Jennifer and Luke's Planning Journal and Trip report
June 6, 2010
hi, my name is Jennifer and I have been reading so many amazing wedding and honeymoon planning journals and I got inspired. We are not getting married at Disney world but we are honeymooning there and having some Disney touches to our beach themed wedding. I could really use tips and advice for planning. I never thought I would be as into the wedding plans as I am, so maybe this will help my mind from running a million miles a minute. most people are sick of hearing about it. I am the first of all my friends to get engaged.
Our Story and such:
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs194.snc1/6529_524550130442_27100328_31307566_6188079_n.jpg
We met when i studied abroad in England and hit it off immediately. We started dating April 27, 2006 and then I returned to America in July.
The engagement:
Luke came with his mom to New York to meet my family and spend sometime with me. It was an amazing and fun filled week but way too short for my taste. On January 12th 2007, I went to meet Luke at his hotel in the city and he said that he really wanted to go up to the empire state building (being a new yorker...i'm sick of stuff like that) but I went up. Afterward Luke asks me how to get to Hoboken, NJ. Totally confused I told him I had no idea. He figured it out and after a little while of frustration we made it to Frank Sinatra Dr, out on a pier. The lights of the city were shining and while it was cold it was absolutely beautiful. Luke started telling me all the things he wanted to do with me for the rest of his life, after around 10 mins, he pulled out a box and asked me to marry him. Of course i said yes, after many tears.
We have had a lot of distance and a lot of growing up, but we are still madly in love and so happy! After what seems like forever we have a wedding date! June 6, 2010 on Long Island, NY and we will be honeymooning in Disney World!
We haven't booked yet because we are waiting for the 2010 prices to come out. I am extremely open to all suggestion and tips. We have been to Disney before together (December 2008) so I want this trip to be completely different. so while I will be posting everything that's happening with the wedding I also would love your suggestions, anything and everything romantic we can do.
Also we have yet to decide on resort. We have been looking and settled on 3. Polynesian, Animal Kingdom and Wilderness. Depending on the day I want a different resort haha. If you have stayed at any of these please give me your experiences and what you think might be best.
I look forward to sharing with all of you and getting to know you<3

Very cute story I can't wait to hear about your plans:) I plan on honeymooning in Disney as well. I have only stayed at the Movies Resort, but I am really leaning on the Animal Kingdom lodge. You mentioned you wanted to maybe stay at multiple resorts, I have heard of people doing that but I still have no idea on how you would go about something like that :confused3, its sounds like fun though :thumbsup2

I feel like a nerd asking this but. Would you say that these have a romantic feel? One more than the other? I know neither are your typical romantic resort but we are not typical anyway haha. Also what is your feelings on how far away Animal Kingdom is? I was totally sold until I really thought about the distance, then I wasn't sure. Also what area did you stay in for Animal Kingdom? By what animals? Same with Wilderness what area?

so I made a counter (what a good worker I am!) and I nearly had a heart attack. This summer seems to have gone so fast and I hadn't looked at the days in a while. I'm totally down to 10 months. thats scary

Animal Kingdom was definitely romantic. We were actually staying at POP and spend one night in a studio at the Animal Kingdom Villas, Jambo House. We arrived mid-afternoon and checked in. After checking out the view from our room we went down and had drinks at the pool. A bit later we headed back to the room to get ready for a romatic dinner at Jiko. We ended up having drinks after dinner at Victoria Falls. It was super romantic and we both fell in love with the resort.
It's a bit far, but it depends if you rent a car or not. We do so it's not too bad as far as I am concerned. I think it might be a bit far by bus.
Hope that helped...sorry I am a rambler!!

I'm glad you have such good things to say about Animal Kingdom. We will not be renting a car, I am underage and Luke is English and doesn't have an USA license. So I was afraid it would be too far out, even though I love it. its my only negative that i've seen so far. Polynesian is a bit pricey and looked a little older in comparison but i've never been there so i wouldn't know. So that let animal and wilderness. sometimes I hate making decisions :sad2:

Okay let me start by putting some things that are decided now. I have a lot of ideas but I am not positive on a lot. I didn't really know how terrible at decision making I was until I started this whole process. I get really nervous to choose something because I don't want to decide I hate it later. Well we will see won't we!
okay so these are my colors

Men's tuxes are going to be navy and brides maids are going to be the yellow. and light blue because....there are no navy flowers so yea. Nothing is picked out yet. wedding party is extremely hard to figure out because my DF is from England and a lot of his friends can't make it.
We do have a location. I always dreamed of a wedding on the beach but after much searching it didn't seem likely. No place had the right price or look we wanted. So we ended up with a garden on the lake instead. We are getting married at a place called the Swan Club on Long Island, NY.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/Wedding%20board/IMG_0039.jpg
this is where the ceremony will be. This is actually looking from where we'd be standing. There are actually huge doors that open up onto a patio and our arch will be outside while my guest are right on the edge. So I made everyone happy! I got my outside and they can't whine. (more pictures next time I go back)

this is where the cocktail hour is, this is actually a picture from inside the reception room.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/Wedding%20board/IMG_0046.jpg
this is a walkway through the garden. I didn't want to give too many pictures but i think you get the idea. there are 3 (small) lake that the property is on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/Wedding%20board/IMG_0035.jpg
and this is the reception room. they don't really have it decorated very nicely but i will! there is a huge will overlooking the property where we will be seated and also a huge bar that has a very old English feel.
okay well that's Jenn babbling for a while. Tell me what you think. More to come i'm sure. totally bored today

So I'm at work and so like any good employee i'm posting on my journal instead of doing the work in front of me.
I don't have any major updates, tonight I might post pictures of some ideas for opinions.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/Wedding%20board/untitled2-1-1.jpg
This is my STD card. We really weren't planning on having STD but because some of our guest are in the UK and some are poor college students we decided we should give people heads up to get tickets. I have totally procrastinated about these though and they are sitting in my apartment, yay weekend project. my DF will not decide on the guest list he is driving me up a wall.
Anyone else have family coming from super far away and its an issue?
So here is a little vent that has been in my head since we started talking about the wedding:
What is everyone opinion on bridal party. We haven't definitely decided on anything and I have only asked one person, my MOH.
so here is the deal. my DF is from England so....he doesn't know who will be able to make it and he hasn't know his friends here for long so he doesn't want them. :headache: so now i'm in the spot do I offer my friends? do I keep it uneven? I know I want my brother and my DF agreed. So chances are one person will come :confused3 and hopefully be his BM. On my side I have a friend who I have know for YEARS and my MOH has already hinted that she will feel left out. We aren't extremely close anymore but I've known her for so long that I feel I need to. Also I was in my Sister-in-law's party so I also feel she should be in mine. I'm not very good at this clearly.
so we have one MOH and one groomsman.
opinions? Please?

Oh your location is beautiful! i love the windy paths by the gardens and the water! Nice choice!!
I'm probably not the right person to ask but I'm not big into bridal parties. We are only having a MoH and BM. My df is thinking of asking his brother as well but I won't be asking someone else just to even up the sides. I say ask who you want and he should do the same. I have seen some really cute pics where the sides are "uneven". I don't think it's a big deal. I think the important part is to have who you really want standing up for you...even if that means the sides are uneven!

thanks! that helps. I have been back and forth and my mom is being "neutral". I just need to ask my girls if i'm going to because I am flying home for dress shopping in December and I don't want to be like btw you have to buy a dress.
I choose the location because of the gardens and water. there was another place that I was leaning towards more but the places for pictures was extremely limited so thats why I went with this one.

Congrats! Your ring is gorgeous!
I like your color choices as well, they will look beautiful.
We were in between BWV and AKV for our honeymoon and it was a hard choice, but we ended up renting points for BWV just because it was more centrally located and the points values are pretty close. You may want to check out renting DVC points, we saved a lot of money doing this since we weren't even playing on staying in a Deluxe resort.
I'm not much help on the bridal party front, we had a MOH and best man, but to put a long story short, they flaked and we are not having a bridal party at all now. Well my mom and DFi's dad are going to be our bridal party, but they are not going to stand or anything. I don't think it matters if it is even or not and you should choose who you want, not who you think you should. And always remember, the smaller the bridal party the less money it is and the less likely you are to have issues.

Thanks! I don't know that much about the DVC, can you explain how it work? just like briefly. We are doing the Disney registry so I wasn't thinking of doing it a different way. We don't want presents so we wanted people to help us pay for our honeymoon instead. (money is extremely tight) were you happy with the BWV? its top selling point is location. I like the AKV because of the animals (obv) balcony and the pool looks nicer. and it seemed more romantic. But I have been to neither so I only know from pictures. This is probably the only time we will ever stay at a deluxe so I want our choice to be good. How was the restaurants there?

I know how you feel about the whole bridal party thing, I currently have people in my party that would have felt left out if I didn't add them and my DF had more groomsmen on his side so in order to make the sides even I bit the bullet and allowed people to be in my party that I basically didn't want. I kinda regret this now because as the planning process begins to increase I know those people won't really be there for me and all they wanted was the title. If I could do it over again I would definitely just have who I really wanted even if the sides are uneven b/c in the end it's you and your DF's day and it should be the way you want it to be.

We are also renting points for part of our honeymoon. We are staying in a Studio at the Boardwalk with a Boardwalk view for only $800 for 5 nights. We are using our free night for our last night (Poly).
DVC is a timeshare based on points. Each room cost $x per night depending on time of year, resort and size of room. Then owners will rent out their points if they aren't using them. My points were $12 per point (a bit high). So we get to stay at a fab resort for a much lower price!! BWV is my favorite resort!

thanks. At least i'm not alone in not knowing who to ask. I am afraid that the old friend won't really be there, she just wanted to hang with my MOH (who she considers HER best friend! why are girls so weird?) but since I started making plans for the wedding, my sister-in-law has been defending me and trying to be super helpful. Even talking about it with my mom and her mom when I wasn't even around. Which for her is extremely abnormal. she was the most annoying bride ever, and was weird when we got engaged. So it makes me feel better when considering her because she is caring about it without me asking. (and sort of offered herself saying she would be the best bridesmaid ever) i'm gonna stop babbling now. ;)

LOL, what your talking about really reminds me of the stuff that I went through in high school, girls can be so clickish sometimes. Thank goodness it wasn't that way in college. :lmao: Anywho if the only reason your MOH's friend wants to be in your party is so that she can hang out with your MOH then you should definitely think about it before you put her in your party, because when your potential bridesmaid comes along with you and your MOH for dress fittings and such you don't want to feel like the third wheel especially when they are suppose to be there for you.

Well yes if you want to BUY into DVC...memberships start close to $15,000.
What we are talking about is "renting" from someone who already owns. I found my renter right here on the boards. He made a reservation for me, I signed a contract and then paid him. A room that normally goes for almost $400 a night cost me less than half that!! Our discounted rooms through Disney were $190 just for Port Orleans so this was a great deal for us!

thats exactly how I have been feeling! See we use to all be like the 3 musketeers? but....they were the ones who always got the attention, which when we were kids upset me. Now whatever I don't care. But it kind of always goes back to that. I don't want to feel left out when its my wedding. DRAMA I am the first to get married so its like a huge deal for everyone, no one knows what to do. Its always been known that my MOH was my MOH before I was even engaged. We have been through too much and even she knew it, I didn't really have to ask. She was just like so what am I wearing?
If she wasn't in the wedding it would be even haha

I was apart of one of those 3 musketeer groups myself we all used to have so much fun together as kids, but every once and a while someone would say something about another person and then two people would gang up on one person or two people would go hang out together and wouldn't tell the other person. It was just so dizzling that I got fed up and left the group my sophmore year. I was so sick of the drama. I never heard a word from them until they found out I was getting married on facebook and now all the sudden they want to know when their invitations are coming in the mail. :rotfl2:

I was apart of one of those 3 musketeer groups myself we all used to have so much fun together as kids, but every once and a while someone would say something about another person and then two people would gang up on one person or two people would go hang out together and wouldn't tell the other person. It was just so dizzling that I got fed up and left the group my sophmore year. I was so sick of the drama. I never heard a word from them until they found out I was getting married on facebook and now all the sudden they want to know when their invitations are coming in the mail. :rotfl2:
so typical. girls suck! lets pray for a drama free wedding party :wizard:

As far as picking your bridal party goes - think of who you won't regret having chosen for the biggest day of your life in 20 years. :lmao: That's how my DF and I narrowed it down quickly. Absolutely no friends in our bridal party. It's no disrespect to them, but sometimes you have falling outs with friends, etc. I don't really want people in these photos where I'm someday questioning why we picked them. Lol. I personally thought it much safer to go with his and my own siblings and their spouses. :thumbsup2
And I, like Mandy, am renting DVC points for a BWV studio for mine and DF's honeymoon. We're staying for 5 nights also, and are doing so for $780! It's something like a third of the price. I've never been to WDW so it's all new to me, but I don't know that you could go wrong with any of the deluxe hotels. It's all about your preference. I liked the theming of BWV (and so did DF) so we decided upon that. For us it seemed romantic. So if you guys like the look of AKV better, then go for it!
I definitely recommend going to the DVC renting portion of the boards and requesting a reservation. Once you make that thread, you'll probably have all kinds of people interested in helping you out. If you don't want to do that, just look for renters posting their point availability. I know it sounds complicated, but it's not once you get the gist. ;)

Are you guys ever worried about posting wedding dresses because your DF might see it? I don't know why but thats in my head
okay so I should probably start by saying that the "theme" of my wedding is beachy. while it is not at a beach, I'm still really into it. (there is still water!) so thats why the color choices. so seashells, sea glass, sand. is what a lot of my stuff is going to be. I have decided on the center pieces. pretty much the only thing I have decided on. So let me put these up. my DF being the weirdo he is said he couldn't imagine what I wanted by just telling him so I had to draw it. I don't want flowers, i'm not huge on them and they are costly SO.

Our honeymoon is in January so I will get back to you on how we liked it :goodvibes There are lots of restaurants around the area (Flying Fish, ESPN, Beaches and Cream, to name a few.) And there will still be plenty to cover if you are doing the Disney Registry. You just have to do what works for you. The process was pretty smooth with renting points and it saves so much, we paid $800 for 6 nights Boardwalk view (but we are going in value season too) Points will range, we paid about 9.40/point. If you have any questions just let us know.
The centerpieces are adorable. A Little Mermaid theme would be cute.
I did find a Ariel and Eric cake topper (like your avatar), but it's pricey.

Our discounted rooms through Disney were $190 just for Port Orleans so this was a great deal for us!
hey I was wondering.....do you know if you book a vacation with DVC points can you still use the Disney Registry? or does that not count? :confused3

hmmm..ya know my original cake was with shells, it was what I always thought I wanted...and then I kept searching and really like the flower cakes. The idea was that the bought is like floating in a sea of flowers? Maybe I need to rethink this. I just thought the seashells would be too much. I don't know. this is why it is bad for me to ever say, I have decided on something.
DF says he likes both. the seashells look like they are on the water and the seashells are under the sea? Are we too literal? haha
http://www.discountsugarflowers.com/images/shell_pic_use_this_one250.jpg
These are the shells I found from the site I was going to by the flowers from. but they are pure white
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/seashell.jpg
and the cake with topper.
the issues I think I have is there isn't any yellow? and the colored shells I have found are usually tans so that doesn't work either.
Am I over doing the beach theme? I was afraid to over do it because there isn't actually a beach just water?
What is everyone else opinions?
DF just said he wants to go to Disney right now. This is what happens to us when we book trips to disney.
P.S. Disney Registry website is angering me.

