Poor little birds....

It is so hot out here, and has been for the last several days (with the humidex feels like 110F), that not only am I watering my container plants twice a day, but I've been dumping and refilling the birdbath 3 - 4 times a day. The water gets HOT, very quickly.

After I rinse the birdbath and fill it with cool water, it only takes a little while before the birds are back, mostly bluejays. It's fun to watch them splash around. Sometimes they sit in the water with their wings spread out, just like they're cooling off their little bird underarms.......LOL! :) :)

I would Amid, but the birdbath is concrete and really retains the heat, that's why I rinse it with cold water before filling it again. :D

I'm not even sure that birds have "real" underarms, it just looks like they're bathing them! :p

So bluejays are one of your favourites (note spelling) eh? They can be very nasty to the little guys sometimes, but the colours are nice!!
