Interest Thread for WDW & DLR Event Swap Sign-up 10/18 7:30pm EST

I participated in this one last year and have used all my pieces and thought it would be fun to do another one and try my hand at hostessing over here.

So I would like to know if there would be enough interest to start one up.

I am pretty much open on dates my only planned event is we will be in WDW 12-8 to 12-15.

I have pretty much copied and pasted from last years swap and added the DLR events.

My questions:

Dates? We could do sign ups in Sept and be due end of Nov beginning of December. or not due till after the holidays begining of Jan.
Any more groups you would like to see added?
Do you want to do Mini Page kits, Single Elements or both?
What size groups?

I went last year to MTNTParty and it was alot of fun and we go in November every year for our anniversary. I would be interested in DL Holidays.

Wit the resort groups- we let everyone choose which resort- those are just the ones choosen last year- the year before we did others including Yacht, Beach, and Boardwalk- basically any specific resort is generally what is choosen. I would also do the Christmas Party stuff as I have not scrapped those photos yet.

I can give you some more areas for Pirate&Princess Party stuff- I just have to look at my album. I can also give you some more things for Star Wars Weekend if I look it up (I will be doing my pictures next weekend and could definately look at it then.

Yes and in the past a topper has been required- the exact make-up of them is up to the hostess but when Shauna and I did it in the past it was a topper and 2 other elements.

Awesome! This is just what I need! I have loads of photos from our christmas WDW trip last year that need scrapped. I'd join all the christmasy groups. I prefer a due date after the holidays--beginning of January or mid January. That way if I'm not finished I can work on the swap over christmas break. I'll still join though if it's due earlier. I like elements but the idea of mini page kits is most appealing to me.

This year, I'm attending all the events, F&GF, F&W, MNSSHP, MVMCP, CP, Osbourne Lights.

I absolutely love doing resort holiday items as well. All of the resorts decorate to the hilt, so they are all up for grabs even though people don't often choose to do all of them. They're all unique and lovely!

Reminds me, I need to change my ticker as I'm cancelling my early Nov ressies since I'm going the end of Nov and first week of Dec!! Anyone want to meet who will be there??

Ok since I just copied and pasted from last year.:laughing: thats how it was set up.

With the topics inside the MNSSHP group and then you could do just the single element if you didnt want all of the party events.

I need to do more research on the Pirate and Princess Party. But i will definatly try to get more topics posted for that group.

Also there is just the general event groups, for those that dont have anything for the specific topics.

I don't know if they will have the P&PP next year. I sure hope so, but they didn't do them this year. I was very disappointed because we'd gone 2 years in a row to the one in the spring (they also had them in the summer). I heard that the P&PP had low attendance and that's why they stopped them. Hopefully they'll do them again next year.

When I went to M's today they had some pirate paper on sale and some Pirate Jolees so I grabbed about 5 sets of each for this upcoming swap. I am thinking of all of us doing the Pirate League at Disney for the MNSSHP, so if there is no P&P I can use my pirate stuff for the MNSSHP dress up.

I know I got my egg before the chicken, but I did not want to pass them up knowing I had this swap coming up.

Welcome! How this works is when JohnsonsLoveDisney opens up sign-ups you will post which groups you want to be in. Then, you will make enough sets of the topic you chose so that each person in your group (including yourself) will get one. Then at the end, after JLD has mailed everything back, you will receive one set from each person that is in the group you signed up for.

What are you planning on putting in the category Holiday Decor at the Resorts? Would this include things like chocolate creations, GF Gingerbread Houses? What else??

For single element groups, would everyone make something different for a group but they would all be related to that theme? So for example I'd get 4-6 (depending on the group size) different things but they'd all be for FnGF? Right?

I am not sure if this swap will be opening on Saturday still? I believe JLD is dealing with a lot of stuff right now. I heard from another swap hostess she had to drop out, because of life issues right now. I have pm'd her for the surprise swap and have not heard back yet. So I am not sure what the status is of this swap.

If it does open up I will be no good for a swap buddy. Around the time of sign ups I will be out, so I planned on doing by phone and that is very slow moving.

I've looked through the thread and I have some questions for those of you interested in this swap.

Mini page kit for this swap will be three elements from the standard list (I'll post it at sign ups), embellished at least once. One of these elements must incorporate a title. You could make a traditional topper, welded and shadowed title, an altered CD with the title on it, a tag or squares with the title etc and then 2 elements. Group size varies 5-7 per group. The resort group will be a max of 6. You do not need to state your elements at sign ups.

Single elements groups -- state your element when you sign up -- no repeats with the exception of paper piecings (we will have to make sure we are not doing the same one) Group size = 6

Flower and Garden festival -- mini kits or elements??
Year of a Million Dreams -- mini kits or elements??

Hi everyone! I am still alive. and truely and deeply sorry for not being in more contact. :sad1:

We are having the equlivalant of WW3 around here. I just checked my brochure and the name is The Pirates League, although that is not really correct is it? Shouldn't it be The Pirates' League or The Pirate's League depending on whether this is meant to refer to one pirate or more than one? Whatever..the spelling listed is what is on the brochure.

No this good. I'll re-title the elements to be general disney halloween -- I know that what I intended to make for that MNSSHP element group was not really party specific, but rather disney halloween.