Dress alert! yayayayay
So I thought I should post a couple of things on here today. I had a momentary freak out for no apparent reason. Thankfully my mom is awesome so I feel much better. Bought the cake topper today
So I have bought my dress!!! yeah!!! I tried on more dresses then I think possible. The first place I tried on like 30+ and I was so convinced that I found the one. I love vintage and I really don't like bling. So I was having so much trouble finding something that I imagined. I picked a dress from Maggie that was lace but it was sold lace with no beading and when I looked at it again it was so boring. so the last time I went to Long Island I went to a shop and tried on another 20+. Narrowing it down to 3. Looking around the shop just to make sure I had seen everything I noticed a dress shoved all the way in the back of a rack (I had to go into all the dresses to see it) It was totally different then any of the others I had seen before. Being the type of person I am, not able to make a decision, I slept on it for a week and then went back and tried on 2 of the dresses and eliminated the other one immediately and decided on this one.
Sorry took down dress....df has been poking around too much, don't want him to see
:lovestruc
I'm altering it so that the lace hangs past the white and the train doesn't have the white under it either
I have ordered more of the same lace and i'm adding cap sleeves to it.
There are jewels at the top of the dress that go down the back to the end of the corset, hard to see in picture
Jewelry i'm not completely set on still looking around. My mom got me a set of pearls for my 21 birthday. I mention that i might wear them and my mom was very excited so that sort of decided that. So I am looking for a fancy pearl bracelet, something like this (maybe less expensive)
http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_430xN.84046943.jpg
and earrings with pearls and diamonds but I haven't found any yet. I want them a little fancy like the bracelet because the necklace with be simple.

The dress is gorgeous. I'm not a huge fan of lace, but I really like the dress, the back especially. The pearls will look great with it!
That's a great idea for the fans, very clever making them look like clams, too cute.
Not sure about the cake, I like both the flowers and the shells. Although, the shells may go with your theme better since it seems like you are going with the total beach theme. :confused3

It doesn't matter whether everyone loves what you do, or if no one besides you does. It's still your day! ;)

I really really think this looks amazing! Of course, mine was simply a suggestion! If you're not in love with it, then go with what you do love! That's the beauty of it being YOUR wedding. It doesn't matter whether everyone loves what you do, or if no one besides you does. It's still your day! ;)
Congrats on your gown!! It's beautiful, and quite different! The fans you made for your programs are very cute too. You girls here on the boards make me realize I need to learn to be more crafty! :lmao:
Thanks hun. I am very happy with my dress.
I know your cake idea was a suggestion, I need to decide what I want. My fear is that everyone will be over powered by shells hahaha. I don't want that. I bought the topper so at least that is out of the way and the cake can wait for a little while

Morning Ladies!
So I don't have that much to report. I worked on trying to make my own invites last night (no decorations just sizes and stuff) DF liked them but I'm trying to see the cheapest way I can have invitations in my colors. Paper seems very expensive. so we will see. I will most the example later.
I am looking at earring and jewelry as well. Open for suggestions.
I need help finding jewelry thats not too expensive but I like. HELP HELP! Thanks
As far as hair goes I want my hair half up and I think I want fresh flowers. Maybe some pearls or little diamond clips. I'm not sure. Also, I never wanted a veil or a tiara but I have been looking and now i'm not sure. Opinions? What is best for the dress?
Will post more in a bit

If you haven't found out already, a lot of us disbrides like the website etsy.com. LOVE their jewelry!!!
Also did you check out cardsandpockets.com? I bought the materials for my invites for under $2 each. They have a ton of colors too!!

I love etsy BUT there jewelry that I seem to like can be rather expensive. I posted some i liked from esty with my dress post. So I was just trying to find something in the middle. not cheap looking but not pricey. I will look at that site again, I only glanced at it last time

hello, So I wanted to get some opinions on bouquets. My original idea was to have a yellow bouquet with small blue flowers scattered through it and then the brides maids have blue with yellow scattered. So I would like to get your opinion. Now i'm thinking what about white with yellow? Which do you prefer brides with white flowers or without? I really dont want to be too "traditional" I don't want roses and I don't think I want Calla lilies or at least not a lot of them.
So here the all yellow idea with maybe small little blue flowers
http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0027305/large_image.jpg
This is the one I originally wanted but obviously the pale yellow version of these flowers.
http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0046885/large_image.jpg
This as well but with the yellow again (seems like not a lot of people use the yellow version of these flowers...)
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/125/336061411_7a1a7aa13e.jpg?v=0
or very yellow

mostly white?
http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0033833/large_image.jpg
something like this? Without the dark blue more of the white/yellow flowers?
whatever mine was I was thinking something simple like the blue hydrangeas for the girls

I think the second bouquet would be gorgeous with the yellow version of that flower! :goodvibes I personally would think some white would look best to mix it up, but I'm just not a big fan of solid singular color bouquets. :confused3
Yellow bouquets are hard to find though! I googled it to see what I could find (by now you've noticed I simply can't resist, but I mean well! :flower3:).

Not too big of a post but just a little updates I didn't say last night. My boss said I can use her fancy printer to print ALL my invites, envelopes AND the labels for my favors.
Didn't mention this before but my favors are going to be a cd with the songs that built our relationship. Me and DF have had an insane journey of a relationship. Through all of our distance I use to make DF mixed tapes, expressing how I felt at the time ect. SO, the cd will start off with us first knowing each other, (songs about i don't know why I like you so much) into distance, my moving to Chicago, my moving to London and then having to leave early into present and being inlove and life working out against all odds. I don't have a list of the songs at this moment but I will probably soon. ALso there will be a booklet with a cd case with a cartoonish version and I'm back and forth if I will include the day we met mini comic I made (posted earlier) what do we think?
SO anyway back to my boss. I want to print stickers for the fronts. I was originally going to just have like silly disney stickers but now I have a color printer to use! Which means I can have color invites as well! :woohoo:
I LOVE saving money!
Found these FG dresses. SO thought i'd post them.

I did some research for you and I found this out (for cake topper purposes):
The smallest size of the white chocolate castle topper fits ontop of the Escape size cake. It is 3lbs and a 6 inch diameter. It fits the cake like exactly. Here is a link to a picture, I think it is the third cake down:

well the lbs are fine! size hurts haha. They said they could make my cake whatever size I need it if its that important. LBS is the issue. So they recommend that I buy or make a cake to try it out. (DF will be happy with that. He will eat the whole thing! My diet will make me run away from it :( )
I guess we will have to see. My biggest fear is that it will be too overwhelming ya know?

The cake topper is adorable, I hope it works out with it.
I really like the bouquet that Anj suggested. You could always switch out some of the white roses for yellow ones, that would be pretty, in case you can't find small yellow flowers, but you florist should have some insight.
The flower girl dresses are cute. I considered the blue one for my girls, but DFi didn't care for it.

Good morning!
so....I again don't have that much to report! But I do have a little. DF loved the cake topper, though his reaction was the same as mine. "wow thats big" but we are thinking of using some of the flowers on the base to make it seem less big! hahah. I still need to have a meeting with the baker. So unfortunately I won't have too much to update until end of September. My mom is coming to visit! I never see her because we live very far away from each other. She isn't very good at computers AND she has no internet at home. So showing her stuff....doesn't REALLY work. So she is coming out, just for fun and there will probably be wedding talk. (which is going to drive DF crazy) We will be going dress shopping for her and stuff like that. Hopefully deciding on invitations and all that jazz.
I finished the cover for our favors! DF saved it and sent it to me.....but he saved it wrong and it looks choppy. the actual file isn't this choppy! but this is what i have right now .will switch it when I get home

Good Morning
So I am letting my BM pick there own dresses (thats the plan might change) but I decided to look at some myself! Anyone know a good brand for BM dresses? I don't really know who to look for. I stumbled on Jasmine's bm dress so these are the ones i'm gonna show! The color is pale yellow, I am back and forth on how I want to show the difference between MOH. either get a dress that has a sash and have the other girls sash match there color of the dress and MOH with a blue? or different flowers? Suggestions? I don't want her flowers to be the same as mine.

I totally want to make more desicions but I don't have much to decide right now! BOOOO. my mom doesn't come til the end of September and I don't fly back to ny til Christmas! I hate waiting..So to take up my time I just keep researching WL and driving DF crazy with it. :rolleyes1
I am on the search for a unquie Unity sand ceremony kit. All I can seem to find is the same 7 and I don't like any of them! either does DF! so we were looking for vases that could work as well.
me and the DJ keep playing phone tag. it is driving me CRAZY.
I ordered the stickers to put on our CD's for the gifts. Then I can design the sticker for the front. Not sure what i'm gonna do yet. Either something with a sand castle, or Eric's castle...or seashells! I don't know I will make a few and see what you guys think!
I also bought a cinderella castle hole punch on the Disney store! hehe I couldn't resist!
I am going to think about how I want my hair...maybe post some choices later. I originally wanted fresh flowers....then I have been looking into little diamond pins as well. now i'm not sure if maybe I want a veil? I'm not sure if I will feel like i'm missing something if i don't have one! I tried a couple veils on when I was at the bridal shop and felt silly....i donno

I like the second and third BM, I think the second one is my favorite.
For the sand ceremony, I'm not having one (DFi doesn't want to do it), however, I am going to bring some sand home from the beach of the island we are getting married at. My point is I was looking for some unique jars on ebay and though the apothecary jars were unique and you can find them in different colors, not sure about yellow, but I have found some in blue. Just a thought. Sam, I can't remember her id right now, is using a science beeker since her and her DFi are science teachers.

I figured I would post the invitation stuff over here. :goodvibes
I found this website that has some pretty good selection for paper and colors. They have 11x17 section. You can get 250 sheets for about $23 depending on the weight of the paper. That's definitely a lot, but if you have other things you can use it for, it spreads out the cost, menu cards, place cards, favor tags, etc.

I need to get something off my chest, because its been bugging me all night. I'm in a total wedding funk. I can't really do much because I live far away from NY right now. My MOH, BMs and mom live there as well. I have to wait to plan a lot til I am back in NY and also when my mom is here in a month. SOOO it has just been driving me crazy. My MOH is awesome BUT she is young (like me) and isn't in a serious relationship and isn't thinking of marriage so she doesn't know much. (also being far away doesn't help) So I have been just getting sad about everything. Afraid the choices I already made are wrong (mainly because I can't go see them for very long) that I will be disappointed. That I want something different but i'm not really sure what. I don't really get why I'm feeling like this but its giving me a bad feel in my stomach :guilty: I wish there was someone here I could talk to about this stuff, but there really isn't. DF is a good sport but he is a guy and is very much in the mind set "You will make it perfect" and doesn't really want a hand in it. I would like to scream..I think this is the reason i want to make everything for the wedding so I feel useful and like something is getting done. But my mom (who is paying for a lot..) wants me to wait so I don't change my mind(I do that a lot...) I'm sorry to vent...guess i'm just feeling a little down in the dumps today

I'm sorry you feel like this! I felt pretty similar for along time. None of my bm's or family members live in the same city as me, and none of my BM's are really in the wedding mode, and well they are excited for me, are more caught up in their own life. My mother has been supportive, but it took about 3 months to get her that way. My FMIL has been a pretty big problem, as well as some other members of DF's family which hasn't helped. Honestly, through all of this, I just have learnt to go with my gut. I have NEVER made big decisions on my own (well I have DF) like this before....and I always feel like I am second guessing myself when it comes to decorating, etc. I somehow came up with my theme, and just stuck with it, and worked at it, and am happy with it. I started with a different theme, and wasted some money too (like you I always change my mind), so on things that you can wait on, maybe just wait. Other than that, trust your instinct, and I think you will be happy in the end! :goodvibes

Thanks dear. This whole situation is a catch 22. I am upset because I want to do stuff and want to make choices BUT I'm afraid I will make the wrong one. Unfortunately I was getting upset about my dress and maybe I rushed into it. But I know when I tried it on I loved it. and I waited 2 weeks to say yes order it.....I guess I'm just getting nervous or something. I was thinking maybe I want a veil or a tiara (which I was highly against before...) and that would fix whatever it is that is bothering me. Wish I knew what exactly was bugging me. :confused3 thanks again hun, I will try and calm down. I am curling my hair currently. For what ever reason I am convinced it will make me feel better

Good Morning dears.
So i'm pushing pass my moodiness! I have to just come to terms with the fact that my MOH is not going to be super involved, even though I want her to be. Her life apparently is too busy. :headache:
SO I am going to be excited for my wedding and I hope you ladies will help me with my choices and forget everyone else! yayay!
Me and DF sat down last night and went over the registry which made me happy! I'm so excited I can hardly wait! Then we looked at resturants (why? I don't know) we are both desperately trying to do the things we can so obsessing over our disneymoon works for us! here is a small list of what we plan to do on the disneymoon!
-Horse back riding in fort wilderness
-Backstage safari
-Dolphins in Depth (I am INSANELY excited about this, I really wanted to do the Seas Aqua tour..but DF can't swim and he got upset so....)
-Parisaling! HOLY CRAP am I excited. I am doing this alone
-Key's to the kingdom
-Couples spa treatments at the GF
-Carriage ride
-mini golf
a lot does depend on how much we get as presents...but we are hoping to get to do everything.
I am currently DESPERATELY trying to convince DF to do a honeymoon photo session. He ain't having any of it right now. Says it is too much money and I'm crazy.. I need to convince him. Does anyone know how to book these/how early ahead do I have to? Photographer suggestions?
so...because you were awesome with helping my find my cake topper :lovestruc I have another challenge for you! Does anyone know where we can rent Navy tuxes? DF SUCKS and is dead set on some....vintage navy tux from like the 70s. He has NO idea the name of it and is planning on "finding" it. which makes me want to cry, I know he will be up to the last min. looking for it and that scares me! BLAHHHHHHHHH. So the GM will need navy tuxes to match! I would prefer tuxes so they can rent them....BUT if I have to I guess suits. but my problem is one GM lives in St. Louis and the other lives in the UK! so they can't even go to the same place....
so here are some things i'm watching on ebay!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370215703487&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
we want the middle vase but the pouring glasses will be from this one

free engraving! awesome
Here are going to be the stickers for the front of the cds
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/cd.jpg
I am trying to find things to show my mom when she comes and then I think I can buy stuff!
here are a couple of choice I have been thinking about for my hair....now I really am confused at what I want. I originally wanted fresh flowers with my hair half up and curled. But no I am considered a tiara or clip for extra pop because my dress doesn't have a lot of sparkle. But I don't know, what do you think will look best with my dress? (and face)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/loopy-bun-front.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/loopy-bun-back.jpg
I like this one but with only half up (same way) and curls under?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/001_primary1.jpg

Okay so that is what I have right now. I am feeling better and excited again!

