Just returned from Disney and can't beleive after over 25 trips to Disney I found myself starting a pin collection, should have did it sooner. The bad news is my pin collection was stolen on our flight home and I am heart broken. It was me and two of my girls birthdays this past week and we all got special Birthday pins and then we picked up some Mulan pins because we have 5 daughters adopted from China. I bought a larnier at Disney and had our 6 pins on it and low and behold it was missing from our bags. In fact the entire Disney sack with souvenirs was gone, there was a printed note saying our bag was checked and all items were put back in it but I know differant, I did call the airlines just to verify it wasn't put aside on mistake by the person checking the bag , but it wasn't.. i am just sick. So, please for people traveling to Disney be aware when packing, Disney pins should also go in your carry on. We learned the hard way.

Absolutely complain and NOT STOP to the airlines...Also, write Disney about this...I know they are very accomodating....They may be able to assist with getting the pins you lost back.....Good luck, and update us.

Sounds like TSA. Call them....

Thanks I did call TSA and they didn't want to take responsibility since we came in on the Magical express. I was on the phone 3 hours on Friday with differant places. I was so frustrated. I just never dreamed someone would take something like that but I guess from what i hear it happens more than a person thinks. It really sickens me.

I had a similar experience. TSA never wants to take responsibility. Fortunately, I got in contact with a very sympathetic airline carrier employee and I was able to get them to reimburse me for my loss; forutnatley I still had the receipts. I guess I'm lucky to get my money back, but I'd rather have my pins and other souveniers

My plan for my upcoming trips is to have a carry-on and a checked bag. I will put most clothes and such in my carry-on when arriving, but when going back home I will be putting all my clothes, etc in my checked bag so I can fit my souvenirs in my carry-on. It also helps if you are traveling with someone else, each person is allowed a carry-on and personal item on most airlines. Everyone can throw their clothes and stuff in the checked bag so more room for your special items bought on vacation to have with you the whole time.

Sorry about your situation :sad1:

Our first pin-trading experience, we spent a whole week pin trading, plus DD6 picked a few pins that she loved. Our second to last night there, she took of the lanyard to go play in the Boneyard, and left it in the stroller. On the way out of the park, she saw a CM and wanted to trade, and it was gone from the stroller pocket! someone must have lifted it while we were playing. DD was heartbroken, so I let her use my pins for trading our last day.
As soon as we got home, I took the last picture of her wearing her lanyard, as well as my memory, and one at a time bought all the pins back using ebay. The kept it in the closet and used it to suprise her for our next trip! Boy was she suprised!

We *never* put our pins in any checked baggage, having heard too many horror stories about valuables going missing. As a matter of fact, anything I can't bear to part with - including jewelry or any other sentimental items - is always with me in my carry-on.

Sorry they went missing :( .

If you would like to send me your address I would love to send you and your family some pins.I know it wouldn't replace what you had but I can sure try my best. Please send me your address and some of your favorite Character's/Theme's and I can get them sent out asap. I will also check to see if I have some souvenirs laying around.

We have had things missing from our bags after TSA went through them at MCO. One was a ring, my daughter bought it for a dollar (no big deal it's the point) and the other was an anorack. We even ended up with a conservation pin from AK in our luggage which we did not purchase. I've learned to carry on anything of importance to you. On the departure flight I check my dirty laundry.:rotfl:
