I know this is probably a silly question but, how does free dining work? Isn't it if you stay at a moderate or deluxe hotel you get the Disney dining plan and if you stay at value resort you get the Quick Service Dining Plan? Does everyone get free dining if they book before the deadline, or is it only certain people?
I'm so confused. :confused3

You have to book Free Dining as a package. It requires you to pay rack-rate for the room and also buy at least a one-day park pass. Not everyone wants the free dining. We are saving more with our AP room rate than we would with free dining. It's not automatically given to everyone staying on-site during those times (but that would be nice) :thumbsup2

I've moved this thread to the Disney Dining Plan board. :)

FD is open to everyone as long as you book a package that consists of paying rack rate for your room and purchasing at least a one day ticket for everyone (ages 3 and over) staying in your room. There also must be availibility for your dates at your resort of choice as there are limited number of rooms available at each resort.
If you have a discount for a room only or use DVC points, then FD is not available.
