I live in Pittsburgh, the home of the worst potholes in the world. What does that have to do with my car radio? Well, every time I hit a pothole the station changes through the favorites set on the radio. Very annoying when I am trying to listen to an audio book on my iPod using one of those fm things. So now I guess I have to have the radio replaced. The car is 10 1/2 years old. Works great. I don't drive distances I take the bus to work, so the mileage is very low. But the hour long trip back from my vacation got really infuriating. The LCD display hasn't worked for over a year, except at a very narrow temperature range outside. Mid 50's or so. I suppose I am going to have to replace the radio. I just care about getting local radio for short trips and a line in jack so I don't have to worry about the fm thing. I can just use it for power for the iPod. And a clock that I can see would be nice too. I wonder how expensive car stereos are, how much it costs to install. I have a long drive coming up in a couple of months, so a new radio is a must. Its always something getting in the way of me saving money for my Disney trips.

I feel your pain. I'm also driving a 10 year old car, and my car stereo display is fading in & out. If I flick the lcd, it goes back to normal, but who knows how long that's going to last?

I don't know that I trust BestBuy per se, but they have car stereos with aux jacks for $80 on their site, and GeekSquad installation starts at $50.

Hope that at least gives you some idea of what the cost is...
