For years and years, we visited Disney the last week of May through the first week of June. Well in 2008 and 2009, we had to go in August because of work schedules. We want to go back to our favorite time.

Hope we can get some good discounts again!

I sure hope that they'll offer some kind of promo during our time frames. Two or three years ago, they offered free water parks and more ticket upgrades. I took 'em up on the offer and saved a good bit of money. This time, I booked with the buy 4/get 3 free and then had to change to August. Thank goodness they extended the promo through our travel dates.

Come on Disney, give us something good!

Mickeystoontown... This will be our first trip to WDW as a family (we live in Cali... so we got to DL a lot).... Can I ask what it is you like about going at this time of year? We are kind of limited due to our school and work schedules. I am a little worried about about the heat and crowds. :)

Ok, so I keep pushing my trips off for various reasons. Now I am aiming for May 28th - June 5th, hoping to stay at CBR.

Would LOVE the 4/3 deal. Was it available through Memorial Day this year???? How were the crowds this year at this time?? When did the 4/3 discount come out??

I have never been at this time. Our very first trip was the last week of June 2004, and our last few trips have been the first week of October.

From what I have heard, some schools don't let out until mid to late June. I know that when we drove to Disney during this time frame, we would see schools letting out and kids on buses. We have found that the weather is much more pleasant during May/June than in August.

We love love love the CBR. As a matter of fact, we just got back from a 10 day stay there.

I can't remember exactly what the dates were for the buy 4/get 3 free promo. I know that when I first booked for May, I could have used it. But, then my boss said it would be better if I went in August so I was very happy when Disney extended the deal. If I had the choice of August or the end of May/first week of June, I'd definitely choose May/June.

I know alot of schools in the South including GA get out the 28th of May. My kids are done then. When we went the last week of June, I do not remember it being really busy. I guess my idea of really busy is a bit skewed from everyone elses idea. :upsidedow

I have read your trip reports and seen your pics and posts on CBR on occasion. We have stayed at several resorts but CBR is the only one my kids have requested to go back to. And we have only stayed there once. It is an awesome resort.

After checking Mousesavers, it looks like the 4/3 discount came out in November. Maybe Disney will put us out of our misery and make it available earlier eh? If that is indeed what is coming down the pike. ;)

Happy planning!!

Well, we are planning for June 2010 for the same reason as you...school schedules. We went to WDW in June 2007, and I was pleasantly surprised that the crowds were not as bad as I had feared (although much thicker than October and early February, which is when we had previously gone). If it weren't for our kids' school schedule, we would choose another month, but we learned from our previous June trip that we do like 2 things about WDW in June:

(1) It's never too cool to use the resort pools.
(2) You know exactly what clothing to pack. No surprises as far as temperature. Shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, walking sandals, and swimsuits. Fall/winter packing for Orlando is tricky because it could be warm during the day and cold at night. We pack much lighter for travel in June! You KNOW you are not going to need sweaters and jackets.

June heat is MUCH better than August heat, so we will try to go as soon as our kids get out of school. Don't let June scare you! We prefer off-season too, but you have to go when you are able to go.

We had been in October before (loved that too!), but with DS now in school, we are going in summer. We didn't think the crowds were too bad, and we really liked that the parks were open really late! The last two years, we've gone to Disney in August (had to because of job) and we soooo missed at the pretty Flower & Garden displays at Epcot. It just looks so dull without them. That and the heat were the deciding factors on the dates for our 2010 vacation.

I've looked on the Disney site and it doesn't have anything about the 2010 Flower & Garden Festival. This year's festival ended May 31.

We've finally made a decision on where to stay in 2010. We are going back to the CBR. It'll be our 5th stay there. We thought about staying somewhere else but can't seem to get excited about another moderate. Right now, we are booking a standard room. If a good promo comes out, we may change to a pirate room.

