SO I am usually not *this* far behind in my reports, but due to school starting and some family emergencies, things have been put off, but, here I am, ready to talk about one of my favorite things...disney food!

I will do each restaurant individually and put actual cost (if we were paying oop) and will tally everything up, and at the end I will post all of my savings, etc.

here we go!!!!!

these are the places I will be reviewing:
Gasparillas
CRT Dinner
LTT lunch
Narcoossees Dinner (twice)
Le Cellier lunch
WCC dinner
50's prime time lunch
crystal palace dinner
GF cafe lunch (twice)
Coral Reef dinner
Citricos Dinner
Yak and Yeti Lunch
1900 PF breakfast

WHEW!
also note we were staying royal palm club concierge so we ate all of our breakfasts but one in the lounge, hence why all the meals are lunch/dinner except departure day.

May 26th, 2009
Gasparillas Grill at the GF.
we were suppsoed to eat at the Plaza, but due to a flight delay and a MONSOON at check in we decided to stay "home" and bite the bullet and use a TS credit and eat at Gasparillas. we were starving so we didn't really care at this point!
since we were on the deluxe plan we used the opportunity to get our mugs, and we filled those up and got other drinks to put in the refrigerator for later with the drink portion of the meal.
we both got pizza. here is a quick pic
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/015.jpg

for dessert we used the awesome ice cream machine with hot fudge and sprinkles!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/016.jpg

2 pizzas = $11.78
2 powerades = $4.70
2 ice creams = aprox. $6.00
TOTAL: $22.48 = tax = $23.94

this was a good meal. we were so hungry so it wouldn't have mattered if it was a cardboard box! The pizza was good. The ice cream melts really fast so I suggest to do what we did, eat first then go back and get your ice cream.
It wasn't very crowded and we had a nice inside seat by the window (it was pouring outside or we would have sat out there)
overall this gets :):):):) out of 5

Cinderella's Royal Table
2 TS credits

While we were waiting for our time to check in to the podium it started pouring so everyone of course ran to the castle for cover. we were trying to squeeze inbetween everyone to get to the podium, and surprisingly, we were told we could go in! we were led to a roomw here we waited in line for cinderella. she came out after only abour 2 minutes. we were 2nd in line for pics.
after we took pics we sat and waited about 5 minutes and were brought upstairs. thats a lot of steps! we were seated in a 2 person table in the corner by the window. we were happy with the seat!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/040.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/041.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/042.jpg

our waiter was an older man and he was...well, he just always seemed in a very big hurry and I felt rushed. I told him I was very picky and if i could have some kdis grapes and cheese or something for my appetizer I would be a very happy camper and he kind of made it like ti was some big deal and inconvenience to him. but, he brought it out.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/044.jpg
bobby got the corn and crab soup
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/043.jpg

of course I was very happy with my appetizer. DH said his was good too.

for entrees DH got the lamb and I got the pork chop. DH absolutely loved his, and I just thought mine was ok.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/045.jpg

the little show the fairy godmother does was really cute. she did a good job.
by this time we got dessert, we both got the cream cheese buckle. YUM! we loved loved this!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/046.jpg
so, overall, service was just ok, DH loved the food and I thought it was just ok. will we go back? probably not for awhile, there are other 2 TS places I would rather try.
:) :) :) out of 5

2 preset dinner at $57.19 = $114.38 = tax = $121.80

oh, man, glad to see your review. Great seats in the castle, sorry you didn't enjoy your food more - but isn't it sweet to be seated by the windows in there...we really felt "royal" with window seats.

The rain that week was awful, wasn't it. (Our week overlapped with yours - we were there 5/23-5/30.) Monsoons for sure that week. Wettest May we'd ever seen (that was our 5th may trip.) We've had wet before, but not the relentless pouring-rain for hours. Bet you did some serious puddle jumping, right! Worst puddles we saw were at Epcot...man, we thought we better check for gators, some of those puddles were so wide & so deep.

Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch

we had never eaten here before so we were very excited! we only had to wait about 5 minutes.

we were brought to the left and to the back by a little window in a little nook, it was really cute and quaint.
the location was the only good thing about this meal. the food, great, service, A-W-F-U-L

first, it took 12 minutes (yes I timed it) for our waiter to come and get our drink orders. then he came back and ran off again before we could order! then, we ordered and didnt see him again for a long time. someone else brought out food out. when he fainlyl came we asked him for cranberry sauce (we had turkey) and he forgot it, and then it finally came 15 minutes later. Our drinks stayed empty...it was ridiculous. then he took our dessert order....15 minutes later...he comes bacj to take our dessert orders. we were like "um...you already took them...." then someone else brought our dessert out 10 minutes later. then we asked for the bill...took another 15 minutes. we were SO MAD we were so close to just walking our several times. we had to go hunt the man down to pay him. we were so bored we were taking pictures of each other! it was like a 2 hour meal. for lunch. ridiculous.

but, the food was really good, so I would try it again as long as I didn't have him as a waiter!
for appetizers bobby got the chowder and I got the fried cheese, yum! my fried cheese was very good and bobby liked his chowder.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/072.jpg

we both got the turkey dinner for the entree
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/073.jpg

for dessert I got some kind of chocolate sundae and bobby got the strawberry dessert and it was SO GOOD!! I normally am not a huge strawberry dessert fan but this was good!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/074.jpg

its a shame I didnt really enjoy my food b/c I was so mad! the turkey was very good, as were the potatoes. so food wise, this place gets a
:) :) :) :) of five, service it gets a :) because the hostess was nice ha!

fried cheese- $5.49
soup- $6.99
2 turkeys @ $14.99 = $29.98
strawberry shortcake- $5.49
brownie sundae- $5.99
sprite-aprox. $2.50
coke- aprox $2.50

TOTAL: $57.94 plus tax: $61.70

Narcoossees- my parents actual anniversary

I was so excited about this meal! we asked to be seated by the window. We got my favorite server Debbie and they had made menus for them that said happy anniversary.
we got free champagne!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/104.jpg

since I don't like their appetizers we got the shrimp and crab cakes for bobby
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/105.jpg
he loves both of them and has a hard time choosing so it's nice he can get both

I got the filet which was WONDERFUL. whatever sauce they put on there I just love. the potatoes were so good, too. Bobby of course got the lobster which he loved as always. I think my dad got lobster and my mom got surf n turf
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/107.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/108.jpg

we had a great time laughing and talking, it was my favorite meal of the whole trip. it was just really nice and fun. my parents had just gotten there that day so we are all so excited to start the trip.

my parents got up at 4 to catch their 7 am flight so they were exhausted. my dad fell asleep at the table!

for dessert I got the sorbet and bobby got the cheesecake and we shared. the sorbet is really light and refreshing and the cheesecake is of course SO GOOD
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/110.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/111.jpg

oh also I met a diser! she came up to my table and said she had been debating on coming over but just knew I was heatherlynn from the dis. we talked for a minute, she was so nice. (summersalt, not sure ont he spelling!)she said they tried narcoossees on my reccomendation and enjoyed it so that made me happy! my parents got a HUGE kick out of someone recognizing me from online!

Le Cellier

lunch was at le cellier, and we had not been here in awhile because we hate how close all the two persont ables are together. well....same thing..nothing changed as far as that goes. we were basically seated on top of another 2 person table. very akward! Our server was awesome, she was so great and attentive and extremly personable.

she told us we could get a non refillable smoothie for our drink on the DP. I got the most amazing drink! I got the pina colada/lave smoothie and DH got a strawberry smoothie. his was good, too, but mine was better!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/136.jpg
also we of course had and loved the bread!

for appetizers I got the cheddar cheese soup, and it tasted better than last time, so that was good. bobby got the duck appetizer and really liked it, he is all about trying new things.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/137.jpg

for entrees we both got the mushroom filet but since we don't really like mushrooms they just made a reg. filet and put it on top of the cream cheese potatoes which I thought were just ok.

so I ordered my steak medium well, and it was BLOOD red. not just a little, it was medium rare. no way the cook did that on purpose, it had to have been a mix up, I could not eat it! We told the waitress and she was really nice about it.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/138.jpg

for dessert bobby got the chocolate "moose" and I got coconut sorbet which sounded interesting and was surprisingly very good! it was very refreshing and didn't taste crunchy like coconut shavings.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/139.jpg

we were very pleased with the service, but not a fan of how close the tables are for 2 people. We enjoyed the smoothies a lot and the appetizers but were not as pleased with our steaks (esp compared to narcoossees from the night before) and dessert was good but not "WOW"

