Hi.

I found a good airfare with US Airways for a September flight. Is US Airways on safe financial ground or does anybody know?

Thanks for any help.

We have tickets bought from them to go to WDW in Oct.

I wouldn't worry. Nothing is going to happen with them for a while.

I'm ticketed on them for next January. My bet is that with their very coveted routes and gates, worst case scenario is a hostile takeover by another carrier, who would then honor the tickets.

We purchased tickets 2 months ago for Febuary (Presidents Week) and we are not worried at all.

I'm holding three tickets for September..........even if they would file for bankrupcy, they usually are in bankrupcy for years before ever going under or coming back out of it..............If you are real nervous about it, then be sure to buy travel insurance that way you can rest assured that you won't lose your money. I'm sure you'll be fine though.......have a great trip.

We will be flying USAir the end of August to WDW and then again in September for a wedding in Pittsburgh, not worried at all. They have changed our times on the trip in August, about 40 minutes later than originally scheduled. On June 24, 2002, United Airlines also filed for federal assistance, $1.8 billion: http://www.nando.net/special_reports/terrorism/economics/

This is all part of the effects of 9/11 and will take some time to fix. I won't be surprised if all major airlines don't ask for more federal help sometime this year. Have a great trip!