We're with you it's hard to get too excited about any of the other moderates. So if we don't get a code we will probably stay at CBR again. We have stayed in the standard room twice and it's been okay-Jamaica was better than Barbados but only because of the buses. I just love the feel of CBR. I'm dreaming of AKL or the Poly though. I got some emails with pin codes for our May dates the other day and I got really excited. Turns out the codes are just for stays through mid December. Why attach a code for dates I'm not interested in....:confused3

I'm thinking May 21-28th, how bad does it get right before Memorial day? Are the crowds terrible? We'd probably leave the Friday before Memorial day. We've gone the week before Memorial Day the last three years. The crowds are manageable. The weekend will always be more crowded than the weekdays because locals come out and some folks just go for a quick weekend trip but we have never had any issues doing what we want. Our longest wait this year was for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (35 minutes) later in the day it was 5 mins. Use fastpass and take advantage of EMH (if you're on property) and you will have no problems whatsoever. Hope you have a great trip!

We like the CBR because it's like having a beach vacation and a Disney vacation all rolled into one. We went to the luau on our last trip and just as the show ended and we were walking back towards the main building, the fireworks started. It was absolutely beautiful. If I had the big bucks, we'd stay at the Polynesian. Until then, we'll be staying at the CBR.

I got an email from Disney recently. It was for the same free dining that they are advertising on television. I really wish I'd get a super fabulous pin code.

Morning all!

Just wanted to let ya'll know about some information I just received from the Allearsnet crew.

I emailed them to ask if they thought the 2010 Flower & Garden Festival dates were set in stone. They emailed back and said that Disney released the dates about a month ago so they think they are "official". Let's just keep our fingers crossed that they will extend the dates until the end of May.

Joining! We're planning some time around the middle of June. Crowd info though. We were the 3rd wk of June this past summer and the 2nd wk in Aug. The heat was the same. The crowds were better in Aug. There was actually a huge difference. The one in June was the last of the 4/7 deal and the Aug one was the wk before free dining, but there was a room only discount going on. Just an FYI that June can get busy and be crazy hot. I actually don't like the 4/7 deals. Way too crowded. We did this back when they did about 6 yrs ago and said it wasn't worth it. We forgot when that until we got there this past June.

Anyways, we're very excited. It's our 10 yr anniversary (married at Disney) and Dh and I will both graduate w/ our masters. So, big celebration.

For those of you who haven't heard, rumor is Disney will be making a huge announcement on 9/27/09. From the information I have found, it looks like it may be either a buy 4/get 3 free or free dining. But, it may only be for the first three months of the year 2010. Last year, the buy 4/get 3 free promo lasted much longer than the first three months so I'm hoping that part of the rumor is incorrect.

Here's the link if you guys want to check it out: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2289958

Ooh -- good to hear! I am even more excited. School gets out for us on June 4th, so I was hoping we might miss at least a little bit of the crowds....

I have only gone the last week of May or first week of June so I can't say how it compares to other times, but it wasn't too bad. In 2008 we arrived on May 28th and the weather was actually quite pleasant minus a tropical storm that came through and rained out one of our days, but I am from Houston so I am use to a bit of heat, humidity and thunderstorms anyway :confused3. Last year we arrived June 3rd because that was the day the girls got out of school and it was a bit warmer, but I am sure that didn't have all that much to do with it being a week later, just a warmer summer. Some days did seem a bit more crowded then others but since we were there for 10 nights we would just go to another park or back to SAB for awhile and it worked out fine.
This if we can get a good deal this year I want to arrive on the 2nd (the last day of school for the girls and a min day too so they will probably just skip it) and leave on the 8th or 9th.

I have run some numbers too.

I went to the allearsnet website to get the correct "season" rate for the time I am staying at the CBR in May and June, 2010. The rate during our time of travel would be approximtely $190.00 per night. (If I am remembering correctly.) I then looked at the rates during the promo dates and found one that was very close to the $190.00 rate. Then, I went to the Disney World site and plugged in the dates. (Sorry if I am not making myself clear.)

By my calculations and the price given to me on the Disney site, it looks like we would save between $500 and $600.00 if they extend the buy 4/get 3 free promo. If they were to run a free dining promotion, we would save a little over $1,000.00. But, given Disney's history, I'm thinking they won't be offering free dining during our travel dates.

Even if I saved just $100.00, I'd be happy.

We just came back a week ago today. So what else do we do when you come home is look into booking your next vacation to the world. Next year I think we are going to be able to go on two separate occassions. My oldest niece is graduating High School around 5/21, they live 2 hours away from the World and dd bday is the 25ht of May, so thinking we will go for her birthday.

We also didnt book the bb this year as this year the heat and the crowds got to me in September, so we are looking at doing our annual family trip in the beginining of November.

So with that being said any codes I can get for either trip would be great.

A Dis friend of mine just got a pin code for 20% off vacation packages and the dates were April (can't remember the correct date) through June 3rd. It was good for value resorts only. They had three categories. One was a basic package, one was with dining and one was basic with a $500 Disney gift card.

Hopefully, this means Disney will be putting out special offers for our May and June dates!

Hi! We just returned from Disney yesterday and today I had an e-mail with a pin number for 5 nights/6 days, at a select value resort including myw tickets with park hopper for $491 per adult for travel most dates 4/11-6/3/10. I got my PIN yesterday for Apr, May, & June. It had 2 offers on it-- first was kids play, stay and eat free. It was only good for 3-9 yo so only my dd was eligible. The second offer was "Big Kids Play at Little Kids Prices". It was a MMY with QS dining for 5night/6day at a value resort, everyone pays the childs price. This is the first time I've seen this offer. I had originally booked CBR for 5/22-5/27, I down graded to PC and saved $800 plus added dining. Needless to say I'm very excited--3 of us going for 6 days (with dining) for only $1500. How sweet is that !

I got the $491 pin mentioned before for 4/11 to 6/3. I tried it for check in on 6/3 and couldn't extend it. We actually want 6/8-6/15 so it wasn't a big deal.

What I found VERY interesting was the VERY short booking wondow. I received the pin on Tuesday 10/6 and it had to be booked by 10/24. I hope with all my heart that this means a general public code, that extends a little farther into summer ;) is out in early November, like last year...:wizard:

Sure!

My code actually gave the example of the value, but in the fine print it says call for other resorts, which is what my TA did.

We are staying at WL May 24-31
We got 8 Day Park Hoppers (I am not sure what you have to buy in the way of tickets. We are planning to upgrade to AP when we get there so it doesn't really matter to us)
We also got the regular Dining Plan

The original cost for this package was $3724.02

Our cost is $3046.58
Savings - $677.44

We went 6/8-6/15 this year. Low 90's w/high humidity. We were lucky as the previous couple weeks they were met w/lots of rain and during our week we had maybe a total of 10 minutes of light sprinkles, although we could see some storms off in the distance they never made it over Disney. The crowds were crowds but w/fast pass it was never too bad. We are thinking of going back around the same time next year and the 4/3 deal would help again.

We are May 28th arriving at 10:30pm. I want to spend that Friday and Sat at a value because of the point cost for the DVC. Heck, we will be exhausted from flying the first night and most likely sleep in, then hit the park.

I saw online today it would $135 a person!:scared1: I am hoping for a AP discount because that is just crazy expensive.

The following Friday we check out of BCV and then get a car for the weekend at Vero. This will be a huge change for us year 2010 as we are doing 1 big holiday and that is all. In the past we did two. I hope I don't get Disney withdrawals.

I just saw the previous post for Star Wars Weekends, I will go back to the value for that.

I have saved itineraries for multiple different time periods, under all the accounts, clicked the survey saying it was not a good value etc.

Come on Disney!!! You can have 2 2010 trips with this!! Without it will probably be zero :sad1:

We must be kindred spirits. I've done all of the above. I've even tried live chats with Disney. No luck at all!

I've been to Disney 14 times and have gotten a pin ONCE and couldn't use it.

I didn't get my pin code via email. I never do. I just call Disney and ask the CM if there is a pin code attached to my name. That is how I have gotten my last 3. There were there...no emails!! The last one I used to take $2400 off our WL reservations!!!

That's what I am hoping for too. I know that they extended it all the way though August last year.

I am about at the point where I am going to call and see if I have a PIN with my name. I guess it wouldn't hurt any, but I am not expecting anything. I am starting to think our trip is going to be a no go :( I guess at least we can pay our car off early this way. :confused3

I called, but unfortunately, no pin was associated with our name. (No DCL pin number either despite our neighbors receiving one!). The WDW CM told me though to keep watching for the 3/4 deal to be extended.

Bummer for all of you who wanted to see it too :sad1: We went in mid May in 2008, and I have to say, the flowers really weren't that lush anymore. Maybe the ended it earlier before the real heat comes in?

Now come on and announce Star Wars weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :3dglasses (and maybe send the rest of us a pin code too :rolleyes1)

For years and years, we were able to visit during the Flower & Garden Festival and it was always so beautiful. When we went to Epcot in August, 2008, it just looked so bland.

I was so hoping the festival wouldn't end until the end of May. But, maybe Disney will go ahead and announce Star Wars Weekends and it'll include the end of May.

I don't think she would have told me if she wasn't sure. This was on Monday and the same day was when she told me about the Flower & Garden Festival ending on the 16th--a few days before it was announced. :goodvibes

I've received a few PINs via email but they were for the end of 2009 and we just went in August. Two days ago I called WDW Reservations to ask if there was a PIN attached to my name. They said there was not, but there was a room only deal and asked when I wanted to travel - I would have to travel by June 15th. I told them I was definitely looking for early June and held my breath for the quote. I basically got 35% off room rate on a mod, or buy 4 get 3 free, however you want to look at it. I am SO excited! Maybe this means they will be extending buy 4 get 3 through June soon?

I need a room for 4 people just for the two nights before we move to our DVC.

I will never get a pin code but I wondered if the AP or Fl resident room only code is better than the codes going out?

We only need room as we have AP's. Don't need any 3/4 offer either, it just for two nights.

I looked at mousesavers historical and the AP Fl resident rates released in the past in Feb.

Any speculation on what we can expect for the 2010 year?

We are booking the Poly now and hoping for good discounts or a pin code that covers our dates of June 3 to June 6. We are booked from May 28 to June 3 at BLT using my DVC points so we're hoping to make this our dream trip with a first time stay at the Poly.

I got the pin a few weeks ago that covers all of 2010 (except major holidays)

Log onto WDW.com, with your popup blocker off, price some trips, save some offers and when you sign off the site fill out the survey saying you don't think the price was a good value. Do this a few times over the course of a few days/weeks and you might get one. :wizard:

We received an e-mail pin code yesterday!:cool1:First time for an e-mail one and the first one period in a lot of years that we could use. The discount was for most travel periods (some blackouts) through June 12th. We need a reservation for Fri & Sat. June 4th & 5th. I still couldn't believe the rates even with the pin code. We are so used to traveling in the fall when its MUCH cheaper. $293 for POFQ and $540ish for AKL. I double checked the regular rates and wow, $900 for 2 nights at AKL savanna view. Holy moly! I guess the 40 percent is really applied. OUCH! Do people REALLY pay that much if they don't have some type of code??

We were hoping to choose a different resort this time and stay deluxe (we are DVC but if we are paying for a weekend room we usually stay mod). But looking at those prices, we'll probably just stay at POFQ again. :thumbsup2

I think you are fine as long as you book your beginning date by the 3rd. Just leave the day after school and you should be golden. Check with Disney first of course.

Unfortunately, Disney has stopped allowing you to check in the last day of a promo and keep it for the length of your stay :sad2: (Free Dining may be the rare exception)

Summer, don't give up on that pin code yet! :wizard:

you would think that since they would be giving out the gift card within the promo period they would do it since it is not like offer a lower rate on a room for all the days you stay. Either way if turns out to be a merchandise only gift card it will not work for us anyway. We stay deluxe since we have a larger family and got spoiled by the convince, but there is no way we would save that much money with a $750 merchandise allowance since we do not spend near that much on merchandise. Oh well, the deals are never set up to work for everybody. :confused3

I am fairly certain we will not be getting any PINs. Our PIN pixie dust has most likely been used up on the 2 or 3 PINs we have gotten for Nov & Dec of this year, and the 2 free dining in Nov/ Dec PINs I got after FD was already GP. I was hoping *maybe* after the new year they may move on to offer us something for 2010, but since I have not gotten anything from them in the last month or so and there seems to be a whole slew of decent PINs going out I don't really see it happening.

we're going June 5-12 and are also waiting on a pin or special promotion like everyone else here. I'm working on flight more right now b/c I don't think Disney is going to run out of rooms. So I'll just book the room whenever. wish they would extend the current discount though.