Le cellier gets :):):):):) for service and :):):) and 1/2 for food

strawberry shake- approx. $4.50
pina coloda shake- approx. $4.50
soup-$6.99
duck-$12.99
steak-$25.99
steak-$25.99
sorbet-$6.49
moose-approx. $6.50
TOTAL: $93.95 + tax = $100.01

Whispering Canyon Cafe

let me start by saying we love LOVE this place. We always asked to be seated in the main dining room. We love to have fun, and are big hams, so we really enjoy the fun server interaction. On this night, my favorite server was there and I was so happy to have my whole family experience this place! (it was their first time)

I ordered my favorite, cotton candy milkshake! I think I had 3! DH got the strawberry
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/177.jpg

everyone loved my shake and kept taking it!
a server walked up to me with a GIANT fork and asked me to hold it for her. I said sure, and held it for about 5 mintues and she came back and said "thank you" and just took it. too funny!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/178.jpg

my dad drinks a lot of liquid at meals and our server saw this and brought his the HUGE glass of tea. on teh other hamd, my BIL asked him for a "little bit more coke" and he brought coke out to him in this TINY little glass!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/183.jpg

we all ordered the skillet except for my sister
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/179.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/182.jpg

we had a blast. we did the hokey pokey, watched the pony races, and I told our server it was my parents anniversary and he did a special wine toast for them in front of the whole restaurant!
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/186.jpg

we were so stuffed everyone got dessert to go, except I got the fruit and we all shared
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/185.jpg

we laughed so much during this meal and had a great time and continue to go back again and again for good food and great service! this place is a must for us!

the skiller was of course so good. the mashed potatoes are so amazing and the meat is so good, and they bring you BBQ sauce, yum! DH loves the ribs and the corn bread best I think!

2 skillet- $53.99
milkshake-$5.99
milkshake- $5.99
fruit- $6.99
cheesecake- $6.99
subtotal: $79.94 TOTAL: $85.14
:):):):):) for service and food!

Enjoying your reviews...thanks for sharing. I love Narcoosee's, one trip we ate there 2x and had it for room service on our last night (it was great my son went to sleep early so my husband and I were able to have a wonderful dinner at our room in GF and then watch the fireworks at our balcony...it was a great meal and a great ending to a Disney trip). We never went to LeCellier and I'm still up on the air if we should try. My husband is not into red meat but I hear alot of people really like it...I'm not sure if its the hype is the reason I want to try but my husband tells me there is so much good restaurant in Epcot he rather try somewhere else. I guess I have to see if I can get a reservation in our Dec trip.

Wow Narcooses looks amazing. Glad you had a good time at WCC. We have been twice and both times our waiter has been just so so with the antics. We seem to be the table right next to the one having a blast like you did. My favorite part of Le Cellier is the cheese soup. I could just have a huge bowl of it with pretzel bread for dipping!

Great that you could all vacation together with your parents for their anniversary! Glad to hear the meal was the best this trip!:goodvibes

I think you have finally convinced me I need to try Whispering Canon. I think the kids would love it. They are *huge* ketchup fans so I am gonna make sure not to tell them in advance what to expect. And have my camcorder at the ready!;)

oh your room service meal sounds fabulous! I willhave to remember that for a future trip, thanks for the tip!
have you been to coral reef? we prefer this to Le cellier. Le cellier is not bad by any means, but if we are only going to eat once in EPCOT it is gonna be CR!

I am sorry! I know this sounds silly but when we go to WCC we always have two requests 1.)be in the main room 2.) have a FUN waiter. I always tell the front desk we are willing to wait for these requests to be met! one time we had a 5 min wait, and one time 30 min, but it was worth it!

Great updates. And enjoying hearing a bit about your trip too!

you need to try it at least once. its so fun! the kids seem to love the pony races and things of that nature. they also give you crayons, and one time a family asked for a red crayon so everyone that ahd one had to bring it over to them (like the ketchup) that was fun!

Loving your reviews. I'm so happy to read your review of WCC. I've booked it w/ my GG . I'm hoping it will be lots of fun. We have yet to make it over there. I'm not telling the rest of our group anything about the place.

We're also trying Narcoosee's for the first time this trip as well. DH and DD LOVE lobster so we thought we'd try it.

Did you ever talk to a manager about te service at LTT? Just wondering if they did anything for you. We had this happen at Prime Time last year. We waited over 20 min. for a refill on our DD's milk. I finally asked another server for help. Then we waited 25 min for the bill. All in all we were in there for 2 hours and missed the last showing of LMA. A manager came over and credited us back a TS credit and gave DD a milkshake to go! I am not one to say anything but glad I did this day.

50's prime time lunch
I was excited about this one b/c of the "fun" atmosphere and milkshakes! we get there and have to wait about 5-10 minutes and are seated all the wya in the back right squished in a corner at this two perosn table against a partition thing and a wall.

we were adjacent to another 2 person table and then there were two big tables in our little "room" as well. our waiter was really funny...with everyone but us! here we are ready to ham it up and have fun and I don't know if its b/c we weren't in a big group, but he was't "fun" with us like he was with the 2 big tables RIGHT NEXT TO US. he was like a different person, it was really frustrated b/c we wanted to have fun, too! the food was good, malts yummy, dessert good, service was rreealllyyy ssllooowww felt like it took forever and I was antsy to go by time we were ordering dessert.

so, we were a little disapointed, b/c I have had great experiences here...but this wasn't one. we may go back eventually but probably not anytime soon.

appetizers were shrimp cocktail and crab cake
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/220.jpg

entrees were pot roast (me) and fried chicken (DH)
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/221.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/222.jpg

for dessert I got smores and DH got the cobbler I think
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/223.jpg

we also got strawberry and vanilla malts, which were excellent. vanilla was the best!
the pot roast was good, very tender and moist. bobby liked his chicken. he said the appetizers were just so so. the smores were good but they are so sticky!

shrimp cocktail-$9.99
crab cakes-$8.49
pot roast-$16.99
chicken-$14.99
cobbler-$7.49
smores-$4.79
vanilla malt- $4.99
strawberry shake- $4.99

TOTAL: $72.72 + tax = $77.44
:) :) :) out of 5 stars.

Great reviews! We are considering LTT for lunch. DD is a very picky light eater and I think she would really like the cheese sticks for her meal. What else is that served with the cheese sticks (other than the marinara of course!)

And if we do go, here's hoping we get a different server than you did :goodvibes
THANKS!

it was some other kind of cheese thing...lol! i don't know how to explain it. it had batter on the outside similar to that of a corn fritter but cheese on the inside. it was very good!

Wow, what a quick response! THANKS!!!

I did a search for the cheese and your thread was the first one to pop up. I usually have to search several threads to find my answers (and sometimes don't even find them) but this time was easy. Thanks again!

What a disappointment with your server! I had a similar experience when I went back in 2007. Maybe it was the same guy.

OMG those mashed potatoes look SO GOOD!!! Also, my family didn't like WCC because we were seated all the way in the back, 3 out of the 4 of us did not like our meal AT ALL. Our server was terrible and slow, even though it appeared she only had two or three tables. We saw the "fun" going on around us and our server said "Oh yea. Did you need a refill or straw?" Like, after we saw what happened at the next table. It was just an all around bad experience. I see they have since changed their menu a bit and I am sure if I was seated with a good server it would be different. I'm just glad to see you liked it because that means maybe I will give it another chance!

Crystal Palace Dinner

We usually eat here because its convenient (MK) and DH loves buffets. I didn't take any pis during this meal, I wasn't feeling good. I think I got dehydrated earlier in the day.

We got there and had to wait about 15 minutes, this place is ALWAYS packed! we were seated on the left over by a window. Our waitress was nice, but slow. But they always have so many tables tow ait on it seems they are always slow here!

The food was good as always, although DH still holds a grudge that they got rid of the prime rib! Everyone enjoyed, and we took some pics with characters. This was I would say an average meal. not OH MY GOSH delicious, but still good. We love the setting, all the light that comes in through the windows.