I forgot to post this before, but I really like the 3rd BM dress. I also love the second hair pic (brown hair with white flowers), but that is probably because I have it on my hair inspiration as well :rotfl: I feel you with the whole people not being involved thing, and like you, I just decided to accept it and move on.
I think you picked some great options for your honeymoon!! We are trying to do some of that stuff as well, but we are having trouble fitting it in right now.
Maybe if you let DF pick the location for your photo session he will get more into it?

I'm sorry to about your down feeling. I do understand how you feel, I am 2500 miles away from any of my family and DFi does a very good job of being supportive and helping, but sometimes it's just not the same as having your mom and friends. I did set up a private picasa web album for my mom and post pictures of things so she can see them. Overall, everything will work out, craft projects are good to keep your mind busy (I know I have created a few more projects just to keep busy) I have also had many doubts, I have never even been to the island that I am getting married on. You just have to be confident that the choices you have made will be wonderful.
I love the choices for the registry, I have heard some great things about the Dolphin and Keys to the Kingdom.
We were going to do a honeymoon photo shoot in Epcot, but we changed our photographer and are going to do a shoot with them at a couple of the resorts. The HM shoot through Disney is $310 and another $300 if you would like the high res CD of photos. If money is an issue, you may want to check out some of the area photographers because you can get a longer shoot, with DVD and edited for about $350-400, just a thought, it's not in the park, but it is around a couple resorts. Studio 222 is the photographer I hired, but Roots, Misty Miotto, Randy all do them and I checked the pricing on all of them. If you go to the Disney photographer website you can contact them and Karen Chandler will send you the brochure paperwork, or pm your e-mail and I can forward it to you. You can book now.
I really like the sand ceremony vases and free engraving is great. I like the second to last hair, the half up half down with the curls, it's very dramatic and you could get sparkly things to put in your hair, but I really like the flowers.
I'm glad you are feeling better!

Your ring is very pretty I love the way the solitaire looks in the set. You have plugs! You are very brave, my DF wanted to get a pair and I was like I don't know how that would work with your job (he is studying to be an accountant, lol) so I bought him a pair of fake ones at Spencer's in our mall. They look pretty cool though, I'd get a pair myself if I was brave, lol. That's great how you are getting the white and the black ones to match the wedding theme :thumbsup2

Thanks! I like it a lot. I have had my plugs since I was 16 or so its been a while. I did it slowly and now I have 0g and haven't wanted to go bigger or take them out. I was looking for diamond ones or pearl ones and they just seemed so expensive and that they would draw attention to them so we went with basics and now can have fancy dangly earrings (I have 3 wholes in each ear) :)

Good morning!
I wish I had more to report. ( 3 weeks til my mom is here and a lot of decisions will get made! :woohoo: ) I asked my SIL to be one of my BMs so now I have two! yay! she is pretty excited about being one which really surprised me.
Yesterday while on my search for glassware for the sand ceremony....I got lots of princess toys for my Flower girls backpack! and failed to find any glassware. I did find a scrapbook kit at michaels that was crazy on sale! that made me happy. When DF and I were shopping for rings I got this for the honeymoon
http://img.hottopic.com/is/image/HotTopic/280169_hi?$thumbnail_big$
I am getting all these clothes on sale for the honeymoon, because it is getting chilly in Chi town. DF thinks i'm crazy for getting clothes so far ahead of time. i don't!
DF mentioned the other day that he would like it if I wore some sort of color, i'm thinking he means jewelry wise..So now I may have to rethink some ideas! I would need to find a light blue or like yellow necklace.
I have been thinking about what to do for escort cards, my original idea was sanddollars with everyones name and table...but they seem so pricey!! Then I was thinking of how to get molds of sea creatures out of clay or soap. Yesterday I was thinking about origami. I can't seem to find a sea creature or shell thats easy, but I was thinking flowers OR I also was thinking pin wheels? They are very summery and remind me a being at the beach? Thoughts? My mom is going to kill me that I have a new project I want to do! hehe I would also like dragonflies. Guess I am on the search for good origami instructions today! I will make mock ups of the ones I like and post them.
I start classes again on Friday, including an etchings class which I am planning on make the cover for our invites in. :) yay
thats it for now. hopefully more later!

If you really like the sand dollar idea (I was going to do something similar, but we're not doing assigned seating). Buy sanddollars, they are not that expensive by themselves and use ribbon and make little cards to attach to them, through the holes, Florida keyholes are the best if you want to use ribbon. Or you could make the little cards and attach them with a couple glue dots in the middle of the sand dollar.
This is where I ordered some of my samples from http://www.qualityshells.com/sand-dollars.html?gclid=CPT1ueLl0JwCFRlcagodXxpVmg
I like the top, cute. And there is nothing wrong with shopping this far ahead, that's what I will be doing this weekend to get summer clothes, before they are gone. :goodvibes

Thanks! I did see that sight but if I do sanddollars I want them to be at least 3" and I would need 70. so..it comes out to a lot for just escort cards. so thats why I was looking for other options. Also when they ship something like sanddollars i'm afraid they will break so I would have to get more then I need. We will see. Thanks tho!

hello hello.
Okay SOOOO..cake. That is so my cake. I am in love with it (clearly..) so I am going to bring a picture to my venue and pray they say thats fine and don't try and charge me extra? yeah here is hoping! Otherwise I will need a back-up cake if they are like $200 bucks more or something! (my cake is included in our price) Though I can see if I can cut something else out so I can have my cake. :lovestruc Just in case I am on the search for a back-up cake on project wedding which I am over half way through! (5000+ cakes! insane) thats where I found the perfect cake!
So I THINK I have made some desicions so lets see. Wedding party seems to be coming together so far I have a MOH and a BM and DF has a GM. After talking to my mom last night I realized that its really mean to not ask my childhood friend (old roommate before me and DF got an apartment) I have known her forever and she would want me in hers. Plus she is the only girl of my main friends that isn't involved. My other friend is singing. SO yeah I think I have another BM even though she will probably do nothing to help and give me crap about buying a dress! :headache: I still feel its the right thing to do and if I don't I will get more greef and never live it down. so thats that. I will have a MOH and 2 BM. so much for my one and one. DF still has to decided between his 2 friends who will be his Best Man. He is going to wait to the last second I can feel it.
ANYWAY.....I am still thinking about escort cards (because i'm crazy and I can't ever pick anything!!) What are your thoughts on Pin wheels? I figured out that the origami paper would *** like $15 and then straws would cost like...$5 so that like KILLS my sanddollar $70 bucks cost. My mom says pin wheels don't work with my theme and i'm crazy and I need to stop making projects! I like projects. Keep me sane and make me feel like i'm doing something! What do you think does Pin Wheels work with my theme? They remind me of the beach but am I crazy?
Here is an example
http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0040150/large_image.jpg
if I'm not crazy and you think it works...what do you think I can put them in that would go and hold them up? I don't like the grass idea...
so thats all for now. let me know what you think

pin wheel! I found this huge pack of card stock for 10 bucks! pages are 12x12 and the pin wheels are 6x6 so I can get 4 out of each color. I will be using different shades of blues yellows and whites with colored braids and white straws.
yay! I actually am satisfied with something I made for the wedding! now sleepy time for class tomorrow

Wow, I love the pin wheels.
I'm hesitating to suggest this, because to me it sounds so simple, and I'm thinking surely you've thought of it, and there's some reasonable explanation why you haven't said it... But surely sand would be something the pin wheels would stan up in and would go with your beach theme...

hahaha no your are not silly to suggest that! I have thought of sand but my mom is kind of against it. she said that sand is heavy and you would need a good amount to hold of the straight up and then people might get sand everywhere  so thats when I was like...uh oh. There will be sand in all the center pieces but people won't be touching those! Sand is one idea. The other idea was use that green foam for flowers, punch holes in it and then get fabric and cover it and punch holes as well. This way there is something to hold it but no mess! we will see. I still like the sand ;)

Oh no, I meant a one dish/tray for all the pinwheels, not individual ones for each pinwheel. If your mom is worried about the sand, maybe small pebbles would work, wouldn't stick and get everywhere. There's plenty of things you could use. The floral squares could work as well.

