Hello everyone! A while back I posted regarding a summer reading program challenge I issued to the kids at work. If they read 50,000 minutes I would dye my hair. Well we've got the rest of the week to go and they are up to 47,759 minutes so I think they'll reach my challenge- and my hair will be pink. :rotfl:
I'd like to make a shirt that says:
Bottle Of Hair Dye - $12.99
Custom Shirt - $8.99
Trip to Disney World - $1,200
Dying My Hair Because My Kids Read 50,000 Minutes in 42 Days - Priceless
But all my designs have turned out blah.
I'm hoping that all the talented and creative folks here would be willing to help me create a nifty design for a shirt. I would prefer it to have a rounded background (rounded squares are fine, just no pointy squares) and be fun and cheerful. It doesn't have to be Mickey themed. The shirt I have to use for a transfer is mint green (can post a photo if desired). The wording can be changed if you have a better suggestion as well. Thank you so much in advance!

Here is a quick design, I can tweak anything, the font I don't care for, just an idea. The green background is just to give you an idea on your shirt. :)

WOW! These are so great! I ♥ Mr. Incredible with pink hair! :rotfl:
Belle is perfect! I love that you found a picture of her with a book and then made her hair pink. Especially the whole library tie in.
Thank you both so much! I think I'm going to try and find a couple more shirts, so I can make multiple shirts. :upsidedow
Especially since it's now definite that I'll be dying my hair. After two more kids they are up to 48,500 minutes- with two days to go! :goodvibes

As of around 5:30 this evening (I had to leave early for a meeting with Recreation) they were up to around 56,000 maybe a bit more!

AWESOME JOB by all the kids!!! What a fun way to challenge them!! I am a HUGE advocate of reading--- especially in the summer when they're not in school!:woohoo::yay::dance3:

OP, I replied the 1st time you posted about my ds8 (2nd grader) wanting to read 4000 minutes over the summer (our reading challenge ends 09/08). As of yesterday he's up to 3106 minutes!!!! I still wish our librarian would do something like this... you are a a hoot!!!

Two things- First I wanted to post their final total. As of our finale party yesterday they had 59,821 minutes!
Second- Marion, I was wondering if you could do another quick disign for me... I would like to put their total on the back of the shirt with the disign you made me, but I want the fonts to match. I would love for it to say (centered):
59,821 minutes
Chesley Memorial Library
New Hampshire
(I debated on the town, and then decided to keep it out for safety reasons).
I know you are super busy, but would really appreciate if if you could. Thanks in advance!

I love that you did this to challenge the kids to read this summer! I feel so lucky that my DD8 loves to read! Pink just might be your signature color!princess:

So, how long will you keep your hair pink? Is that another challenge read-a-thon for the kids? ;)

LOL, it will stay pink until it fades out and then i will re-color it to my 'natural' shade. I haven't decided if I'll do it again next year with a different color!

I want to say it was rumblytumbly's but I'm not positive. Once I get my computer back I can check my documents folders and let you know though... (my computer goes to my mom's when we leave for vacation) unless someone beats me to it! :rotfl:
I absolutely love the design you mad me too, I can't thank you enough! It's going to be perfect for work as well. :cutie:
