To my DISboard friends,
I want to share this special moment I had with my daughter on her wedding day. I just ask you remember two things:
1. I do not dance, but I would have done anything for her on her wedding day.
2. The dance begins around 11 seconds into the video.
Hope you enjoy.
Dave

Well, it worked for me. And, it made me cry long before the end. What an amazing thing you did for your daughter. Most of the time during the father and daughter dance people watch for the first few seconds and go on with what they were doing. To do that in daylight "on stage" took a lot of guts! Way to go! What a beautiful memory. You did good. You danced wonderfully.

That was absolutely beautiful. Congratulations, on your performance as well as what looks like a very beautiful wedding.
I was crying too. Why can't they stay little just a little longer? Great song choice... the little girls were adorable, then the bride, I think I am crying again.

I hope when my time comes, I do half as well as you did. Mine is 15 YO and it seems like yesterday I was watching her take her first steps. Sure you feel the same. Best wishes to your family.

This is just wonderful!! Thank you for sharing!! That is Steven Curtis Chapman's greatest song! It's what I want to use at my wedding without a doubt.
That song makes me cry just when I hear it on the radio. It came out a few months before he lost his five-year-old daughter, so that context just kills me every time.

My favorite Steven Curits Chapman song is I Will Be Here. James and I had that in our wedding. I think the Cinderella song is very bittersweet, but the tradegy with his daughter just makes the song even more touching.

"I Will Be Here" is such an amazing song! I want to use that as my first dance at my wedding (I mean, I know I need a man first, but still). Have you heard the song "I Will Go There"? I have heard it used for a couple who is dealing with the wife's Alzheimer's, and it is very appropriate. All of his love songs are so pure and sincere, that you can't help but get teary eyed. I think SCC writes as many songs about his wife and kids than about God, which is okay with me. It's good to see a man who loves his family that much.

Way to go, Dave! I cried uncontrollably while watching that. The look on your face at the end of the video was so touching.
I showed my husband and even he had moist eyes by the end. Thinking of his teenage daughters, no doubt!
Thank you so much for sharing that video with us. I hope that you and you daughter hold on to that moment forever.

I'm Dave's wife and the dance truly was magical! There was hardly a dry eye - even some emotional men (especially those with daughters!) ;) The 2 girls in the beginning are our next-door-neighbors.
Now we're getting ready for round two as our son gets married next month - just 2 months and 1 day after his sister! :)

Thank you for sharing that! That moment was such a blessing that I'm sure you will cherish. I lost my father to cancer when I was 7 and my wedding day was bittersweet without that special dance. I look forward to my own daughters wedding (hopefully not for about 20 years!) and seeing her dance with my husband!

That was so sweet, I can't believe you both made it through without sobbing :lovestruc
I grew up in Port Orchard, and your daughter looks around the same age as me, I wonder if I ever met your cinderella?
My daddy danced with me at my wedding too, but I was merciful on him and played a song that wasn't a "daddy Daughter" song, but was one that we always used to sing together when I was little "All of Me" It was very upbeat and fun and I think he appreciated it because he would have bawled all the way through a sweet song like that, you two looked amazing and I KNOW she will remember that moment her whole life!!
Good job Daddy!

I went to Burley Glen. - we left PO when I was about 11 I think, but your dd is about 6 years younger than me, so I doubt we met - I really like it down there though (we live up north now), we have friends that still live there and I really enjoy visiting - lots of childhood memories there! We went to PO Assembly of God church and lived right around there.

Thank you very much for sharing this moment with us. Like others, I don't know how you got through it without breaking down. You're a strong dad!
Our church has a yearly father/daughter lunch and I was asked to sing something for the "entertainment" portion of the lunch this year. This song was picked out by my DD(6)... so I sang the song while she danced around me. She was soooo cute twirling around and around... at one point I forgot a part of the lyrics because she had me laughing! But if I were doing this for her wedding I don't know if I could get through the whole song... I'd be a babbling, broken-down crying old man.