Me and DF have the whole weekend together which NEVER happens so i'm totally happy about that. I did get a shocking realization this morning however. So my MOH has been like MIA (at least from me) for the whole summer. she was in Vermont and said she was super busy. WHich upset me that I couldn't get in touch with her, not only because she is my MOH but she is my best friend. WELL she posts on facebook that she has moved into a new apartment. which is great...or would be...IF we didn't already have a lease on an apartment. So here is a break down. I lived in a apartment with DF, MOH and BM and then in January moved to go back to school, leasing out my room. They were suppose to get First month, last month and deposit just like we had to pay when we moved in, however they didn't. I keep getting told that when/if they lease the apartment they will get the money we are owed. GUESS WHAT? no money. Now i'm told that in December I can expect money. :scared1: i'm so upset/angry/hurt I could scream. so I don't here from my so called best friend for MONTHS and now I find out they move out of our place and don't tell me? I'm sorry to have to vent all of this but i'm so upset. Neither girl has asked about my wedding or cared and it REALLY upsets me. I don't know what to do, I don't even know how to talk to them about all this. I just want friends who care....is that SO MUCH to ask for? :sad2:
sorry....for all this complaining.

Oh, I feel so awful for you!!!! I really understand how you feel, as that is totally something that would happen to me. Sometimes it is so much easier to vent to people on these boards, since you can really say whatever you want, knowing we don't know the other party! So vent away! And why does it seem like the worst come out in people around the most important time of your life? Er
Anyway, on the upside, I think the rings are stunning!!! I love your ring so much, it makes me wish I had a pearl!!! I love the antique look to it as well!

thank you dears. I have not talked to her. DF is home and I have been trying not to ruin our time with my upsetness :( I know the conversation will be so long and I don't want to put him through that. She hasn't been answering her phone for months because she is "busy" or has no reception. which now I think is total bull. we will see! I will let you know. I will just think about my pretty cake and rings :rotfl:

Thats sucks about your friend, reminds me of the stuff I am going through with my bridal party. You just gotta stay positive and remember that in the end all that matters is the man you are marrying at the end of the aisle, that's what keeps me sane :goodvibes I love the ring by the way, I think I see a few hidden mickey's in there, though I could be wrong.

Thanks hun! I think people really don't think before they act. I understand people get caught up in their lives, I just can't see myself ignoring someone. Guess people deal with life differently.
Thanks so much for you compliments on my ring. I am very excited about it. too bad it has to sit in a box for 9 months! hehhe

Thanks, that really helps! I never noticed the mickeys! DF started laughing when I showed him
I have also started school and been busy with that. I am down to working only 2 days a week so my wedding time is MUCH smaller! boo. I get taken out to dinner tonight to celebrate DF's promotion. I love how that works....he gets promoted I get dinner! hehe. So unfortunately I have been neglecting my PJ because I don't have anything to update! If I have any time today.....I will finally get to talk to the officiant and maybe get that settled. which will be good. I have been telling her i'd call her for weeks.
So I wish I had more to update but right now I don't. This Saturday I am allowed to print my cd stickers at work! yayayay. So I will have those. AND its the big Renegade craft fair this weekend so who knows I may find some jewelry and such! which I'm excited for. I'm at work all day so I may find some stuff to post later! :surfweb:

hey hey. I'm at work being a bad employee (again) so I realized I haven't mentioned what DF is wearing....perhaps thats because even HE doesn't know :headache: he wants some vintage suit thats navy with small pin strips? I don't know he has apparently seen it in England vintage stores but i'm really not sure how he is going to get it as he doesn't know what its called! Well thats all him! haha. I still have to find tuxes or suits that are navy for the boys to wear. It seems like navy tuxes don't exist so I guess we are doing suits. Is it a lot to ask the guys to buy suits? Can you rent suits? :confused3
but ANYWAY
I want to get DF cufflinks because they are cute and a boy need some jewelry for the wedding. So i'm gonna surprise him! (and if his "suit" doesn't have cuff link holes I will make them myself!) so his suit is navy but he is wearing greyish cons and black plugs (I have give up on fighting this)

forgot to post this early!
So I talked to my photographer! and it sounds like he is going to work out nicely. We were on the phone for like an hour. We are going to try and get pictures of the BM and female family taken at a park near my grans/moms house so that we have less pictures to take during our cocktail hour. He also said he can sneak us out at salad time for sunset pictures (yay!) and will do night shots with our car!

and around the gardens, which i'm super excited about.
The officiant is calling me today to discuss everything, so i'm excited about that.
Also I spoke to my hair dresser so that we can set up a trial hair in December. She is going to dye and cut my hair then as well. She also agreed with my idea to get my hair done and then go to my dress fitting! yay. She is going to "try" and get my hair to my normal color which is dark brown. I had black for a while but I don't think I want black for my wedding. Otherwise it might have to be auburn like it is now, which will be fine.

well thats 2 votes for the ghost. Thanks, I really like my ring. At first i was having a very hard time finding one that worked, and then i fell in love with that one :lovestruc Try looking at Kay Jewelers for DF. they have a lot of pricey ones but they also have a lot of in expensive guy bands. My DF's actually isn't gold its titanium, but they said that for guys its better because they are careless :rotfl:
I like the idea of making invites! Its more personal! I am so far making the escort cards (pin wheels), programs, favors and invites. I am sure more will come up! I say if you have time do it because nothing will be as special as you doing it yourself. So yay on you making your own invites, I look forward to seeing how they come out!

small update! but still an update!
I have done a sketch of what the etching will look like for our wedding invite cover (it will obviously look a lot different when its etched and printed) It will be more sand castley and have shells in the water and be stippled
So I did this one in class and then DF didn't like it he said it wasn't very castle like and called it some British term that angered me. (Oh silly couple bickering)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0178.jpg
so then I made a quick sketch last night. (forgive the very unfinished quality and slightly tiltedness It was quick) So I am going to combine elements of both for the finished but DF (and reluctantly me) agree it should be more uniformed..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0177.jpg
Talked to the officiant she seems super nice and even though I said NO to a lot of her regular ceremony she seems very flexible and is even mailing me a copy so I can change and add what I want. We want a completely none religious ceremony, more about love and friendship. Somehow that seems hard? but she will do whatever we want! she said its our day and it needs to fit our taste and she understands. She is also like $200 bucks cheaper then anyone else I have found :thumbsup2 yay on saving money
ALSO, spoke to our DJ who has be MIA for a month. which has annoyed me, but when I spoke to him today he was super apologetic and sounded very excited to do our wedding. He even lower the price of his original quote by $400 bucks! :scared1: I was Shocked! but delighted! So it has been a very money saving weekend!
I went to this craft fair yesterday that I have been looking forward to for months! and found tons of stuff. I tried to not buy much because I wanted to digest and figure things out. But most of the designers will make custom pieces and give me bulk discount!
so this is the flower girl necklace
http://muggytuesday.com/wp-content/uploads/pinkpetal.JPG
obviously in my colors. and she can make a matching clip for her hair! The only problem is i'm not sure if it should be pale yellow or blue.
these are for the BM
http://ny-image1.etsy.com//iusb_760x100.5584573.jpg
The girl who makes them is out of state right now because of the fair so there aren't picture of the necklaces. but she can make any color and with matching earrings. They are just simple silver chains with one of those pendents hanging and then I can get hanging earring if I want.
I am back and forth on what color the jewelry should be compared to the dress.
Like if the BM are in Yellow should they have a blue necklace because they also have blue flowers? and then it would be opposite for the FM?
I found a necklace for me (I think!) but she makes everything custom. its 2 strands of different sized pearls with a crystal hanging and she said she could try and find me pale yellow! so we will see. Waiting on a picture!
I also got these for my FM for her bag of stuff I am planning!

