My vaca is 9/6-9/11 and I haven't booked for the dine in restaurants on the dining plan! Have I really screwed up? I need quick suggestions on where to eat although I fear that by now I may have to just take what I can get.

Go to www.disneyworld.com and look up some restaurants and try the online booking option. If the restaurant you are trying to book is not available, the online booking engine will give you alternatives that have availability.

Ok, so I've been reading through some threads and I'm confused. When we booked we were told that only the character meals had to be booked 90 days in advance not everything. Yikes! So, do all meals have to booked? Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners?
Also, does it help that we're late eaters? Dinner for us is best after 7:30 and sometimes even later.

Yes, all Disney restaurants may be booked up to 90 days in advance.
They do not HAVE to be booked, but during the period you are going, because of the free dining offer you run the risk of being turned away from restaurants if you don't have a reservation, especially the ones inside the theme parks and the very popular resort restaurants like Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana.
You do have a better chance at booking later dinners.

this is a last minute trip for us so we were about 30 days out when we started planning adr's. it was a little stressful at first but got most of our favorites. all of our ressies are between 8:30-9pm though. So... if you are ok with eating late you may be ok!!
i have actually been trying to get my family on a late night dinner schedule(8pm) and late lunch (1:30-2) the past couple of weeks so our bodies will be more accustomed to that schedule once we get there.

As long as youre not fussy as to when you eat you may be ok. Some people dont book meals at all and end up with nothing so you still have a month.
Ok first choose which resteraunts you would like to dine at.
Second be flexible with dates and times. you may do lunch Table service instead of dinners to open up some more times or eat an early dinner say 4pm.
Third Call Disney 1 407 934 7639 speak with an agent they will be able to help you faster than going online. tell them the dates and resteraunts you want one at a time and they may be able to work some magic for you. Once you have the reservations breath and let us all know how it went for you :) Good Luck!!

If you are doing table service (anything sit down where you are waited on)yes it should be booked. Quick service (counter service) cannot be booked just stand in line and order.
Later is good too for dining the regular meal times 5 - 7 will probably be booked but you can always ask they could have cancelations. Doesnt hurt to ask.

- Go for lunch instead of dinner
- Restaurants at the resorts tend to fill up less than the ones in the parks
- Some places that seem to be somewhat less busy than others are: Biergarten, San Angel Inn, Morocco in Epcot/ Wave, Kona, Sanaa, Trails End, Boatwrights, Shutters at the resorts.
If you are flexible you should still be able to find some good ADRs. Good luck!

A few table service restaurants don't take advanced dining reservations. Last I checked, Beaches N Cream at the Beach Club, and Big River Grille and ESPN Zone at the Boardwalk did not take ADRs. Just keep in mind, just because they don't take ADRs doesn't mean they won't be busy!

How are your ADR's coming?
I know we ate at some nice places last year when I booked in May for September (it was 180 day ADR's then). I wasn't able to get Chef Mickey's for dinner (the only TS that I did both earlier trips) but did get breakfast, it was so good we are going again on our last day at WDW.

We booked reservations 3 weeks out on our last trip as it was kinda of a spur of the moment decision to have a family gathering in June. We were able to get many reservations for the entire group at the same restaurants. We had to be flexible and sometimes the reservations were for separate tables but it all worked out. And usually the restaurant sat us all at the same table even though we would have been happy with near by tables.
We also made reservations for meals at lunch instead of dinner. Although we couldn't get into the character meals and had to go to restaurants that were new to us, we still had a good time and some great meals.
