should I choose 8522(starboard) or 8046 (port) for Western Caribbean

Any opinions welcome on which location might be better for us between 8522 and 8046- These are both cat 3's ,nothing mid-ship is available,so these are the two to choose between.
would like a quieter location, would also love great views off veranda and don't know which side of ship seems to be better for that,port or starboard on Western route. Opinions anyone??

My choice would be 8522, not for the fact that it is on the starboard side but for the fact that it is NOT under the Goofy pool area. 8522 is under the adult pool which tends to be much quieter overhead. Although 8046 is not directly under the Goofy pool stage it is in the area and might be a little noisier.

We were in stateroom 8046 in April, this was a 4 night Wonder cruise and it was always on the wrong side of the ship in port and we heard lots of noise from above, ie.. chairs moving, kids running etc... We were in stateroom number 8080 in June, this was the 7 night Eastern and it was really quiet but still on the wrong side of the ship at all ports. We have booked 8522 and 8524 for April 03'. Check into which side of the ship is best on the Western, if the captain backs the ship in then I bet 8522 will be a good choice.

We were on the starboard side for 2 nights and port the rest of the time. I really can say I found it very interesting when I saw how they docked the boat at Cozumel, the way they shoot out the liitle balls so they can pull the rope in. In Grand Cayman you have to be tendered in, so I would think any side would be good. I would concentrate more on the noise than the view. Go with 8522 since someone who has stayed in 8046 said it was noisy.

I would go with 8522 (starboard). 8046 (port) is probably going to be noisy since it's under the pool area. We've stayed in both of the Cat. 2 and while we would hear an occasional chair being moved the stateroom was relatively quiet. I can't comment on starboard or port side on the Western since I've only done the Eastern so far. HTH

I would choose 8522. We were in 8532 for the June 8 Western cruise. This side of the ship seems to be in a premium spot for Key West (faces the port/town), Cozumel (faces the sea, unless you are docked beside another ship in which case you can practically chat with your equivalent on the other ship), Grand Cayman (faces 7 mile beach) and Castaway Cay (faces the beach). Of course, sometimes they change direction for Castaway Cay and our docking position in Cozumel was different from the first 2 trips apparently. But being under the adult pool will definitely be quieter, so it is worth it for that alone. Whatever you choose, you will have a grand time and a beautiful room. Enjoy!
