I don't have a telephoto lens. I wanted to see that perspective of the parks.

Sure thing...I use telephoto a lot, mostly at Animal Kingdom, but occasionally elsewhere too. Here's a sampling:

Those are awsome. I especially like the one on Everest. These are the types of pics I can see happening all over the parks. AK should not be the only place you should use your telephoto. Getting up close with the expressions of your family on a ride or taking detailed pics of arcitecture is a completely different way of shooting at WDW.

just curious - can you post which telephoto lens you used for your shots? Thanks!

For my shots, my 432mm photos and 720mm photo were taken with a Sony h5 with a Zeiss 6-72mm F2.8-3.7 lens on a 6x crop factor. The 720mm shot also had a HGD-1758 1.7x teleextender mounted. All of my other 200-375mm shots were using a Sony SAL18-250mm F3.5-6.3 lens on a 1.5x crop factor Sony Alpha A300 camera.

Justin, what kind of lenses are you using that allow you to get up to 720mm? I know you're shooting Sony, but geez! Are you using a teleconverter?

Of course everything is in optical 35mm equivalence...but I've actually got two different cameras that can reach that far.

The shots above were taken with my Sony DSC-H5 superzoom - it has a 6-72mm optical CZ lens with a 6x crop factor that got it to 432mm, then a HD-1758 1.7x teleconverter lens attached that pushed it to 720mm.

With my A300, I use a Tamron 200-500mm lens, with my DSLR's 1.5x crop factor to get 750mm optically.

That's actually why I bought the Tamron in the first place - when I moved to DSLR, I was way too spoiled by the reach of the H5 + teleconverter, and had to get something with the same reach! Of course, I don't bring the 200-500mm around the parks - I'd probably get stopped at the gate, and even if not, it's just a bit too much of a handful to be carting around Disney.
