Crazy coincidence, I just last night downloaded the first podcast! Figured I'd start back at the beginning up to two years ago when I found my beloved Podcast! Happy listening!:cool1:

So do I have the date correct? July 2006? :confused3:confused3I downloaded it with wifi and that was the earliest one listed...
Wish there was a way to find out which one was the first I listened to. Would it be on my itunes on my computer? :surfweb: I used to sync it up and download there but now I do it with wifi as soon as I hear that a new podcast is out.
Any suggestions on how to find out?

I did that last year after I found the podcast. It took me a few months to make it through all of them. But it is fun to listen to them. Especially when Pete starts ranting about the ticket prices going up to $70!:rotfl: "Who's going to pay that". I like when they talk about a "rumor" in the past and you already know the outcome. It's like being able to predict the future.

Plus you get to live through the Bob years.

Enjoy :thumbsup2

have fun...I also just did that and finishied up...it took me about 6 months to make it through all the podcasts...but I did skip the email shows, so I guess I still have some work to do ;). There are so many funny moments from those shows, you won't regret listening to them. Anyway...have fun and enjoy.

This is the exact correct thing to do! I did it, too.

It's weird. I listened to the first one available in July 2006. I really thought that was not the first one. It seemed like there should have been more before, maybe because they were so familiar with each other.

I started listening to the podcasts in fall 2007. Didn't discover the DIS boards until six months later when I was plannning a trip. I was really surprised to learn the boards are ten years old.

Do be sure to download the Dis Unplugged video podcasts. Some of them live permanently on my iPod!

I did the same thing over a year ago. I have been on the Disboards since 2002, but didn't start listening to the Podcasts when they first started. Had great fun and many laughs getting caught up, and getting to know the Team.

I just did this about a week ago. We got new high speed Internet at home and I sure tested it out the first week! It turns out that when you compile all the podcasts (excluding the videos) it comes to just over 7 gigs! I filled up my iPhone so much that I didn't even have space to download the new Toy Story Mania! App. Ack! I am already through number 5. It was awesome to hear "the sad little crab cake" and to hear Pete's first rant about ticket prices going to $67. Also, getting to hear Bob's addition to the team and how close everyone was right from the beginning. Looking forward to listening to more! (and clearing out some space!)

I've just started working backwards...should I go back and start at the beginning. I guess my brain works differently, 'cause I never thought about that. :confused3

I'm on # 5 now!...love the story about the "sad little crab cake" Kevin tells such a good story for sure....and Pete's rant was the best!
I like Bob's discount information too...maybe they should do this again?

Forgive me.. but what is the "benefit" of the podcast?
Benefit? :confused3
too many to list for sure...
hints, discount info, reviews, stories, trip planning, and many many more...
I have been listening for about a year now and just decided to start at the first one. I know some information is dated but I am still enjoying it.
If you have never listened in...try it...

Hey Denise! I wondered if you could do me a favour? I have been reading all through the podcasts looking for the episode where Corey and Julie reviewed Velvet sessions. They talk about bud light lime I think and also what type of clothing they wore. Could you tell me what the date was if you come across it? It's not the one on March 27/07 where Pete is talking too. I would sooo appreciate it and thanks!!

I sure will....I am on #7 I think...it started skipping so I turned it off. Might be that I was checking my email and listening at the same time on my touch? There are no girls on the team yet! There was a reference to some on the first ones that Pete was sitting in for someone....a name I have never heard...also there is a guy named Ricky on it that I never knew about...
I am learning SO MUCH. Just have to remember not to get excited about discounts because they are looonnnnggggg gone!!!:lmao:

your not the only crazy one huh, i did the same thing, i am up to the april 1st,2008. but i am starting to get really sad, because i know i only have 3 or 4 more with bob on them. i didn't listen when he was on there, so it's kind of like losing him for the first time. i am so sorry for those of you who knew him, he sounds like he was alot of fun to be around.
denise, you have alot of fun ahead of you!!

:goodvibes I too started yesterday back at the beginning. It's funny that when they say goodbye, I wait for the ending music, which isn't there, it just ends.

I am really glad that this thread and John suggested going back and listening to old podcasts. I am learning so much more about the podcast crew.

another podcast day at work! Can't believe I get paid what I do to listen to podcasts!!!:lmao: if only they knew.....:goodvibes
Got up to #21!
I did look at itunes on my pc and figured out I started listening last Sept. (08)Only have about 1 1/2 years left to listen too.:scared1:
Know what you mean about the music...it has started now and Julie is on the board too! Also got to hear Walter for the first time on the teams trip to Disneyland....
Things I have learned, so far, that have been around since the beginning:
Kevin has always done restaurant reviews, and never holds back--he is the restaurant Guru IMHO!
Pete has always ranted...with good cause of course, just love them, always right on too
Bob is too funny...love his accent for sure
Julie has always been a sweetheart
Corey likes his beer...:rolleyes1 and his Julie but not in that order and is a great source of info
John was a genius even back at the beginning

The contests they had back in 2006 sounded like they where fun....found myself wanting to join in....just a bit too late though:confused:

Happy listening....:woohoo:

Well done you. :worship:

I started listening to the podcast from the beginning. It was very different with a professional presenter. It has evolved for the better to the round table format of today.

After my last hard disc crash I only managed to recover those still on iTunes.

SO....July 2006 IS NOT the beginning.....:confused3
"professional presenter".....That must be the person Pete says he is sitting in for on the first show that is on iTunes....

