Congrats to Amanda, Catie and the other 14 girls on the David De Marie North Buffalo minis!! they had a terrific finish at the Rochester Invitationals yesterday!

Acro: Gold and 1st place (by 1 point)
Ballet: Gold, 1st place
Tap: Gold and 1st place
Jazz: Gold and 2nd place, only 2 points out of 1st!

They danced in a no airconditioned school...temps over 95 degrees inside and still danced so well...we are all so proud of them!

Considering the conditions they had to dance under, it's a miracle they could even dance. 1 girl from another studio passed out backstage. One of the Dad's from our group went and bought a huge fan for our dressing area, another dad went to the local supermarket and bought lots and lots of water, sports drinks and ice. The group running the comp. ran out of water by 4:00pm. I ran to McDonalds and picked up McFlurries. It was a very rough day in the heat. Their dance teacher had to leave because she brought her kids with her (1 is only 3 months old) and they were not dealing well with the heat, especially the baby.

My daughters acro group took a special award today for best overall gymnastics routine. Their dance was called "Spiders" and the award was based on their movements and tricks always being in character for their song. They were in black from head to toe and most of the formations made them look like a HUGE spider.

PLUS...our studio took the Star Studio Award for winning the most Gold medals throughout the 3 days of competition.

Do i sound a bit proud?
