My family just returned from a trip to South Carolina (visiting Air Force neice & new husband) and we experienced a problem with ants in our popup. I understand that camping cannot be bug free, but this was the worst we'd experienced yet (I did not enjoy waking up to ants crawling in my bed!). I tried to keep food sources to an absolute minimum with ziplocks and sealed containers, but they still crashed our party! Does anyone have any hints as to keeping the critters outside where they belong? Thanks!

Simple solution for keeping them out.....spray poison on the tires of the camper (all the way around) and everything else that touches the ground.

we sprinkle borax around the tires and the level jacks.....dont know if it really works or if we've just been lucky...but no ants so far. We also use borax for the laundry....2 birds, one foam!

we had the same problem once too. The ants we dropping of a tree limb above our camper and crawling in up and over tires. I've never seen so many ants in my life, they were on every surface inside and out. CREEPY!!!! :scared1: we bought an ant killing powder we sprinkle around each tire, hitch, any area touching ground or tree and sprinkle around a tree too if it overhangs our camper!!! It's not happened again since we've started doing it. Good luck!

After our one and only invasion I sprinkled comet cleaner around everything that touched the ground and kept all hoses, etcc.. off the ground. Haven't had a problem since.

I second the Terro traps to get the boogers out of the camper.
