Best of the best: French Fry Edition

We have passed the two week mark and in a few days I will be checking in online! :banana::woohoo::banana:


As my quest continues to make the most of my FD snack credits (or OOP if I must:laughing:), I am asking for your support in helping me locate <echo>THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!</echo> :cool2:

In this edition, I am looking for the World's best french fries. They should be well formed, well seasoned, crisp on the outside with the consistency of mashed potatoes on the inside. Skin can be on or off but please none of those batter dipped things! :scared1:

So, where are they???

To me they are all the same, BUT I love the places they have the condiments bar with the hot cheese you can add, Hmm so good! Like Pecos Bills, they have grilled onions, mushrooms, hot cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles.. Same with Cosmic Rays.. Caseys has the hot cheese but nothing besides ketchup,mustard, onions and relish..

Sadly, the fries in the world are nothing to write home about. And they're pretty much the same ones all over. They used to have some really good ones at some places, but now, not so much. To me, they have a bit of a funny flavor and I think a hint of a coating on them. They're edible, but not really wonderful.

I'd be interested to hear if there is somewhere that doesn't serve the standard Disney fry.

The only place I had french fries last July was at Cosmic Ray's. They were good. Not "over-the-top" good, but they were good. I agree with a previous poster who said the topping bar there is great. We had burgers there too and they were delicious! It was the only burger I ate there the whole trip, and well worth it!

I wonder if the fries at TS locations are any better than CS locations. It will be interesting to see what others have to say!

Pretty much all the CS fries all the same. They're pretty good most of the time. I like them.

Some places (like Yorkshire County fish shop and Columbia Harbour House) have different ones. They're thick like steak fries. Also pretty good. :goodvibes:

I'm interested in this topic too. My experience with WDW fries has been horrible. To start with, everywhere I had them offered the same bad fries. I didn't understand this since they are one of the easiest things to make. How hard is it to find a tasty bag of frozen fries and deep fry them? I don't think I've ever had TS fries so maybe they are better. Maybe the Rose and Crown?

Yes, I've heard the Columbia Harbor House has really good steak fries, which I am planning to try next month. :teeth:

All the CS places are the same...you can *spice* them at the places with a topping bar. I love them with cheese sauce and fried onions. :)
The BEST fries that we have found in the world are at a TS place...The Plaza. They are thick cut steak fries..nice and hot, super crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside with the perfect amount of salt. :lovestruc
