Got Teacher rate for 2003 at Dolphin

I have been trying to get a teacher rate at Dolphin for a while now. I kept being told that it wasn't out yet. Anyway, I was finally able to book it. Unfortunately, the discounts don't start til March 12, 2003. I needed to book for March 6-15. I went ahead and booked the first part of the trip at the non-discounted rate. Do you think there is a chance that they may extend the dates to include a little earlier? I can't afford to stay here at the non discounted rates (no AAA or Disney Card discounts either).
Thanks for any thoughts on this that you may have.

You might want to ask this question at the "Swan/Dolphin" thread headed by Glo.
I've stayed there and gotton the discount in February, it usually seems like that the discount availability is pretty wide open early in the release period.

I certainly think that's a distinct possibility.

The hotels offer the discount rates when there are fewer than 80% of the rooms booked.So,it would seem, they are expecting a crowd prior to Mar 12, which tells me conference.
Often, large groups hold blocks of rooms for the conference attendees, and, as the time gets closer, they find they have overbooked and release rooms.
The SD release rooms back into the system on Fridays, so, as your dates get closer, start checking on Fridays. With the toll free number, it's a lot easier to call frequently.
Maybe late Nov/December to start checking?

I really do think so. Even if your dates aren't listed at first, so very many dates are added as time goes by, that I don't think you'll have any problem, as long as you're willing to accept wither the Swan or the Dolphin. Frequently, when discount rates aren't available at one,they are at the other.

How did you get the teacher rate for 2003??? Did you use dreams unlimited or call the dolphin \swan directly. I need to book for march 2003 but i don't know who offers the teacher discount this early. Thanks

I called 1-800-227-1500, which I think is directly to the Swan/Dolphin but I'm not sure. I called today to double check some info, and was again told that the teacher rate was available from March 12 and on, but not before. I hope those dates work out better for you than they did me. Good luck!