They are paper dolls if you can't tell!
I am in the process of trying to convince DF to be the Prince from Snow White for Halloween because I really want to be snow white before I dye my hair bright red (after the wedding of course)
This was the only thing I bought yesterday

On the BM jewelry, you can really do what you want. I think if they're in yellow and the flowers are blue it will definitely pop more in blue, but if you didn't want it to stand out as much the yellow would be nice.

I was thinking the blue for a pop as well. I was really thinking if they didn't have their flowers they would still have blue but I wasn't sure if that would look weird. My MOH will have a blue sash on her yellow dress so she is slightly different. Also my FM is wearing white but will have yellow petals. so i don't know if she sound have yellow sash and yellow necklace (she has a light blue parasol) Or should I do blue sash and blue necklace? oor.....blue sash and yellow necklace. too many choices can't decide. Don't want to overwhelm anyone with color.

So DF LOVES to confuse me!
Recently he has "mentioned" weird things about what i'm wearing for the wedding. Like when I was looking at BM jewelry at a fair he said I would like it if you wore some color. He also was joking about the wedding wears and said I should wear those as my veil. Which I was like "what veil!?" Also while I was catching up on Pj he saw these earrings
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/1249075792005062900.jpg
and was like those are really pretty!
now I don't know how your DFs are but mine doesn’t really have an opinion about this wedding. So these little....mentions sparked a light bulb.
so now I have to think about a Veil, colored necklace and dangly earrings. Which really is the color necklace OR the dangly earrings. Now I have been looking at earrings like this until he was like colored necklace! MEN
and I don't know about a veil....i'm so back and forth. I think when my mom comes I will curl my hair and when we go shopping for her try on some veils, tiaras and clips. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I should also try and find a lace tube top of some sort so I can really get an idea!

The new castle looks great! I know what you mean, my DF is not very interested in most of the wedding details either. He just wants it to look nice, but whatever I want is fine. As he says, it's really my opinion that matters. Smart boy!
I'm not crazy about veils either, but I feel like they are traditional and look nice during the ceremony. I liked the one you picked, but you should go try some in person to get an idea of the length and style you want. I'm pretty short so the fingertip length was too overwhelming on me, but I wouldn't have known that without trying some first. The Ebay prices are great though, so I would probably order from them since you won't be wearing the veil that much.

That necklace is gorgeous. It will look nice with your dress. As far as the veil goes, I say wear what ever you feel comfortable with, not what he wants you to where.
I think the invites are a good start and will look better in the colors they are meant to be. I like the idea of etching the castle, maybe if the paper you wanted won't work, you can still use the paper for the pocket and do the etching on a different paper and attach it to the pocket. :confused3

hey hun! thanks! I etched it into its plate yesterday! was very fun. Thanks I love the necklace! Do you think I should keep it will the clear? I have been thinking about that and I do like it as is. I am hopefully going to try on veils. I'm still not sure.
That is exactly what my teacher said. DF didn't like that idea much BUT if the paper doesn't play nice we don't have much choice. Unless we make the invites with the right paper and that would be PRICEY! so We will see! I will know if it works or not on friday so I will either be super happy or super sad! haha. I agree, it's a good start but I think you need to do a mock-up with the actual materials to get a better idea. I'm really bad at visualizing these things. I'm not sure where you're getting materials from but at cards and pockets you can get samples just so you can get a better idea.

Love the necklace too! :goodvibes
Thanks dear. I do hope the etching works *** I already etched the plate (which took all yesterday...) and all I have to do it put it in the acid now. so fingers crossed! so if it doesn't work, I will have to try lots of other options. so thanks for the advice!
The necklace is beautiful! I like it both ways, that's a hard decision to make on how to wear it.
I agree, it's a good start but I think you need to do a mock-up with the actual materials to get a better idea. I'm really bad at visualizing these things. I'm not sure where you're getting materials from but at cards and pockets you can get samples just so you can get a better idea.
Yea, I will have to get it and try it on with the dress in December. I will take pictures and maybe you ladies can help me decide!
I am hand making the pockets from cardstock. I have considered cards and pockets but I don't like the way they close (the half cover?) because I can't print on that. so as of now I am hand making everything. Those were just a mock up so my DF didn't keep going "HUH? what are you doing?" hehe. I am going to call the paper store and see if there is anyway I can get samples so I can mock up with the real paper. Thanks hun

It will definitely depend on how it looks with the dress, but they are two beautiful options to have :goodvibes.
Yeah, all of theirs are the half fold front. Even if you don't use them, if your place can't give you samples, you can order cardstock samples and invitation mats from them so you can put a mock-up together. It makes such a difference to be able to see it in the real materials. Lol, yeah I do things to show DF too, but he still doesn't really get it most of the time, I'm still trying to explain to him why we needed the cricut! :lmao:

I love that last necklace you posted!! Very pretty!
Have you checked out cards and pockets? We are doing about 40 invites for less than $100. We got the supplies from them and are cutting them ourselves and printing on a home printer. I like the castle though!

But you would still be making them. We bought the pockets pre-made...but thats it. There is still lots of cutting and glueing and don't forget the design (my moh did that for me). It's still hand-made...you just are having someone else get you started :rotfl:

Oh words of wisdom.....yeah I have issues with needing my hand in everything :rotfl: I am aware of this fact. I was originally going to make my wedding dress! what a headache that would have been. Right now its the etching factor. My teacher said some papers will be really hard to print on. Which means I can't use pre-made pockets. :headache: Also I don't get why they make all of the with half covers? I wanted a full! I am not sure why I make everything more difficult for myself. Thanks for dealing with my insanity. I will hopefully know everything this weekend and stop stressing! fingers crossed

I love the necklace - i would lean toward clear. But you really need to see it with the dress.
We used paperandmore.com for our pocket invitations. Did you see this style (i just grabbed the link for silver)?

Thanks! I have seen those and considered them. Like everything else i'm I don't like them a 100% I wanted the extra fold (I think it looks better) but they don't make them with a full fold.I will have to see when I try and make mine. If they don't print right I will need to think of another plan.

Hello ladies! so this weekend and today was crazy and eventful. So my mom came in on Friday and I got to show her everything I have been working on. She actually surprisingly liked everything, except maybe the necklace for me.
So on Saturday we went to this place I do I do. which was the most insane experience EVER. The first thing she said to us was "Hi, the store is really packed and things can fall easily so ask me if you want to see anything because if you break it I WILL make you pay for it" It was the most uncomfortable way to step into the store. It is an accessories store. I thought it was just invites and guest books, favors stuff like that. But it was also like jewelry and veils. Well DF came with us so I didn't want him to know anything and the lady totally didn't get that. DF even went away and put music on his ipod on so he couldn't hear anything. She wouldn't let us leave and kept yelling at me for not being "prepared" to look at jewelry and veils. She was getting mad when I was like I didn't even know you had them! She even followed us out the door. CRAZY
so then me and my mom went to the cheapy bridal store and tried stuff on. The owner was really nice and let me write down style numbers and take pictures and all that. The next day we decided to go to this other bridal store. When we got there we had to buzz in? and it said couture bridal. Which made me rather nervous, thinking we were in the wrong place. Well when we got upstairs the first thing the lady said was we are booked up. :scared1: I was like excuse me? I just wanted to look at bridesmaid dresses. She soon relaxed and told me I could use an empty room and take in whatever we wanted!! She left us totally alone so that we could take pictures and do whatever. Which was awesome. Well shocker of shockers me AND my mom found what we wanted! :woohoo:
So, what I am hoping for is that my BM's will wear all different dresses, but as you know they have been major pains in the butts......so I will have to see. I have not had the energy to call my MOH and have that fight so I have just let it go for now, which I know is bad but...I just can't be on the phone yelling or crying right now. so yeaaaaaaahhhhh
here are the dresses! They come in the same fabric and yellow!
If I have my way this is who will wear them.

