Can Running help your knees? (http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/11/phys-ed-can-running-actually-help-your-knees/?em)

I agree with some of the comments...we need to know a lot more about the people in this study to be able to draw this conclusion...but there's hope!

Interesting! I think I'll still stick with walking, but it is interesting how ideas on what is good/bad for you can change.

I don't care what they say, I know running is not good for my knees. I can feel it :)

Now I am not sure it is that bad long term but after this Goofy I am going to focus more on Tri's and half marathons just to not run as much,

I can't even imagine not being able to run. Now that is today, who knows what a few years will bring. Heck 3 years ago I couldn't even imagine running :)

enjoy,
Duane

I think I might agree with parts of the article. when i first started running my knees HATED me!!! But now with the proper sneakers, rest, etc... my knees feel the strongest they've ever been. Are they sore after I run 8 miles? Oh of course! But there's no pain and I feel great!