If it continues to be this slow at work I might get thru them faster then I thought!

Don't think I have found it yet...but on the Jan 30, 2007 episode they do talk about it for the first time I have noticed. It is at the very end of the podcast. John did most of the talking, but Julie and Cory talked too, the Guess Who were there...will keep listening...I am having fun and it makes the time go by fast.

I am so addicted to listening to the podcasts, I have just reached February of 1007, that I havn't been listening to any of my current disney podcasts.:rotfl2:

Though I must saY I really liked the addition of the new segment of rapid fire :rotfl2:.

I am loving hearing the rumours that have come true this year, mentioned way back then, Kevin has a great source.:cheer2:

We discovered the Dis in January 2008.
We have listened to most of the podcasts.
We are currently at Jan/08 so it should be soon.
However we put them on to CD's and take them north to the cottage with us.
Then if it rains or at night DH and I can do something we both love to do.
Listen to the team. :thumbsup2
They are worth listening to in order, starting with the July 25/06 show.
We even listen to the email shows which is really cool when you hear someone that you have met or know. :cool1:
Ricky didn't last long!

update....
I am up to Jan 2008 now! I think I have about 55 podcasts to go and then I will be all caught up. Sometimes it's hard to remember if I am listening to an old episode or a new one......
I have laughed so hard today with the podcasts from the first 2 weeks in Jan. (08) Pete was laughing so hard he was in tears. All too funny and a great way to get thru the day at work.
Just want to reach my goal of getting them all done before going to Disneyland on April 10th.....I get to me meet 4 of them (Kevin, John, Pete and Walter) and it will make me know them even better.;)

I've been working my way backwards, and I just finished episode one (07-25-06) yesterday. I may be biased, but I like the current team better. I think the women bring a lot to the table, more so than Ricky. I miss Bob of course, though!

Denise... you're not crazy! About a year or so ago I started listening from the very first podcast up to the current one. It took me almost a year to get through all of them. Some I played over and over again.

That's probably why we love our podcasters so much... I feel as though they've shared not only their love for Disney, but they've shared their life with me. For that, I am grateful!

It will be a terrific adventure for you. Good Luck!

Forgive me.. but what is the "benefit" of the podcast?
For me, the benefit is being able to immerse myself in Disney for an hour or so. I would love to have a friend who is as crazy for Disney as I am - but I just don't. So I listen to the podcast (and go onto these boards) to get that Disney-fied companionship. This way I don't have to bore my "real life" friends with my Disney obsession.

I do also learn things on there - but that's somewhat secondary for me. :goodvibes

I don't think you are crazy. I have listened from the beginning and always wonder how people who came in to listen later can really understand what is being talked about sometimes without having heard all the past episodes.

I even started going back and listening to the old podcasts myself. I'm listening to 7/24/07 right now. Waiting for today's show.

I started listening to the Podcast July/August of last year and about a month ago I went back to the beginning. I listen a few podcasts a day at work. I'm up to 12/12/07.

I keep laughing out loud, the people around me must think, I'm crazy. :lmao:

It's like you all read my mind...:scared1: I know this is an older post, but I was seriously just thinking today about doing this.

I can't even remember when I started listening, but I'm making it a goal to do 100 new things at Disney this year (we got annuals!!) So I am gobbling up as many podcasts as I can to get ideas of new things to do.

I guess we're all crazy!

Well, I think that's just crazy...crazy awesome! I don't know why I never thought to go back and listen to older episodes. The first one I ever listened to is the one where Bob was going on about donkey poop or camel poop and something about flying poop, I don't know...it was crazy Bob stuff! But it's on the Best of Bob episode and during it Corey is like "what people listening for the first time must be thinking" and when I heard that the second time on BoB (omg...best of bob...b.o.b..get it??) I was cracking up fierce since it was my first show and was thinking what the heck is this weird show. But I've not missed an episode since. It never occured to me to go back and listen to the older ones though. Now I have something crazy to do tonight!

I too started "catching up" last summer. Gotta say I miss Bob! That has definitely been the best part, getting to "know" and love, Bob. Totally bummed that I will never get to see Cart-Cam in all its glory! I also find a lot of info on the old shows, lots of restaurant reviews, Store Tours segments etc. Have really learned a lot about WDW and our Crew!

Update on my progress:
I've moved along and just got to Bob's passing. Good thing I work alone......
I've been listening every day at work to old recordings. Sometimes 2 or 3 a day to get caught up before my Disneyland trip next month. I have never laughed so hard and now I "get" the old jokes.

The show before, Bob was feeling sick, Julie said, so I knew it was getting close to the time....It was so hard hearing Pete announce the sad news. I wasn't on the unplugged forum back then so had no idea who the podcast crew was.
I've lost a friend I never got to meet. I feel so empty. It is so hard and it is almost 2 years late but so sad. I can't begin to think how his friends felt back then.

I can only say...

May his memory be eternal

I only discovered the podcast a few weeks ago, and I immediately went back and downloaded all of the old ones. I am up to November 2007, and I have to say, I love it! Am I the only person that finds themselves interjecting their own comments while listening? Yup, I'm the crazy girl at the office talking to her computer.... :lmao:

Yeah, that was a tough one. Most of us never met Bob, but the reaction to his death on these boards was incredible. It really changed things in the DIS unplugged community. It drew everyone very close together. I think that's part of Bob's legacy. :thumbsup2