$28.99 x 2 = $57.98 = tax = $61.74
:) :) :) out of 5 smilies

we like it fine for waht it is, but may skip it next time

Grand Floridian Cafe Lunch

We knew we were going to be lounging at the pool/hotel this day so we didn't want to go far for lunch so we had planned on the GF cafe. we love how relaxed it is here, and bright and pretty!

we were seated right as you go in on the right by the window.
for appetizers we got the crab cakes and some kind of shrimp appetizer
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/288.jpg
I didn't eat either, but bobby said the crab cakes were better than the shrimp.

for entrees I got the new york strip and bobby got the burger. the steak was CHARRED like, burnt to a crisp on the outside. but the mashed potatos were fabulous! bobby liked his burger well enough.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/289.jpg

for dessert I got the mini tiramasu, and so did bobby, it was super good! we really liked it.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/290.jpg

other than the steak being burnt the meal was good but the service was SLOW. and they weren't even busy, so I don't know what the deal was. we have had better meals here.

shrimp-$8.00
crab cakes- $7.99
steak-$25.99
burger- $11.99
2 tiramasu- $2.39 x's 2 = $4.78
2 sprites $2.39 =$4.78
TOTAL: $63.53 plus tax: $67.66

gets :) :) :) of 5 smilies

we will probably skip this one next time just because we have been so much and want to try some new place,s but I am sure we will be back

I was so full I couldn't finish my dessert and what i wouldn't do not to have those last bites back!

all in all good meal, food good, service decent (has been better) good times were had by all. Oh yeah, except for the lady breastfeeding at the table with no covering/blanket. :sad2: a blanket is all I am asking for!!!

Yak and Yeti lunch

we enjoy eating here for something different. it seems I have steak everyday which, while fabulous, gets a little old, so this place mixes it up for us!

we walked up a little early for our ressie and were seated right away, in that room off to the left we were seated in last time. it. was. freezing. I recalled this from last yea and had a jacket, but it was still SO COLD. I had to get up THREE times during the meal and go stand outside in the sun for a few minutes because I was so cold and just couldn't take it. it was that bad!

we both ordered sprite
and for appetizer we got seared ahi tuna
and pot stickers

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/390.jpg

DH said they were good. he didn't like the tuna as much as the pot stickers.

for enterees I got the honey chicken which was yummy
the rice is super good, too
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/392.jpg

DH got the steak and shrimp and said the steak part was excellent, the other parts were just "good"
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/391.jpg

for dessert we shared the brownie sundae
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/393.jpg

after the dessert I defiantely had to go stand outside! service was average, food was good, restaurant was FREEZING! if we go back I may have to put a pair of pants in my bag!!!

2 sprite- 5.98
tuna- 10.99
pots stickers- 7.99
steak and shrimp- 24.99
honey chicken- 17.49
sundae- 9.99

Hi Heatherlynn,

Excellent dining reviews as always!!!

Thanks to you we tried the WCC this past August with our niece and nephew and they had a blast!!! "Heada Lettuce" was our waitress and she kept the kids on their toes, asking why was there food left on the plates but they needed soda refills, and how could there food on their plates that they didn't order. My nephew started looking around to make sure she didn't see him take more cornbread(which was awesome by the way,as was the Skillet).

We also took them to Narcoossee's after going there last year on the advice of your reviews. Now it's there favorite also!!!:woohoo:

You are right, Disers should always say hello if they recognize you.

Keep up the great reviews:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Narcoossees dinner (again)

we were supposed to eat at yachtsman steakhouse, but we had been riding disney busses all day (DTD, etc.) and were so tired and didn't feel like going back that way and trying to get to the yacht club so we walked up to Narcoossees (they were full, couldnt get a reservation) and we got in.

we were so pathetic, almost falling asleep at the table and barely talking to eat other!

we ordered:
shrimp and crab cakes again for appetizers
steak for me lobster for bobby for entrees again
2 almond crusted cheesecakes for dessert
sprite and coke

grand total was $158.58
since we already ahd pics of all this food, this is the only one we took
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/403.jpg

our server was nice, we did not have a window seat which was a bummer but we were so tired we didnt feel like asking!
we ate and then left, nothing exciting. the food was excellent as always, service wasn't "disney" service but it wasn't bad. she did her job but wasn't personable, which we didn't mind that night haha!

still our favorite!

1900 Park Fare breakfast

we wanted to do a fun character breakfast as a farewell, and since we were staying at the GF we wanted to go here so we wouldn't have to travel anywhere.

