View Full Version : Strange happenings at the DLH

My SIL and BIL go often to DL and on their last visit they stayed at the DLH. I had to share what happened to them because it is very....interesting.
My BIL is a very reliable, responsible person and he is not one to make up stories like this one. He said he woke up at 2 am to go to the bathroom. On his way out and back to bed, he leaned over the sink and drank water out of the faucet. When turning his head to do so, he saw a young girl about the age of 8 or 9 walking towards the hotel room door to go out. It was dark, but he clearly saw a shadowy figure. Thinking it was his daughter, he called her name, looked towards the door and found that no one was there. He went to her bed and she was there sleeping soundly and he then knew that he had seen a ghost! He woke up his wife, told her what happened and then had a hard time going back to sleep. The next morning he told a CM about his experience and she told him that strange things happen at the DLH.
Has anyone seen a ghost at the DLH? And if so, doesn't it make sense for a child ghost to wander around Disneyland?
Again, please remember that I wouldn't be sharing this if I doubted the source. We are sharing this because we are curious to see if anyone else has experienced something eerie at the hotel.

I felt the same way as you and I asked my BIL a million questions. Were you dreaming? Are you sure you saw it? Were you fully awake? What did she look like? My DH wakes me up to go to the bathroom when we stay in hotel rooms just because of this story!
Again, he is a solid, sane, intelligent person. I wouldn't share this with my dis buddies if I didn't believe him.

I think that is a very interesting story - if I have learned anything in this life it is that just about everything is possible.
What I think is more interesting is the CM's response, which seems to indicate that they hear these stories a lot. Hmmmm.....
And now Molly is going to sleep with the lights on! LOL! :rotfl:

Wow, that was a great story. Very creepy, maybe more so cause im sitting in a dark room trying to fall asleep in a house that we are house sitting for the weekend and im pretty sure this house is haunted too. Lol. I saw an old man or woman sitting in a recliner at the end of the hallway the other night. :0. Ive heard other haunted Disneyland stories but not of the DLH. Very eerie. Well im gonna “TRY" and get some sleep. Lol.

i love staying in haunted places! The queen mary is the best, but I'll be staying for the first time at the DLH on sept 25. I wouldn't mind seeing a ghost.

That would have freaked me out a bit. We stayed there last year and didn't notice anything, I would love to know the room number.

I have no doubt whatsoever that this story is true, because a similar thing happened to me. I got out of the shower and I thought I had seen a shadowy figure out of the corner of my eye. The mirror was all steamed up, but somebody had written a word with their finger: ORRUHC
When I wiped the steam off the mirror to make the word disappear, I could see that the wall behind me was bleeding! But the blood looked more brown than red, and it also seemed like it had some kind of tiny crystals in it. I touched it and then tasted it -- it was cinnamon sugar!
I went to the front desk to ask about all of this, and the CM told me that nobody died there, but it was a pretty regular occurrence for people to spend a rough night in the DLH bathrooms after eating too many churros the previous day. Gave me the creeps!

Disneyland is said to have many ghosts throughout.
Some of you may remember me posting that I would never spend the night in the HM (as cool as it may be). That is due to things that I have heard about spirit (not the ones the ride is based upon).
The Disneyland Hotel is said to have a few ghosts of it's own that reside there. Believe, don't believe. We all have our own theories on ghosts and the paranormal, but ghost sighting in the hotel are not unheard of.
Brancaneve, may I ask: Was their room located on the koi pond side of the hotel?

A few years ago when my daughter and I were waiting for my DH and son just at the opening of where the Haunted Mansion lets the people out of the attraction, it was dark outside, we were sitting on that little stone wall sort of an area, and I felt the presence of many ghosts, etc., I felt. It had nothing to do with me thinking it was the haunted mansion, there was just a sudden feel to the air that we were not alone. It was eerie.
I do believe I felt the presence of ghosts a few years before that; it was my husband's grandparents on both sides of his family that I felt their presence (spirits, ghosts, etc.) I felt their presence at the farmhouse where one set of them used to live (where my husband's parents then lived, and we had gone to visit them.) I was nursing my baby daughter in the dark, in the middle of the night in the living room, and all of a sudden I knew that the 4 of them were sitting there on the loveseat a few feet away from us. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and although I was terrified to look up because I knew I would literally see them, I knew they meant no harm so I averted my eyes (out of my own fear) but gently turned toward her toward them a bit so they could see her beautiful face. I knew they were smiling at her. I am getting chills now just remembering the feeling. I said to my husband that it was so odd, because I had never known them or met them; I had not been thinking of anything in particular, but suddenly I knew who all 4 of them were, and what their purpose was. They just wanted to meet their great grand daughter. When I was finished nursing, I went back to the room, holding her, again, to display her toward them, but too scared to look, and I took her back to our room. The feeling was that distinctive to me, that I knew who they were, and what they were there for. And yet, I had only felt their presence, and been too afraid to look to see.
So yeah - I believe the OP's posting is possible.

Interesting story. I too am interested in knowing which room number that was. If anybody has a camera, and is going to be staying at the Dl Hotel, start shooting.
I liked that Churro story, that was humorous.

Hey all! I will call my BIL soon and ask him what the room number is and the general location of the room. I think I remember him saying it was in the newest part of the hotel because I had questioned if it had occured in the oldest section. I will get back to you on that one.

Well I have heard a few different stories, but they don't come from reliable sources. They are interesting though! One I thought was the most interesting, was a guy who died while riding Space. He died somewhere inside the ride. So he gets on the ride in the beginning, and then when that train comes back he is gone.
Another one is a kid sometimes sit outside of HM crying. I think it had something to do with them not letting his mom spread his ashes inside the HM so she put him just outside without them knowing. Creeppy! Haha

Quick call Ghost Hunters! :)
I grew up in a haunted house, it doesn't freak me out at all but if I told that story to DBF he'd never want to stay at the DLH. LOL

Nah, you must be talking about Taco Bell churros. Disneyland ones dont do that to you, but the Taco Bell ones will mess you up. HaHa.

Interesting for one would think that a ghostie would be more of a possibility of being present in the oldest section of the hotel. Of course a property does not have to be old in order for possible paranormal activity to take place, for a property can be new, but if a traumatic experience (s) have occurred there, then the possibility for paranormal activity exists. Where there is land only, there is no telling what history it may hold. So if a property is haunted, it may not necessarily be a matter directly related to the building or home but rather the land.
For the record, anyone that is interested in paranormal investigations, but does not belong to a group, beware, for some of the scariest interactions that one can have is with so called paranormal investigators. :headache: BEWARE .......... :scared1:
