable, so it is useful for more than one trip. I can't wait to try it in 98 days!!!

we tried to use the punch cards, but got so confused:confused3:rotfl2:
last year they printed on the bottom of our recipt, dont they do that anymore?
we have upgraded our 7yrold to an adult to avoid these issues, she wouldnt eat off the kids menus anyway as they are so poor, and it only cost me a few dollars, a lot less than paying OOP.

No, I guess they don't track CS separately; just TS. Keeping a punch card tally seems like it would get annoying after a while. (What do you even punch it with?) I don't have a smart phone either but hope to have one before long! Probably after this trip, though.

I'm pretty sure we're just going to do the best we can and it'll work out close enough. We're not that big of eaters anyway.

i NEVER DID ANY KIND OF DINING PLAN BEFORE. I just booked my daughters sweet 16, 6 of us going, and signed up for the CS plan. I didn't even think about keeping track. I thought it did it for you somehow. OMG...what should I do, I have 4 teenagers with me...:confused3

They will all have adult credits. Child credits are for kids aged 3-9. The credits will be divided by the room (s). Make sure they all know they only get two CS meals per night so they don't use up extra credits for breakfast.

A few good kids choices:

Caseys in the MK

The fish CS location at Epcot in UK

Sunshine seasons, lots of kids choices

WPEC in DTD No childs breakfast menu, in May at least and their childs pizza is pretty close in size to an adults

Yak and Yeti CS if your daughter likes fried rice and egg rolls

Sommerfest, in Germany, if she likes hot dogs or bratwurst, no kids menu

Yakitorihouse, childrens teriyaki chicken

Main street bakery, no childrens menus, good sandwhiches

And at HS you could get an adult pizza/salad lunch and split it

Hope this helped

We're travelling with 2 adults and 2 children (both under 9) and I didn't know we'd have to keep track of CS meals. This seems like a huge inconvenience!

Can you not ask the cast memeber to manully write the number of kids/adults CS meals you have left on the receipt? This seems like it would be an easier way to go about tracking the meals.