I was getting very sad at this point, so I was a little blah. DH was happy, since he loves buffets, and breakfast. Since I don't eat a lot of breakfast this meal was definately for him.

my plate
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/427.jpg

DH's plate (one of many)
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/hbridges/Disney%20May%202009/428.jpg

food was ok, regular disney buffet food. DH stuffed himself, since it was his last disney meal until January, he was making it worthwhile!

we took some character pictures, sat for awhile (we had time till ME came) people watched, got some more food, etc. it was relaxing, but also sad. I couldn't help but think about people who just got to disneyt hat morning, or the night before, just starting their trip, and here I was leaving. boo!

buffet price: $20.99 x's 2 =$53.23 total.

a waste of money for me, i probably ate 4 dollars worth of food. But I think DH got his money's worth!
this place gets :) :) :) smiley men. I like dinner here better. We will probably go back next time we stay at the GF for convenience, but won't make a special trip for it.

WRAP UP AND COST BREAKDOWN

ok, so I took what we would have paid OOP for all meals and added them up (remember, we had 3 entitlements a day for 7 nights) this was the total:

$1533.91

the deluxe plan was $72 per day per person, so thats 144 a day for both of us, or $1008 total that was ACTUALLY PAID for food.

so, we already saved $525.91 and we havem't even added in snack credit totals! AND one of my TS meaks was a cheap CS meal, so we could have saved another 45 bucks or so if we wouldn't have missed our TS time due to a flight delay.

we had 2 snacks a day per person, times 7 nights so thats 28 total snacks
I did not save all my reciepts for this...let's just say approximately we spent 3 dollars per snack

thats $84 dollars in snacks (we used them all.)

so if we add that to the total it brings it to $1617.91

qw also got 2 refillable mugs with our plan that cost I THINK approx. 12 dollars? so thats another 24...so thats 1641.91 total for 3 TS meals a day, 2 snacks, and 2 mugs, for a total savings of $633.91

I don't know about you but thats a lot of money! so tack on the other 40-45 we would have spent at the TS place instead of CS thats close to 675 dollars saved!!!

did we order appetizers, entrees, and desserts everywhere, and a non alcoholic drink? yes. we got FULL use of this plan, and think we have it figured out pretty well...

eat either a late breakast or early lunch, snack in the afternoon and then dinner. we ate at 3 2 TS credit dinners and really enjoyed getting to eat at some nicer places.

now, notice i did not add tip in anywhere. we chosoe to tip a different percentage each time according to service, so I cannot give you an exact tip amount. if you want a rough estimate, take whatever % you tip and add it to the total. we like to take an envelope of cash and tip from there instead of adding it to our bill.

any questions? We really enjoyed eating in disney, as usual, and love the flexibility of the dining plan! I love not having to look at prices on my vacation!

thank you all for reading!!!

Just realized I never read your final post and summary. Great job!

We are doing the DXDP in May and I have already calculated that we will save at least $600 for 2 Adults and 2 kids. And that is based on what we *would* have ordered if we were paying OOP and not on the dining plan. (For instance, we likely would not order appetizers and desserts at each and every meal).

Like you, we like to dine mostly at the 2 credit restaurants for dinner. While many people say it is not worth it to use 2 credits for a meal, I have done the math and it most certainly is! I actually just don't get it at all when people say it is not worth it. Maybe if you are looking to get the most possible meals from the plan, then yes it isn't worth it. But on a purely cost basis, 2 credits for many of the signature dining restaurants does in fact still save you money.

I also don't know why people think the DXDP is too much food. If you do any amount of signature dining, if anything you have to be frugile with your credits, and possibly even pay out of pocket unless you want to skip breakfast on those days. How is that too much food?:confused3

Admittedly we might not eat an appetizer and dessert with every meal, but when calculating the cost/benefit of the DXDP, I only calculated it based on buying appetizers and dessert for about 20% of our meals. And the dining plan is still cheaper than paying out of pocket!

I can't wait to see what we actually end up saving on the plan for our trip. I plan on keeping all the receipts as you have and will definitely report on it!:goodvibes

Have fun during the final countdown to your trip in January! You must also be looking forward to the upcoming school break. Every Summer and Christmas break I think about how nice it must be to work as a teacher! ;) Unfortunately, I am in your husband's profession...we never slow down!:sad2:

Looking forward to hearing about your January trip! Hopefully you will do another trip (and food) report!:)
