June Change Jar Totals Anyone?

So how did everyone do last month? I ended up with my best month ever -- $91!! :D I'd love to make every month like that! I'm hoping to have enough to cover our planned DVC trip to Hilton Head next year by this December. :)

This is the first month for me and my total was 81.00 (not counting pennies). I was very excited. Some weeks when I went to the bank I would get 5 or 10 dollars in quarters to add to it. Is that cheating?????LOL Great way to get your totals up!!!

Well, we just started and I counted 14.61. We just do the extra change in a jar. We save 25/wk out of paycheck in a savings account. It will be interesting to see how we do next month!

Nothing. We're living in Cocoa Beach for the summer, and between the laundromat and the tollroads I have saved but a pittance. Can't wait to get home in August!

Just counted ours tonight - $41 and some pennies. My two girls are really loving this monthly exercise. Tonight my 3 year old went to Daddy's Desk and grabbed his secret stash (around $5 in loose change) and dumped it into the pile like it was loot (she has been known to lift her t-shirt over one eye and do a great pirate impression). My 6 year old daughter started lifting the two swivel rockers and asked me "Is there any money under there?" They have no shame - they even raided their church money bank. Don't worry, I'll spot them their Sunday School tithes!

We had an exceptionally good month saving change.
In coins we had $68.50 (Good Grief...$16.50 was pennies)
In bills we saved $75.00
Since we only had two months between trips I put ones and fives in as I would find them in my pockets or in the dryer.
Grand total: $143.50 (Hey that's almost one whole plane ticket!)

I counted my change today and had 16.00. Not much but that's the miscellaneous--I make up the rest by saving from not going out to eat, saving the cash I don't spend on cigarettes, and not using the tollway (all of this adds up to 45/week!).

Didn't quite get all the way to the bottom
of the change can but time was an issue

Now I only need another $100 in change to buy
my ceiling fan from home depot that I need
If home depot sale goes to 50 or 60% off clearance
I may breakdown & buy one of the clearance fans
for like $40-$50
Not exactly the fan I wanted but at savings like that

We'll be going to Cocoa Beach after our US/IOA trip in December.Can you tell me if there are any good "family"type restaurants there and also,grocery stores? Thanks!

I know this is a little off the mark for June change jar totals,which mine was $46.00,but I was interested in where to eat and shop.

I had $68.00. I started saving change about 10 months ago. We did the 3 night Wonder cruise and 12 nigts at VWL last December. I saved ~ $250 in change for that trip. My son and I got back last Wednesday from 12 nights at AKL/BWV. Since January I saved ~$300 in change for that trip. We're going to Vero Beach and then WDW with friends next July so again the saving of change begins!!

When I first started doing it my husband just laughed. Once I showed him how much I was saving painlessly, he changed his mind. I have even offered to pay for airfare, food and WDW tickets for a friend of my son's to go with us next summer. Everytime I put the change in my Goofy bank, I think how much fun my son will have showing WDW to his best friend (they are both almost 13 and have been best friends since they were 4)!
