My 10th anniversary is Aug 21st but we are waiting to celebrate when we are in Disney. We are heading down Dec 12-20.
What are some special things we could do with the kids. We may get a sitter but I'm not sure how comfortable I am. Plus my son can get clingy and I'm not sure if he would let me leave him alone with a sitter!!!
Any special things that wouldn't break the bank would be great. My kids are 8 and 5
Thanks in advance.
Selena:)

Congrats Selena! We've not used a sitter at Disney but did use the Neverland Club at the Polynesian and the kids LOVED it!! DS had a blast & asked to go again, the CM's are really good w/ the kids. You may be surprised! We enjoyed our special night & the kids did too, it's nice to have a little break. Have a magical trip!

A carriage ride at POFQ is something you could do with your children but still be a little romantic.
BTW, Aug. 21 is also our anniversary. Hope the date is as good for you as it has been for us, we will be celebrating our 33rd at Jasper Park Lodge.

I'll think about the kids club at the resorts. I'm a little nervious with my son because he gets bored easily and can wondering off if no one is paying attention that's why I like the idea of an inroom sitter but he can be shy with strangers. This is something recent.
I hope its a short phase. He is also special needs, although it is mild.
I'll look more into it though I would love to get a way for a few hours. LOL
Thanks.

we are staying at POR so the carriage ride is something I was looking at doing. Not sure if we would take kids but if I can get a sitter we will go for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
Happy Anniverary to you. Wow 33 years, I hope I'm just as happy when its my 33rd anniverary. That's great.

We did the carriage ride on our 30th when at WDW and saw lots of people taking their children. Back when I was planning for our 30th anniv. trip, I had a thread discussing some romantic ideas for the world. It is dated, and if you do a search there may be newer/better threads but you can check it out here (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1113391).

We celebrated our 10th there as well, at BWV, without the kidlets though. However a cute thing Disney did for us was, we let them know it was our anniversary and when we arrived a balloon attached to a card with a photo of Cinderella and Prince charming and it was signed by them. We also were treated to a special dessert at dinner. Depending on where you eat, you can order special cakes, there is a thread going, just search it. Awesome cakes!!! Kidlets will love that!!! The Boardwalk is a great place to visit as well in the evening, great romantic strolls, buskers, etc which is all free!!
Have a great time!!!

We will check the boardwalk out. Thanks. We missed downtown disney last time but this time we have more free time. I'll look into ordering a cake. I'm thinking about making a dinner reservation for our check in night since we won't be going to a park that day and I will look into ordering a cake for that night.
Thanks.
