View Full Version : Circle of Life Replacement

Just came across the following rumour on Screamscape from July:

Nearby I’ve heard an odd rumor that a new video based show is under consideration to take over The Circle of Life show in Epcot’s The Land pavilion. The rumor going around was that it may involve Pixar characters somehow, and given the environmental themes of the pavilion and former show, I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in Wall-E.

Has anyone heard any more about this? That would be exciting. While Circle of Life was a cute film, once was enough really.

I think most of Epcot needs to be replaced at this point.

Yeah, once really was enough. Wall-E would be a good replacement. I hope they make it into a great show.

You really think that? Epcot's our favourite park. We usually spend three days there each trip.

Well, they should do something with Innoventions, Universe of Energy, Wonders of Life, put something permenant in the "Millenium Village" building between France & The UK, and please do something with the Odessey building.

I love Epcot, it's my fav park, but to be honest I don't spend much time up front. Most all my time is spent in the World Showcase.

bring back the old journey into imagination back.
do something with The Land, besides Soarin', thats all I go in there for.
bring back Wonders of Life! If anything, do something new with it!

I concur. Is Mission Space any better than Horizons? Is Test Track any better than World of Motion? Is Honey I Shrunk The Audience any better than Captain EO? Is the newer version of Journey Into Imagination any better? These are just a few of the changes that have been made in Epcot over the years and I for one like the original attractions over the newer ones.

There are several parts of Epcot that do need some attention to and those areas are first and foremost The Wonders of Life pavilion. It's extremely sad to see Disney let that fall apart over the years when it was extremely popular after its inception. I can only blame Disney and the level of inactivity and it's unwillingness to upgraded WOF in it's failure.

All I can say to that is "To each his own" because we certainly end up spending more time at EPCOT than we do the other parks too!

If it is Wall-e, I hope it is not too "preachy." Everyone wants clean air and clean water but not everyone believes in the "OMG....we're not going to have a planet to live on in 10 months unless we do something NOW!" message that come from a lot of environmental groups.

I love Epcot!!! Yes maybe a few things need to be updated and I would love the wonders of life pavillion to come back. I homeschool and would love to have that back! But we spend alot of time there. Besides soarin I also love the boat ride through the gardens it is one of my favorites. It makes learning fun!

Actually, I never saw Circle of Life...I wish I had now.
We need more veggie-veggie, fruit-fruit in The Land, I think ;)

I LOVED the veggie-veggie fruit fruit. I had a giant broccoli I cuddled with every night. My sister had the tomato. Best memory. Ahhhh, good times.

I agree with you. I remember my sister and I loving this show when we were kids. It is pure nostalgia thinking back on it.
Speaking of that, I loved it when Epcot, and Disney theme parks overall were a little less character-based. There were attractions that had their own unique characters, like the Kitchen Kabaret. It made the times when you actually did see the characters or were in the Kingdom watching the parades, riding the rides in Fantasyland, etc. that much more special. Not every ride, show, or attraction must have the obligatory Disney character.

Okay, back to topic, I do love Wall-E, but let's keep Pixar to Pixar place! DHS is a great place for these characters to live. We already have Nemo swimming around at the Living Seas.

Epcot is my favorite park as well. That's why I think it needs an upgrade both in both areas. I also agree with someone who said that some of the newer things have not been better than the older ones. I think Soarin has been a great addition though. I would argue that doesn't mean they should stop adding or improving, just that they need to do a better job. They could use a new world in the showcase like India or Brazil and a new ride or two as well.

Why would they need to do something with Innoventions and Universe of Energy?? We love those attractions and Innoventions always changes already.

I hope they put a Wall E Movie in the Land. That would be great. They need to change some things in Epcot. Also Honey I Shrunk the Audience. That needs to be changed.

I had the eggplant stuffed toy and still do. I also have the SMRT-1. I miss them at Epcot though.

Kitchen Kabaret, the predecessor show to Food Rocks in the same theater, and generally regarded as far superior to it successor.

Epcot by a long shot is my fav. park Yes they have room to improve but who ever said that Epcot makes me cry! If I was to do something diffrent add a few more nations around showcase lagoon, I read Brazil even Russia! there are lots of people from that culture that visit Disney and I belive it should be show cased. I am betting IF Chicago gets the 2016 games Disney will put in $$$ in Epcot to show case more culture and the games.

I totally agree! My DD10 loves this little movie but it has sooo brain washed her into thinking that the world is going to end before she is an adult and that mom and dad don't care about the earth. Needless to say, she hasn't seen it the last couple of visits.
