We are going to DLRP in November and I have been looking at having a character meal at Cafe Mickey. We did the tea party last year and were considering doing it again but have read some recent reviews which have not sounded so good.
I have had a look at the brochure and it quotes a price of £28 for adults and £14 for children for a character lunch or dinner. What exactly does this include? Is there a set menu? My girls (4 and 5) do not have big appetites, would it be cheaper to order off the menu rather than pay in advance? DH and I would not be having a starter so just a main course and maybe dessert. Also my daughter turns 4 two days before be go to DLRP - is having a birthday cake worth the money, it seems quite expensive.
Any advice would be fantastic - thanks in advance.

We have just came back from having dinner with a cake at Cafe Mickey. We had a rather large lunch at Walts and then shared pizza here. We ordered the cake when we got there. To be honest it's not that good a cake but would do it all agin just to see his face when the cake was brought out!! If you pre pay for the cake on your bill it works out cheaper.
I would really recommend dining here it was one of our best meals, the children got a little crayon set and the character interaction was fantastic! :goodvibes

I enquired about this recently. The set price includes starter main and dessert. Apparently you can order off any section of the menu if you don't like the set meals. The a la carte menu is not that badly priced. We had mains and dessert only. Mains were around 16 euro each and desserts around 6-8 euro. The kids meals are 16 euro (pretty sure) and they include main course, drink in souvenir cup and a dessert buffet. Alternatively, you could share a mains pizza between the two girls and buy drinks individually. Theres not much in it price wise, but we got change out of 90 euros, so were happy enough.

Thank you for the replies - very helpful. I would really love to have dinner at Cafe Mickey but we are on a bit of a tight budget. Was thinking if DH and I had just a main course each and the girls shared a pizza (which would be more than enough for them) then it could be possible. I assume if we order the birthday cake then we could all share this instead of dessert?
If I call to make a reservation in advance, do I order the cake at the same time or do I need to do that separately. Again any advice on this would be very gratefully received.
Thanks.

I ordered a garlic bread and a pizza at Cafe Mickey for us to share (DD and I) - honestly, we could have missed the garlic bread out completely, just had the pizza, and still not finished it! They are ginormous (the garlic bread is the same size as the pizza).
We did the pizza with soft drinks, and birthday cake, for my DD's 8th birthday. It was fabulous - 2 hours entertainment, about a dozen characters, and the cake presented by the Main Mouse himself :goodvibes. Totally worth it, even though the cake is very sweet and sickly (most of our cake was either given away or chucked in the bin before we left our hotel).

Thanks again every - I think we are definitely going to book it. Just to check, can I order the cake on the same number I would call to book a table?
The burger would be good - doesn't appear on the menu I have read.

You can order it on the same line but if you want to pay for it you have to phone the line to pay your bill to add it onto your bill.
You all have me thinking now was it a burger?:confused3:rotfl2: I'm sure it was a Simba's Black Angus Burger??????:confused3 See I knew I should have taken more pics of the food and the menu's than the kids!!:lmao::lmao:
