I began researching Mickey/Minnie themed birthday invitations about two months ago on eBay and google images (because I never knew this thread existed!!!). I found this one on eBay and fell in love:

I thought to myself that this would be quite easy to make so off I went on my adventure in invite making! I began by creating a perfect Mickey head, between 5 and 6 inches. I think I used a bowl as the face and a mug for the ears, taped my three circles together and then traced the head on to black cardstock. I had ten pieces of black cardstock on hand so I made 10, then I went out and bought 10 more pages and completed my 20 Mickey Heads.

My next step was finding the perfect wording for the invites. Once that was complete I printed out the invites on to full sheet sticker paper. The invite info circle is the same size as a CD. So I printed them out, traced a CD, cut them out, and stuck 'em on.

Next up was the bow. I punched two holes in one ear and fed a 10-12" piece of ribbon through. I folded the ribbon under itself and attached it with a sticky dot. Once the bow was complete I added the button to the center.

And the final invite looks like this:

Again, I scoured eBay and google for the perfect 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper to use for the envelope. I found this paper on eBay and quickly ordered 20 sheets.

To fold I simply did this:
Step 1: Bring one corner in

Step 2: Bring the opposite corner in

Step 3: Bring the "bottom" up & insert the invite

Step 4: Fold down the top and seal it with tape. Flip it over and adhere address and shipping labels

Just an FYI - the post office will not accept the envelopes the way they are, I am going to have to stuff them in manila envelopes and pay double postage... Grrr! :sad2:
