I'm on the lookout for April 2010, too! Haven't booked anything yet though. Should I book room-only now to reserve the space? How does it work if I want to utilize an offer? :confused3 Will I need to cancel my room-only booking and re-book? Just wondering what the procedure is for people who have already made a booking but want to utilize an offer that comes out for their travel dates.

We took advantage of the 4/3 in January, but already had a room only booked. When we called to take advantage of the offer, the WDW agent booked our 4/3 package then cancelled the room only ressie (refunding the deposit to the credit card). It worked like a charm.

Currently booked at POR in March on a room only and waiting impatiently with the rest of you for a great deal. :goodvibes

Hmmm okay. If I understand correctly, they create a completely new booking, which would be based on availability? I would just be worried if I were to book room-only but then want to switch to X offer only to find the resort I want isn't available. Could this potentially happen? Thanks for the info!

I could happen, but that is why they book the new offer before cancelling the old room only. That way you don't lose your current room if there is no availability. :goodvibes

I am hoping for some great discounts. I am going to be very flexible on when we go as I am paying for 9 people. I am taking my 3 children, my dad, stepmom, little brother (10), sister, and her boyfriend.

My dad, stepmom, little brother and sister's boyfriend have never been on a plane or to WDW.

I am very excited but need a good deal because rack rates are going to kill my bank account. :lmao:

I'm hoping to go in April too!! Depends on what kind of deal I can get....:rolleyes1

I didn't pay much attention to codes last year, our trip in November was off-site.

Can someone explain the 4/3 code? Was it--pay for 4 nights, get 3 nights free? Is that the best code Disney offers? For non-dining plan lovers (like myself---too much food and too much sitting down for us) that would sound pretty good!!
Could you add the dining plan to that, or was it for rooms only??

thanks so much!

miprender
08-16-2009, 09:48 AM
Yes, the 4/3 deal was buy four nights and get 3 nights free, but you also had to buy the tickets which was also 4 day tickets, get 3 days free.
The dining plan was not included in this deal, but can be added. That is what we did.

For us we ended up saving almost $800 last April:cool1: We stayed 9 nights at the POFQ. So you can see we are hoping for another deal.

I am from Australia and am either going to book through the dreams unlimited travel agency or directly through disney website.

They are both offereing the same prices...Which would you book through?

If a code becomes available, can i have that added if i have used Dreams Unlimited travel or is it only good for the disney website?

thanks for your help

Ack! This Disney Visa 4/3 deal released today just killed my morning productivity! We have a trip booked for: 4/16/10-4/25/10. The Disney Visa 4/3 deal today is only for stays through 3/27. After all the number crunching, I've determined that it would not save us anything (cost us more, in fact) to switch from our April dates to March assuming that AP discounts are released for our april dates because DH and I currently have APs and March is more expensive than April. Now if they extend 4/3 through our travel dates - we can jump on it and it will be totally worth it.

Okay - my head is going to explode.....

Trying to decide between May and August.
It all depends on offers.
Would love to go in May if the 4/3 offer comes out.
Our 25th Anniversary is May 25.
As you can see our Ticker says AKL--It will be our
1st Deluxe Stay---Can't Wait!!:goodvibes

It is also our 25th anniv. on May 25th!! We have gone the last week of May the past 2 years but it is so hot so we are planning on going April 30th to May 7. This will be our first trip without the kids (who are 20 & 16). This will also be our first stay at a deluxe. Beach Club here we come!!! Congrats on your 25th.

We have gone in April the past few years and love it! My husband will ONLY go the last week in April (after spring break/Easter rush but before school gets out and Nice weather!) so no matter what, I'm going! But I'm waiting to book to see if there will be a deal and oh, I am hoping too with y'all!!!

We are also hoping for an April deal!! I am optimistic they will NOT have any black outs over Easter, due there not being any blackouts over MLK and Presidents week. We would like to arrive 4/09 or 4/10 and grab a 4/3 deal. This will probably be our last trip for a while due to some VERY big tuition bills for High School.

I am now teaching in New Hampshire which has its vacations one week later than when I was teaching in Massachusetts :woohoo: April vacation has always been too crowded for me to think of going but now it would be perfect :goodvibes I am planning on going from April 23rd to May 2nd. Think I will book French Quarter now hoping the 4/3 deal gets extended :wizard: If there are no deals for that time, I will re-book for All Stars Sports. Last year I booked our vacation in November before the 4/3 deal was extended to include our dates. I called Disney and they adjusted the price with no problem, even kept the same reservation number. So even if I book now, I know I can adjust the price when, not if, :thumbsup2 they extend the deal longer. I would love to see the Flower and Garden Festival :flower1:

I recieved a pin code in mhy email and it was for my grandmother...URGH! She traveled w/ us for a couple of trips but that was 3 years ago. I'm so frustrated. Just received an email from Disney with a PIN - 30% off value, 35% off moderate, and 40% off deluxe (percentage off the rack rates, I imagine).
Valid basically until June 12 (except a handful of specific dates).

Not sure whether to take advantage of this, or keep with my original plan of staying off-resort at Bonnet Creek...even with the discount, Bonnet Creek still works out cheaper than a Moderate.

Too many decisions! anyone else receive a similar offer?

We already had a Vacation Package through a TA booked, with DDP and tickets and resort and we just called our TA and she called Disney for us and had it applied to our resort. Disney than e-mailed us the new price for the package that's due.

I got this same pin, but half of our planned vacation days are not covered with the restricted dates. Soooo....after crunching the numbers, we are probably going to pass on Disney this year. Last year we got a great deal in Nolvember that we used for April 09'. If that happens again in November, it might change things. It does make a really great Christmas present for the family. OMG - I have 3 e-mails that I use w/ Disney that I've been saving April vacas on, ordering the vacation planner, and finally a few days ago ordered maps w/ one of the e-mails saying I was interested in April and today I got my PIN! It goes all the way from Jan to Dec 2010 w/ dates for discount rooms, no expiration date on the PIN. We are already going Dec 15-21 this year and I was worried, I was not going to get that PIN everyone is talking about for our April trip.

Last year, I got a PIN for April for kids stay and play free over Easter. It was DD last year to use it! I had free dining PIN for this Dec, but went w/ the room discount ($90/day for MOd resort) offered by a Disney code b/c it worked out cheaper for us since there is just two of us going. So, I already know this PIN is a good deal for us.

DD's April school vacation is the 3rd week in April and the PIN covers that, so we'll be all set. Yeah! I can't wait to book it!

Did you remember to register your AP on the AP holder website? Did you also remember to register it on the disneyworld.com website under "profile"? If you did, then great, you should be set. If not, you need to do this. I do this everytime I get a new pass (renewal) and I get all AP emails and pin offers. We got 4 pin offers just recently tied to being AP holders (both myself and DH) and Daughter and her family. I've been an AP holder since 1995 and I still have to register my AP every year because the number changes everytime I renew.

So I've been hoping for the 4/3 deal for the last week of April and what do I find out???? They've scheduled my Grandma's 90th birthday celebration in Vegas for 4/30 & 5/1. Oh man.... I don't want to miss it but I don't want to miss the ONE WEEK out of the year that me, my husband, and children can enjoy a vacation. It's very frustrating (I love having a big family, but it is a BIG obligation). So I got a pin code via email but wanted the 4/3 deal because it would be a *little* better (but not much, only $100 or $200). So duh, my pin code does not stipulate 7 nights so, I've got a courtesy hold for a 5 night stay instead. We'd fly back home on Thursday and I could fly to Vegas on Friday. I've got 7 days to put my deposit down but I did get 40% off a 1 bedroom villa which is what I wanted. So why am I still agonizing???? I guess I just want more nights at Disney :rotfl:

I hear you both. I started out going to CSR for ten nights for our Easter trip, now I have downgraded to Pop, and like maxiesmom, I going to pay $140-145 a night for a standard room. Dh is taking a paycut, so I may just have to cancel if something doesn't come out in the way of a deal. Right now, I can't even get a AAA discount. And buffets are at holiday pricing and even doing the quick serve thing is going to cost us almost $1300 for a family of four to eat cs for nine days.

I noticed Disney released their 4th quarter earnings statement and they mentioned park attendance is up, but profit is down because of the promotions. So I wonder if they'll be extending the 4/3 and 5/2 deals. Maybe they won't figuring that bringing all those people in doens't benefit them that much? I am just sick of the waiting game.

I love going so much, and yet the effort of waiting for the pricing, switching over when it comes out, making ADR's months in advance can really make me wonder sometimes!

So for the first time I called to see if I had a pin associated with my name and lo and behold!! I had 3! Count 'em 3!!! One for right now til Christmas- one for Jan-March and the one I actually need which is 30% off any value stays (35 for mods and 40 for delux, which we never do) BUT the date runs from April 11th- May something... our trip starts on the 10th. So I emailed the DreamsUnlimited travel agent we have worked with on all 3 of our trips to ask her opinion on a split stay- book just the one night at full price and then start the package stay for the remaining 6 nights.

Her thought was that is is a huge hassle, but I am not giving up even one day of vacay to get that deal. I WILL check-in, check-out and do it allover again for that savings. I will hold out for a couple more weeks for a different deal (come on 4/3!!), but ultimately will go for the pin code and split stay scenario if need be.

We have never held the kids out of school for a vacation so that is why the trip has to run Saturday to Sunday. Wish my conscience would let me add that extra day til Monday! Could really use the breathing room in my touring plans! lol

Last year, it was beginning of November that they released the 4/3 deal for April and I was hoping that would happen this year. Well, I haven't seen anything or heard any other rumors. Anyone else hear anything at all about the possibility of Disney extending the 4/3 deal for the month we are all looking at??

disneybound31
11-16-2009, 08:22 PM
So you just called CRO and asked if a PIN code was attached to your record?

Yep. Call 407-wdisney. They told me the dates the pins were good for and then read off the pin number (looooong) so I could email it to my travel agent to have applied to my reservation.

Worked like a charm except our trip begins on the 10th of April and the code begins on the 11th of April. So unless I move the trip up a day I cannot have the pin applied. Hence, the reason for possible doing a split stay (check in on 10th (paying rack rate)-checkout next day and check in all over again on the 11th to get the savings).

Have not decided yet if I want to go that route or wait and see on the 4/3 deal coming out. Come on 4/3!!!!

No I haven't, trying to get on the special list.

I am a DVC and AP owner, so I am thinking that Disney must know they are going to get my money one way or another.

I just adjusted our DVC April 2010 vacation to free up some points for the February weekend I was waiting on the AP rates for. Take away from one to give to the other I guess....

Yes, I got one a few weeks after I started to explore my options on "My Disney Vacation" and have saved a few vacation packages. The pin saved me just a little over $480 for 7 nights at PO Riverside.

I did this a few weeks ago and got a pin! But I must say goodbye to this thread. We decided NOT to go to Disney in April :( BUT I am going to Disney for a week in March for a conference (at the Swan & Dolphin) and every evening I will be at a park and I'll be there on the weekend too so :cheer2:
And because of this pin code, my family has decided to go in the summer instead and this will include my mom and some of my siblings and their families. Summer weather at WDW is not as nice as April, but I get to use the pin and my extended family will come!

Good luck with the wait!

So I booked us an 8 night stay in the Garden Wing of the Contempary with my 40% off pin I received by email. It saved me $1400! :cool1: I am so happy and contemplating upgrading to the Magic View Tower room for $600 more. What would you all do? Save the money or spend the savings?

If you had already budgeted and were comfortable with a higher cost, I'd spend that savings! You are still saving $800 over your original reservation. And a MK Tower room for me is the whole reason to stay at the CR. I don't think I could stay there and not have that view!

Or you could take that $600 and do some wonderful things at WDW you've always wanted to do (one of the tours, fireworks cruise, Victoria and Alberts, that sort of thing).

The possiblities are endless.;)

Right now it looks like all the pins start for stays after April 5th. I am so frustrated, I have done everything everyone suggests but if they don't even have a pin or discount for my dates (3/26-4/5), it won't matter if I do get a pin code, it won't be good for my dates anyway.

I am with you right back! I just looked on Mousesavers and from what I can tell, it was 12/20/08 when they expanded the 4/3 deal to cover more dates last year and then again in March (but not sure what specific dates were covered, I am betting Easter was covered under that March expansion). So maybe sometime soon they will do that this year too. I have never sweated this hard for a discount but then again, we used to be DVC members and if I had cash nights it was generally just on the weekends and I could get an AP rate. This is just crazy. If I have to do this every trip from here on out, I may need to get a xanax prescription to get me through the booking process!

I just had my reservation modified to add the 30% pin code attached to my name- but if Disney releases a stay 4 get 3 deal would that be a better deal for me? We are staying 7 nights at ASmusic from 4/11-18. I did have to book an additional 2 nights at rack rate for the 9th and 10th as I really did not want to cut our trip back so far and also found really good airfare rates...so we are flying for the first time for the same cost to drive 11 hours! woohoo

Pin Code... I just recieved a pin code by email. Does anyone know if I can use it to book a hotel for my parents? They will be traveling with us, and I didn't know if I had to stay in the room that I book using the pin.
This trip is for my wedding, and I am planning to use my Annual Pass discount for my room. Since I will get that when I get down there, I would like to try to help my parents out and save them money if I can.

Any details would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks,

In my experience in order to use the pin, the person listed on the pin code must be a guest in the room. Sorry!

Does your hubby to be have an AP too? Then he could book the AP code, and you could book the pin. You would have to be listed on different rooms, one with each of your parents though.

I got a pin code 20/30/40% off after ordering the Vacation Planner CD for my end of April trip. But, since we are doing Values, it was a better deal to book the $300 gift card deal that came out on the 21st. We weren't really planning on going in April...we were going to go on a trip to aruba, just hubby and I. But with the code that came out yesterday, back to WDW we go (I'm not complaining) Staying at BWV 1 BR...saved 45%!!! HUGE....notice we are getting a 1br, stayed deluxe conceirge there in October, it was great w/the extra room in deluxe..but this way, we have our own room.

I'm also taking a slower trip and not planning on going to the parks everyday, I plan on using Kitchen for afew meals (breakfast and lunch) maybe one dinner that I love to cook...very simple. I want to spend more time at the resort. And gasp...we probably will go to universal one day! They actually have some great ticket deals right now, too.

It bothered me for a long time that no discounts so far have been offered for the week of Easter, then I decided not to worry about it, we are going either way...

It will be me, my oldest dd, her husband, their son (my grandson), and another grandson(he belongs to my middle daughter but she is not going with us)...

We have the quick service dinning plan, but we are going to do lunch at RainForest Cafe DTD and dinner at T-Rex DTD, I made reservations for those two yesterday...

I started yesterday making a packing list of things we are gonna need, things I need to start picking up while I am out n about shopping, so that it doesn't have to be done all at once...

Trust me I WOULD LOVE some sort of discount, but as of right now doesn't look like its gonna happen...

Can ya tell I am beginning to get a lil excited, LOL...I haven't been since 2004, my son n law and his son have never been, other grandson has been and my daughter has been...so we are gonna have first timers with us, and my grandson who has been, his Dad leaves a week from today for Iraq, so trying to keep him busy and mind off Dad...

OH, I even got a pin the other day, I said I am not even looking at it, I know Easter is blocked, my husband said YOU BEtTTER read it, so I did, sure enough I was right...

Let me know if you luck up and get something...

Have a wonderful trip - I have to start thinking like you . We are going no matter what but a better price would make it that much sweeter. I have dreamed for eyars of getting one of those illusive pins. I have never gotten one. We really want to go back at x-mas 2010 so a pin would be great for that purpose. We can afford one rack rate trip a year but for sure not two. If we want to go at x-mas we need a deal.

My spring break is Easter week, so that is when I have to go. This is a celebration for my younger daughter's 16th birthday. At the moment, I'm going to have to settle for AsMu. If some decent code would come out, I could upgrade to a mod. I'm still secretly hoping to pick up points to rent, but I know that is highly doubtful for Easter week. Oh well, AsMu is our favorite value, and value Disney is better than no Disney any day! ;)

I am still undecided about dropping the dining. I like having it all included as well. I'd like to drop it because I had lapband surgery and can only eat a few bites so it's not worth it for me, but on the other hand my Princess enjoys the character meals, we have 3 planned, including Cindy's. Paying oop for those, snacks, 1 ts...I think we would fare better keeping the dining plan. I don't know:confused3...Still need to run numbers and make a final decision! :)

I just went on the Disney website & under special offers they are offering the 25%, 35% & 40% offers for certain dates but if you are NOT going during Easter weeks you can get the discount. You DO NOT need a PIN code. I already had booked at Beach Club for April 30th & I just called & instead of the $750.00 gift card I got 40% off & saved $1,246.56 off my total. I thought you needed a PIN code for the discount off the rooms but you do not.

We're also going during Easter. I'm an AP holder and called to ask them to check to see if the general public discount code or the AP code would work for our trip (4/1 through 4/10) and was told the codes stop at 3/27 and open up again on 4/11. Bummer. But, if lots of us are going no matter what, they really don't need to offer additional incentive. We'll still go and have a great time.

I had booked mine back in April. This week, the travel agent e-mailed and said
we could move from garden view to garden view CL for 6.75 per night - Obviously,

Last I knew it was $489. Values during spring break are $58 cheaper per night, that differnce added to ticket cost makes it worthwhile to become a passholder. Savings are even more with other resorts...
