Glad you had a great time. How did you like being in the Jamaica village? We are leaving in about three weeks and I have requested Jamaica 45/46. How long of a walk was it from 44 to OPR?

I also requested the Jamaica building. How did you find the bus service? Did you like the food court?

I notice you said you would let GM know. Did you receive some kind of discounts from them? If so, what? Are you able to let family members use your discounts? Thanks...glad you had a great time!

Who did you book your reservations through to make your room recommendation. We would like to stay at CBR, but the ability to get to everything without walking a mile would be great. Is there a number to the resort that we could check availabiltiy for the end of Sept. I'm glad that you had a good time. First time visit, so I feel better about choosing CBR.:)

OK-I'll try to answer best I can.

We booked thru CRO. Discount was for Spring thru 6/22 @ $94 p/nite as was offered on Mousesavers and mentioned here, also.

fun4family- I would call CRO to book ASAP if you haven't yet. There are discounts for Sept. Check the Discount info here on the boards.

Requested N/S Jamaica at that time and wishes were granted!:D

Jamaica 44 is only 1 minute further from Port Royale bridge than 45/46. Just walk toward the beach and it is seconds from there.

We LOVE the walk over that bridge! Sooo tropical. Beware the HUNDREDS of birds there at 6am-Lots of beautiful songs and other presents(!!??!) can rain down upon you then (LOL!) But a wonderful way to start your day!

Food court is fine-lots of variety. During our stay, hot b'fast was not available til 7am, but bakery and refillable mug drinks (COFFEE!!) were available starting at 6am. Noticed on our last day (7/1) that some hot b'fasts were available by 6:30am. Probably longer hours during higher capacity.

Bus service was PERFECT! Never waited longer than 10 minutes to go ANYWHERE except upon returning from parks when they close. Be prepared to wait then AND to STAND on the way home! Reserve some stamina and some patience for that part of your day. We just stayed in parks 30 minutes or so after last event and crowd usually cleared by then. Busses ran for 90 minutes after parks closed. They won't leave you stranded.

Lynn- The GM I'm referring to is the General Mngr of CBR. We like to let them know when we are pleased.

I think you will all truly LOVE the CBR.

Please feel free to PM me with any specific questions!

Thank you for the input. I just really want our first trip to be memorable. It has taken me years to get my husband to agree. So if he's impressed then maybe we can go back again. Again, thanks for the information.:D

We stayed at CBR for 11 days in mid-June. We were in Aruba bldg. 52. We also had a great time and got all of our requests regarding the room. I faxed my request in 3 days prior to our arrival along with having it noted on my reservations. The walk for us was just a little farther - but the grounds are beautiful and I didn't mind it at all.

We also just returned from a wonderful CBR vacation(just got in last night). CBR was great, we were in Jamaica 43, had a corner room. Rooms were clean and nice. Not a long walk at all to OPR. Ate at the food court a couple times, At the deli, sandwiches were good and fresh and one night had a pizza, I was surprised for a food court pizza it was pretty good, only thing is they only have 2 sizes, small and large. there were 3 of us and a large was just a little bit too big but it was good.

Main pool was a lot of fun, quiet pool was right by room so that was nice also.

Bus service was good never waited to long for a bus and bus stop was real close to room.

I want to go back I am going thru Disney withdrawls today. Back to the real word tomorrow

Just an FYI on the Pizza. We did the math and for our family of 4 it was cheaper to get 4 smalls than it was to get 1 large and the amount of pizza you get is about the same...

We also were at CBR in June for 6 nights. We loved it. I'm also still in Disney withdrawl. We did not get what I requested and faxed but were not disappointed. We were in Aruba 54 which is a slightly longer walk than Jaimaca to the food courts and main pool but very relaxing and doable. The room was beautiful and very spacious. It was a short walk to the bus depot. Aruba was the second stop and Jaimaca was the first.

We think CBR is a pretty romantic setting. Great place for a first (or second) honeymoon! A walk in the evening along the path circling the resort (1 1/4 miles) takes you around the lake by the beaches and among the palms-we saw an unbelievable moonrise one night! If you are taking small ones and have a room on a courtyard, you can sit right outside your room surrounded by tropical flowers once the kids are asleep (if they are old enough to leave unattended and you are comfortable with this).

Enjoy!;)

Would you guys suggest we request a bottom floor room, never thought about it but sitting outside at night would be nice, are there any railings on the bottom floor? Thanks!

One more question...What is the fax number for reservation requests (location, etc) ? Thanks!

Hi Sharon!
Hmmmm.....Can't recall about railings on bottom level-probably there, though. We always stay 2nd level (top floor). Less noise overhead (but either way you will hear the pitter-patter of little feet outside your door when families return home and kids RUNNN to their rooms). You can bring a light plastic chair or two from courtyard area to sit near your room either way (and return them when not in use).

We have never faxed or contacted room assigner at CBR-Sorry! But we have always gotten our requested area or very close to it. Once we had to wait til later in the day, but no hassle-just went to pool til room was ready.

Happy (in advance) 10th!!! :)

THANK YOU!!! I just had to change my ressies from September November/December and am schedule to stay at the CBR for 10 nights. This will be my first time staying there and I am SOOOOO excited!!! Thanks for the great reviews!!!

When we stayed at the POFQ, we just brought the chairs that are in the room and placed them outside when we wanted to sit out there.

If you want to do everything yourself you can call CRO at 407-W-Magic. If you are really planning on going the end of Sept 2002, make your reservation asap. The discounts for then end July 8.

If you would a recommendation of an online Disney travel agent. I can recommend www.ourlaughingplace.com

Hi all
there are no railings outside the main floor rooms. The covered walkway is right outside all the room doors.

Just one more vote for CBR. We stayed there on 6/22- 6/27 and everything was great. We were in Aruba 56. Pretty nice walk from the food court but that was fine with me and my kids. We were in a corner room, close to the bus stop. We were on the first floor and had a flood scare with all the rain but it never reached the room, just the walkway. Maid service was good, got towel animals one day and daughter's doll was set up reading a book one day, really cute!

This was our second stay and I really enjoyed it!

Terk, so you finally decided when and where!!! I think you will love CBR!!!

It is the only mod we've stayed at. My mom was at CSR the same weekend that we were at CBR and they loved CSR!!! They were in Casitas, in a king room.

We were in Trinidad North 33, rooms 3301 and 3302. Were very close to our quiet pool, the beach with hammocks , and the bus stop. To me, the walk to OPR was long. Maybe if we were in Jamaica and had to walk across the bridge (with all that beautiful vegetation and wildlife), it wouldn't have seemed that long. We had to walk on concrete the whole way. To some it wouldn't matter because of all the palm trees, beach and such, but I'm from fL , so I see that stuff all the time!

Anyway, the rooms were spacious and beautiful. Except for no closet doors or balcony, it could easily be a "deluxe" room.

What does OPR stand for? Thanks!

Just decided to go to WDW after Christmas holiday in Cincinnati before returning to San Diego, YIPPEE!! Plan to stay at a mod, where can I find a map of CBR? This is the one I am most interested in. Our first trip was just this June, at Poly, looking forward to another visit!!

OPR = Old Port Royale. This is the food court, arcade, gift shop, and main pool area.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time, I can't wait for May. The fax number is Caribbean Beach 407-934-3400
Fax - 407-934-3288 Don't fax your requests until a few days prior to your arrival as the resort will not have your reservation info yet. Make sure you have put all of your requests on your ressie. The fax is just a back up.
