I feel like I'm going bonkers, but I swear the appi was still included when I booked for our upcoming trip. I'm just now seeing that it no longer is and I'm kinda (really!) annoyed.

Appies were dropped with the 2008 Dining Plan.

When the 2008 plan was announced, it no longer included the appy or tip and the price went down a buck.

Apps are only included in Disney's Deluxe and Premium Dining plans. As stated above, this was changed last year.

There were, however, some misprinted brochures, perhaps you got one of those?

Also realize the other major change was dropping the gratuity for the 2008 plan and now 2009. I think for all this they reduced the price a whole dollar!

was changed 18 months ago...and the last "wrong brochures" went out almost that long ago. We went in 5/2008, 9/2008, 1/2009 and 5/2009...brochures were all showing no app & no tip for the basic dining plan. Maybe you were reading the children 3-9 get an app; seems like a lot of people read that and get confused. (It's not really an app in the adult sense...it's a small cup of soup or carrot sticks & dip...basically a side dish to make it a more balanced nutritious meal for kids.)

As a 1st time DDPr, I am confused as this PDF document (http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2009%20Disney%20Dining%20Plan%20-%20Walt%20Disney%20World.pdf)on page 3 states that table service meals come with an appetizer. Am I reading this wrong?

page 3:
FOR LUNCH/DINNER
Appetizer (Guest ages 3-9 only)
Entrée
Dessert
Non-alcoholic beverage
So NO appetizer included in the Adult plan. BTW, The child's appetizer is from the child's menu.

I understand it to say that the appetizer is for guests aged 3 - 9 only and from what I've heard this is a special kids portion rather than something from the apetizer menu.

The kids appy is generally carrot sticks, or fruit, applesauce etc. Nothing an adult would consider an appy
