Goin' Jerzy on Ya! NJ Meet AUGUST 30th at 12 Noon!

The Jerzy Meet will be August 30th at 12 noon at the Rainforest Cafe in Menlo Park Mall. Please reply to this post if you are attending and how many people will be coming with you (including kids vs. adults). All are welcome. We will meet in front of the restaurant by the Rainforest Cafe logo towards the side (which is inside the mall). I will have my DIS Unplugged shirt on.

We had a NJ, PA, and DE meet back on Feb 28, 2009. We held it at the cherry hill mall. They have a disney store there and the mall recently remodeled adding a parking garage. It was fun organizing the last meet but I'm pregnant now and haven't been able to get things organized. I'd love for someone else to take over so I can attend. :thumbsup2

Greg and I enjoyed getting to meet a couple of our cruise mates at the meet (Kathy and Jen). We have no kids so we don't need any "stuff", but as long as the date is convenient, we'll try to be there! :thumbsup2

I wanted to try something a bit different than Cherry Hill Mall. I think that would be difficult for the northern NJ people to get to. I thought Menlo or Freehold might be more centrally located. Jackson Outlets (with the Disney Outlet store) is 10 minutes from Freehold Mall so that is another idea.

I wish there was a Houlihan's around that area. The only thing I can think of is TGIFriday's which is near Freehold on Route 9. There's a Ruby Tuesday at Freehold Mall that might be an option along with a Cheesecake Factory which is impossible to get into.

Keep the ideas coming everybody! I was hoping to do something somewhat less complicated than the last NJ et al meet; just a friendly gathering for good company and conversation.

EDIT: Just had another thought...

Menlo Park has a Champs there which has always been great when I got together with colleagues. The menu is pretty good and they have a bar. There's also a Rainforest Cafe at that mall. Thoughts?

Having a meal at a resturant will be difficult if alot of people want to attend. Also people will want to bring their kids too so it has to be kid friendly for a meet that may be hours long. Might want to think food court at the jackson outlets where the disney store is or some where open.

I would be up for a six flags meet. I know the kiddie area called bugs bunny national park is never packed and has that covered theater that we can use to sit and talk in. The shows don't last long and then it is empty for a while. Just not sure how many would be willing to pay to enter for the day.

I live just outside Belvidere (Warren County NJ), just across the Delaware River - Edison is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Bushkill, it's about an hour from where I am. It's the closest of the places mentioned.

Okay, Rainforest Cafe it is! The restaurant is located in Menlo Park Mall which I think is a beautiful place to eat and shop. There's lots of great stores there and yes, they do have a Disney Store.

I think Sunday sounds like a safe day for everyone. When's Labor Day? I don't have a calendar.

Just be sure if your looking for the freehold mall you call it freehold raceway mall its actual name. They have a horse track there. My grandmother took a bus to visit us and went to the freehold mall where we told her we'd meet her and they took her to a strip mall called the freehold mall that was a few miles down the road from the real freehold raceway mall that she really wanted to meet us at.

We were at the one at Cherry Hill Mall. There were quite a few of us. Do you think a restaurant could handle all that? It seemed to work out in the food court because people really didn't sit down - we walked around and mingled. I think this would be hard in a restaurant, especially with kids. I don't want to be critical (because I appreciate that you're coordinating all this!), it's just food for thought.

We ended up with a group of 10. That made for a good sized group to enjoy lunch and chat and share stories- all Disney of course. ;) Then we headed to the Disney Store following lunch for some browsing (and some purchases!).

And I think everyone of us all met each other for the first time! That was fun.
I am so looking forward to getting back together again with everyone at either DAP or PCC2.0 (or both!).

Have any of you guys ever going to the Jersey Pin Trading events with John Rick? We used to go quite often but have not gone in a long while.

Oh - I live in NJ and LOVE Disney. I am generally on the wedding board and theme park board but happened to find this. Sorry I didn't know about this. I would have loved to attend - if you are open to other Disney lovers attend.

I arrive on Fri, 12/4! I pulled out my suitcase last night & started throwing in stuff that I want to wear. I really don't finish packing until the night before. ;)

I haven't completely figured out all my touring plans, but definitely cannot wait for Magic & Merriment!!!
