I have booked NPB admirals lakeside for Dec 09, we booked through a travel agent transport included, with HB plus and disney express.
When we booked i was so excited and was just adding more and more on.....but discussing with DP last night, we worked out payment etc we have to pay by the 5th Oct which is 4 days short of the extra cash we would be getting to pay rest of holiday off. if we had to the 9th we would be okay! it wouldnt be much of a struggle.
so i suggested maybe downgrading to another Hotel, i just tried SL for a price, as we would like a pool, but on the dates we are going the pool is closed everyday (just my luck). SO next option is Cheyenne! i just got a much lower price there, but when it came to halfboard options it only gave HB standard? could i not get HB plus with this hotel?

I'm a bit upset as i really want to stay at the NPB, i just dont know if they travel agents will let us pay 4 days late over the final date? i really hope so! but of course if it came to it i would downgrade just to be at Disney!

I presume well i hope the money and deposit we have paid so far would carry on to the other hotel?

I know which everway i will be going!!!

Not sure about the HB thing as I don't really understand it. You really need to talk to your travel agent, in theory your deposit should be carried over but some might charged to make the amendment.

Is it not possible to borrow the money off someone for the 4 days to cover your holiday & then pay them back?

The More and more im sitting here im thinking i really want to keep NPB. Its Our first family holiday together, i know which ever hotel we did have in the end it would still be magical:wizard:......but this would make it a tiny bit more;) think we are just really going to have to live on minium money for the next few weeks! im sure we can do it!:)

Im going to talk to the travel agent tomorrow, im just hoping they will allow us to pay the rest a few days late!

I used to work in the travel industry and generally they ask you to pay the balance 12weeks before departure, but this doesn't usually get passed onto the tour operator until 8weeks before.
I would contact the travel agent and suggest paying as much as you can on time and paying the remainder within maybe 7days of the due date.
They will miss out on their commission if you downgrade the holiday as opposed to waiting an extra few days for the remainder of the balance.

Not sure if you have thought of this, but it might help your situation.

Cancel your half board plus, which will bring your price down. However you can always add it on once the extra money is avaiable.

This can be done through your travel agent, or through Disney direct. I believe it can be added at any point prior to departure.

Not sure how much that will save on the cost payable now, but is worth thinking about.

That way you can have the holiday you want, but change the cost.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi Babiesmummy,

thanks for the information, it has eased my mind into maybe thinking they will accept my payment a few days late. I never really thought of it that way, as in they would lose out on their commission. 1/2 of the balance will be paid, its just the last half all in one a little late.
i hope they do except :)

Hi Pete n taz,

Another idea thank you! maybe also worth considering, i know half board plus did bring the price up a bit aswell as my upgrade to admirals.

I know that travel agents do give you a few extra days to pay if you warn them in advance.

Coul you not put the amount your short of on a credit card and pay it back in 4 days? or increase your overdraft with the bank if its only 4 days interest wont be much

I dont own any credit cards....but we did think about overdraft to begin with. (it is still a possibility).
By the positive responses on here, we are hoping they will be ok to take rest of payment a few days late.:)

I cant believe how quick time is going:scared1: it usually goes slow.....im sure after it is completey paid it will get slower waiting for Dec to arrive:santa:

Hi,
I was in the same situation as you recently and I phoned my travel agent and explained it to them. They were great and I paid the balance when I got paid which was 6 days later than the balance due date. My travel agent said that as long as you let them know in advance, they know you intend to pay so there isn't a problem. They also said that they always send out a reminder if the payment isn't made on the due date, they NEVER just cancel your booking or anything drastic like that.
Hope this helps :goodvibes

No problem,
I really wouldn't want to give up my hotel choice either. I don't know about you but it takes me sooo long to finally decide on a hotel, I'd hate to lose it at the last minute!
You don't need to pop in just phone them,
Now relax and carry on with your planning...

I am just the same, usually i always go SL but this time i had a good look round, when booking the holiday i was saying more info than the girl could keep up with. when she phoned through she had to double check with me that it was called Admirals floor:rotfl:
I needed to talk to her anyway, as when i booked admirals floor, i said i would like a balconcy room, but i dont recall her saying that on the phone so im going to double check that:)

Im going 14th Dec, i paid with 'first choice' they gave us till the 5 th Oct to pay up by:) I know its not really that long at all:scared1::woohoo: will soon fly by.

Just an update:)

We were going to ask thr travel agents to extend our payment for a few days over our last day. Dp told me to wait few weeks first incase we could sort it out ourselves.
Due to a few personal issues going on, on the money front we finally said it will be better to delay the trip (with much disapointment:sad1:) The trip isnt being delayed to much longer afterwards. we're now trying to go for 2nd week in Jan. I think we just miss the christmas dec's that is the most disapointment.

Ive been on DLP site all day, wrote down all different options. we could keep with the same date and pay alot less for thr Santa fe.
When working out for same date going Cheyenne 14th dec for 3 nights with eurostar and HB plus. with my maths it only worked out about 30pounds cheaper than the package we have already which is NPB AF with HBplus:confused3 maybe ive gone wrong somewhere, but my session has times out now:)

We are hoping to change it this Fri. i hope it will be ok to change the dates. the new dates are more affordable in 2nd week of jan to the Dec dates. so im not sure what they will do with the payments and deposit we have already made:confused3. i hope they will help us out:)
Do you think they will charge us a cancelltion fee? due to us having reserved those dates for a whiile? i understand if they do have to. Just this gives us till 2nd Nov to pay rest! which is muuch much better for us:)

I think you would be okay paying 4 days late as TA ask for the payment before before Disney want it,. Even Disney would be okay with paying a few days late and would send reminders before canceling.

Just read your update, they may charge you an admin fee if it is cheaper however they didn't with me last year when I changed from October to January. They will transfer what you have paid over to the new booking and if you have paid more than what the holiday cost they will refund the difference.

Sorry that you may have to delay your trip.

Just a thought but would it be possible to rebook the same dates but using the free dining offer and would that make it any cheaper ?

Aww i will just miss them then, It was more affordable to go 11th Jan. :sad1:

Yes we were orignally going to be paying only 4 days late, but some money issues have come up, which would be a struggle to pay even 4 days late. If we rebook for the 11th Jan we have until 2nd Nov to pay by which is alot better.

Thank you, this is what i was worried about if it was just simple to pass all payments so far on to new dates. I think it will be slightly cheaper. But we still got abit to pay so hopefully all should be well:)

This did cross my mind earlier....but how easy would this be to change? I dont really want to upset the travel agents with all these changes:eek::)

I booked direct with DLP and I had to cancel and re-book. In the end it cost me the same amount but I got the benefit of the lunches being included.

There are others that have booked through a TA and have just needed to add something onto the booking ie character meal and the booking has been re-calculated and it then includes the dine free offer. I am sure someone with more experience can point you in the right direction for the cheapest add on.

Don't worry about upsetting the TA it is their job, they are your agent. I personally think it might be worth giving them a call. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

If you rebook direct with DLRP then it may give you a bit longer to pay as TA usually want the money before Disney do. I booked with the co-op and they want payment a month before then Disney direct would want it if I had booked with them.

I will be going in to see them on fri, to rebook a different date. Hopefully i can make get the free meal deal! its worth a try.

So i could cancel the whole holiday with the TA and just rebook fresh with DLP direct, but i would loose my deposit wouldnt i?
I have booked through 'first choice' they want their payment ten weeks before.

With a TA it is usually 10/12 weeks before departure that the balance is due, if you cancel at this stage it should just be loss of deposit.
If you wanted to then book directly with DLP you could pay a 10% deposit and the balance is due 60days before departure (phone bookings only)
It all depends on how much the new package would be with DLP as to whether it would be cost effective or not.

Ah okay....i will talk with dp when he gets back from work. See which option we are best to go for.
60 days does seem a bit better:)

Thanks again everyone! hopefully in the morn we will have made a decision what to do! ive always got disney on the brain:surfweb:

Hi, yeah you would lose your depost, some people have done this and it has worked out better as they have got the free dining however it depends on what offers you got when you booked with first choice so I would price up both options and see what is worth doing.

After much discussion this morning we are going to keep same package and just go four weeks later, which should give us till 2nd Noc to pay balance by which we should WILL be able to do:)
When i see them tomorrow i will ask if i can get the meal deal package added.....im nor sure if they will allow that as we will only be delaying the trip.
