Anybody have any luck with car rentals in August?

Car rental rates are always subjected to market forces and every agency uses yield management in renting the fleet. The best way to get a good deal on any rental is to call as far ahead as possible, (as soon as you know your dates), check the web sites, book and continue to check back very often to see if the rates have gone down.

We are going in July, and did well reserving about a month ago with Budget at their website. $138 plus tax for 8 nights, mid-size car. Good Luck!

Gosh Donna, did you use any coupons or association codes to get that rate. The best I've been able to do for 10 days with Budget is $250!

No special codes, I guess I just hit the web site at the right time. It was a web only rate. Maybe if you keep trying.
