oops will try this again as i posted with the trip reports by mistake!!We are saying here in a couple of weeks for a short 2 nights 3 days. Are the buses to the park regular and what time is the last bus as we would like to see the fireworks one night and am concerned about getting back to the hotel after this. I read in britsguide book that they give you a free train day rider ticket, has anyone experienced this? I dont want to have to pay extra for travelling on the train.Any help would be greatly appreciated

I will be staying there next week (18th - 20th), so I will be able to answer your questions when I get back if noone else can (but I hope they do because I would like to know the answers before I go!) I was trying to research the bus timetable, but cannot find a current one, just one from 31/08/09, so I don't know if there is one. I'll probably take the train. There are ones about every 15 mins between 2300 & 0020.

Sorry, don't know anything about a rail ticket, I've only read about the free shuttle.

The cost of a rail ticket is very reasonable, it's only one stop so something like €1.60 each way.

When we stayed they didnt give you a free railcard - you just had the free shuttle bus. We used the train often though as the buses werent very regular, and we liked to have more flexibility. The train is quicker too!

I am just back from Hotel L'Elysee & the bus service was great & free. We didn't use the train at all.

The bus stop is opposite the hotel for journeys to DLRP & you have to get on a No. 34 Circuit C or D

You will be given a handout showing these times when you arrive, but I thought I would type them out in case you wanted to forward plan. These times are valid 04/070/09 - 30/08/09

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the fireworks as my daughter was too tired to stay, so I can't comment on how packed the buses are when the park closes. The hotel was fine, the reception staff spoke perfect English, everything was very clean, it was so close to the bus stop & shopping centre & the bar prices weren't expensive (Diet Coke 2.55 & small bottle of water 2.30 euro)

oh thanks for getting the info back karen. The buses seem to run late so that eases my worries a lot. Hope you had a great time.

thanks for that karen, we go next thursday and i've been having seroius doubts about the hotel. My niece stayed there last yr and said it was "just alright", all we really want is somewhere to lay our heads at the end of the day. We've always been within walking distance of the parks and never had to rely on the buses before. Glad you thought they were reliable :goodvibes
