does anyone know what brands are available in supermarkets?

I don't remember the exact brands of baby food but they are very similar to the ones in the UK. You'll need a little bit of basic French, to try and decipher what the ingredients are though.
To be honest with you I've found baby food in France, and Europe in general, to be a lot more expensive than in the UK and it may be better for you to bring it with you if you possibly can. I beleive that last year we paid around 80 cents per jar which at today rate would be about 70p. you can often get 10 jars for £4.50/£5 in Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury's

thats great thanks for that...my friend is going before us and she was wondering about it....thankfully my 2 are older and will eat anything!!!
