Heard a rumor on DIS that Illuminations may be getting a "change" and could possibly be a no-show during the month of September.

Anyone know anything about this?

I hope this is not true, I have never seen illuminations and I am going at the end of sept and made a night to have my mom babysit the kids, so my wife and I can go to epcot, tour the countries and see illuminations. So any insight would be great.

Didn't they just spend big bucks to refurb the globe? I don't see why they would change things when they've just invested so much into the star of the show.

Yes they did and it looks amazing. It wasn't in the show Marathon Weekend in January but it was back full speed and better than ever in March. I don't see how they would need to shut the whole show down. They add special endings all of the time without interruption.

Well, I doubt they would just shut it down without more warning. Lots of people who booked trips so far in advanced would be disappointed by this (including my own family for the matter.) Wouldn't it be on the Disney World site that it would be refurbished?

Up to last weekend, I would have agreed with you. After they closed Living with the Land without any advance warning, I am no longer so sure.

The calendars page on the Disney World web site is usually very up to date. Stick with that and you will minimize disappointment.
