Best time to eat in the village

Anyone got any idea what time is best to eat in the evening in the village at the end of august - ie before the big queue's start - with the the nippers with us i don't fancy standing too long for a seat.

We ate around 6pm, it didn't seem too busy at that time of the evening, apparently the Europeans tend to eat a little later. Certainly by the time we were leaving restaurants they were filling up rather quickly.

We ate in Rain forest Cafe last thursday at about 7.30 and got a table straight away, but I think by about 8-8.30 everywhere was filling up.
