From the people there this week id love to know..if youre going to the monorail does it make more sense to walk or monorail.

Its been years since i used the monorail too, if you use it, does the monorail go from Contemporary direct to magic kingdom or does it only go the other way past all the other hotels and transportation center?

now for magical express....how longs the ride from airport to BLT and does it go direct to BLT or what stops does it make?

5-10 minute walk from BLT/CR to MK.

The monorail would go from CR to TTC to Poly to GF before hitting the Magic Kingdom. I definitely wouldn't do that unless someone in my party had an issue with walking.

ME - don't know, never used it.

The resorts monorail goes the opposite direction from the MK. When boarding at the CR, the order of stops is TTC, Poly, GF then MK. Easily a 15 minute trip with the stops.

All DME routes have shared buses with up to 4 resorts per trip. I do not believe there are any fixed routes. Depends upon guest destinations.

so does the monorail only go from contemporary to MK because its only passing thru as it comes from transportation center?

i know for sure the monorail goes both ways

Correct. The express monorail goes in the opposite direction, passing thru the CR on its way to the MK. But it does not stop at the CR.

If you were standing at the TTC facing the MK, the Express Monorail travels in a counter-clockwise direction. The Resorts monorail goes clockwise.

I would also bet that at or near park closing it is also quicker to walk.
Although the mono is traveling in the right direction, by the time you wait in line, travel, and work your way to the walkway, it will be quicker to walk.

yeah with all of this information its much better to walk it would probably take like 30 mins on monorail and 10 mins to walk

So, what are your opinions on resort hopping? Do we just walk to the MK bus stops or take monorail to TTC. Is there resort bus p/up at TTC?

No resort busses at the TTC. Go to the MK bus stops.

The monorail can take you to the Magic Kingdom resorts -- GF, Poly, CR and BLT (via CR). All other resorts you have to take a bus and it would be quicker to catch one at MK. Unlike other resorts instead of having to take a transfer at DTD you can just walk over to MK and take one bus directly to another resort.

No one has mentioned the ferry boat at CR. Where does it go? I know I saw a ferry dock near the remaining garden rooms.

I have taken a ferry from The Contemporary to Fort Wilderness before for HDDR.

We've also stayed in the North Tower before, and took the monorail. I do have issues with "Disney-commando" walking, but not otherwise. However, the main reason we took the monorail is that we didn't know any better.

Plus, I like riding the monorail. There is just something about hearing "Por favor..."

We were told by DVC you check in at CR and the Magical Express drops you there.

Here's a quote from the Bay Lake Tower Live Blog, in reverse order. Here's the website - http://blt-dvc.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-08-04T11%3A15%3A00-04%3A00&max-results=7

Just left the WL and BLT is next!

And we are off! Stopping at all the resorts not sure is we are first or last. Posted by MFJ at 9:33 AM

It looks like it took 35 minutes to arrive.

Does anyone else know exactly where you check in?

The resort ferry at CR goes to FW and WL. This means CR/BLT guests have access to 4 other resorts without having to go to MK to catch a bus. And, you could take the resort monorail to the TTC, transfer to the Epcot monorail, have a stroll thru the park and out the IG and walk over and check out the Epcot resorts without getting on a bus either.

There is no specific route for DME -- it can change on any given departure from the airport.

Excellent! You just named several of the reasons we joined DVC and made BLT our first home resort.;)

Guest check-in is done at the Contemporary only.
