The 2010 marathon will be my first race at Disney. I'm arriving the Friday before. After I check into my hotel (on property) how can I get over to the Expo to pick-up my race packet, ect...? I will not have a rental car, only Disney transportation. Those of you with past experience, how long do you think the wait will be for picking up my packet around mid-day -early afternoon on that Friday? An hour? Several hours?

No worries....Disney provides bus transportation from all the property resorts and it runs pretty smoothly. I've gone to the expo on Friday the past four years and have never had to wait long for bus transportation. The wait at the expo for my bib and to purchase merchandise is another story....

OK.. I just did a little research (I think that I'm so accustomed to coming to the DISboards for info that I forgot what Google is ). So, to get over to the sports complex I need to take a DHS bus from my hotel and transfer to a Sports Complex bus at DHS? Do I understand this correctly? Anyone know which bus stop it is at DHS? Or, are you saying that for marathon week-end they'll have direct buses from the resort to the complex all week-end b/c of the higher number of people going there?
WDWFAN9 .. your idea of "another story" is how long? Can I expect to get in and out of Expo within 2 - 3 hours as long as I'm not planning to buy the place out?

For the January marathon weekend the bus transportation will go directly from your resort, which will have a special, well-marked bus stop just for the expo. How much time for the expo? Some of that is purely a matter of luck, the line for a particular range of bib #'s might be long, and another line might be very short. It depends too if you are picking up pre-purchased pins and if and how much time you want to spend wandering the expo. There are a lot of vendors, plus all the Disney marathon event stuff. I usually can count on spending a couple of hours, and then if I run into fellow WISHers, and I usually do, that adds in a little more time too. You don't have to spend a lot of time, but it is fun to wander around and soak in the atmosphere.

Thank you for that info! That was what I was trying to get an idea about.