We also decided on the flower girl dress. it has very similar fabric to the BM dresses but has the layers like mine!

My mom found her dress but she is having problems finding what color she wants. there are a MILLION shades of green. She wants green because she wants it to be summery without stepping in on my colors. so you can help. the colors aren't as bright as they appear here. Give opinions please!

best part of this place...I got to try on Disney Jewelry! which made me SO excited. I was bouncing off the walls..
I tried on this necklace and fell in love....
http://www.disneybridal.com/collection/accessories/necklaces/necklaces_images/dn120.jpg
I still like the first necklace I showed you but I just loved this necklace and couldn't take it off. so i need to see if I can get it cheap somewhere.
I also tried on veils and really liked one. Guess what? It was a Disney Veil and I didn't even know it!
I can't seem to find it on the site but..thats what the girl told me.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0234.jpg
It has tiny crystals all over. I will be on the search for it on ebay! btw this isn't my dress it was just a similar one.
So we decided a couple of things.
Flowers
my MOH will have the blue Hydrangeas like the other girls but with white stephanotis with blue pearls like mine. (but I will also have the yellow flowers and white hydrangeas)
DF will have white stephanotis as his
and the GM will have blue hydrangeas
We bought straws. my mom convinced a Chinese restaurant to sell us a box of clear straws (I thought they were white.....they weren't I will have to deal...) They were SO confused and we totally upset them.
she also did a mock up of what they will look like if she does the writing.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0237.jpg
We bought Disney gift bags for the welcome bags for the hotel rooms. They are super cute and were cheap. We also went shopping and I bought more honeymoon clothes! There are SO many summer clothes sales right now :yay: Me and my mom spent a whole night cutting the pinwheels but now we just have to punch the holes and do the writing! so thats some done.
Here is the test etching for the invites
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0240.jpg
Please be honest
Some things left to decide.
Cake...which I will repost. including my back up cake

This is my backup. without the ugly purple flower. done blue cake and yellow shaded pearls and little white flowers like the other cake.
Linens
Make-up artist/make-up
Hair
There are more but my brain is dying!
My mom left on monday and we had an awesome trip! lots done (I think there might be even more then I put here so I might have to update!)

I like the dresses you picked, they look nice together and in the right color they will look even better.
I really like that MOB dress, if you don't mind, who is the designer. I like the first color, it looks fun.
The veil looks pretty and I almost bought that necklace. Check out weddingish.com and sign up for their updates and they will send you coupons periodically, http://www.advantagebridal.com/jewelry1.html also has them, but they are more expensive.
The etching came out great! I really like it and the pinwheels are adorable.

The dresses look great! Why doesn't your MOH want different dresses? If she got to pick which one she likes, why would she care what the other two girls wear? The FG dress is really cute, I wanted to get something similar but it's hard to find dresses in colors.
The jewelry is really pretty. I really like the MOB dress, I like the 2nd and 3rd colors best. I think the 2nd one would look really nice with yellow. The 3rd one might be too light but it's hard to know without seeing the fabric swatches.
I think the etching looks good, and will look even better on the right paper, the paper will be blue right?
The cakes are great. I don't see any reason why Disney couldn't do your first cake, it looks like just fondant or gum paste to create those waves. They can definitely do the second one, they have one that's similar. Lol, what is with that ugly flower!

Thanks! I hope they will look good. You never can tell! but I like the idea of everyone wearing different! Makes it not so....dreaded bm's dress? haha
The designer is Jordan. The first one is the color we left the store liking and then realized they have like a 40 colors! which I think is shocking.
thanks so much for the sites I will def do that. It was $120 (i think) in the store by me? seemed like a lot..The sites I have found seem to not have the necklace....is it an older one? :confused3

Well A. my MOH has been being a big BRAT! which I have ranted about too much on here. she is just MIA and in her own life and not involved in the wedding. I am also not giving her credit. I have no shown her the dresses yet because that would also require us talking and me freaking out on her because she hasn't been around for WAY too long. My mom is afraid no one will like the purple one. because its puffy? my fave is the purple so I don't get that. I plan on showing purple and red to my MOH and have her pick but....I kind of already know who I want to wear what! haha its my friend who might be anti the purple. she is SUPER small so I thought she'd look great in it, but my mom made the point that she likes to look thin so she might feel big? ugh. This is again all in our heads! but they are predictable.
Thanks my mom will be happy to hear that. she is back and forth on the colors. I don't like the 3rd. I agree its too light. She is afraid the 2nd will be too dark for the time of year? I don't get that? but...thats moms for ya
The paper was originally going to be yellow....but when I did the blue ink it looked green, which I was kind of afraid of. SO....yes paper will be blue with dark blue ink and the inside (which I'm working on hopefully today!) will be printed on yellow with a navy mat. and figures crossed the ink doesn't look green on those and all colors match nicely!
I am not getting married in Disney...though I am really wanting to know. Sadly my family would freak out and its not worth the headache...SO yea I am having a Disney themed/beach themed wedding and Disneymoon :lovestruc so I do not know if my place will do that cake. Cake is included and I don't know what they can and can't do, hence the back up cake. That flower is really ugly isn't it..
The dresses all look so great! And once again, I LOVE the pinwheels!!!

Thanks hun! I am starting to really like them too. Clear straw is okay? Thats what I was stressing about hahaha :rotfl: I'm sure my DF thought the back up was too girly but he knows better then to say so! I kind of told him that he wasn't going to be able to win on what cake he wanted! hahaha I am MEAN. but I swear thats the only thing I'm really putting my foot down with!
I am just afraid they will look too homemade? ya know? I am in the process of trying to pick paper weight....67 seems too light but 110 seems too much! :confused3
OH! so when my mom was here we got these wedding magazines and my mom came across a candy set up. and she was like....we should do that!! I wanted one but I didn't want to add more extras! but she suggested it! So now I can have one!!! I neeed to look around and figure out what candies are my colors and prices and such but YAYAYAY!
Btw does anyone know where I can get fancy wedding flats? or small heels? All flats seem so boring!

poor neglected PJ.
So I would love to say I have a big update....but I don't. So I will share the few things that I have done
So the other night I got home from work and asked my MOH if we could talk (FINALLY) which I should have predicted she texted me 45 mins after our "phone date" which by that time was 11:15 and I had class the next day and was already furious! This conversation is NOT going to take like 10 mins. however ironically my SIL BM called me and chatted earlier in the day...which just proves she cares WAY more. I wish I could just have my friends who live here with me now. but A. I would have to endure not having the other girls and B. they would probably think I was weird because they haven't know me for that long. OH WELL
SO my SIL will not be able to make it to my bridal shower because its around Christmas and she works in retail. She is pretty upset up it and kept trying to convince me to have it another time. which is not happening because I live far away from NY and can't afford all those flights. While I was waiting for MOH to call I did projects! I watch "Ghost" and "Biggest Loser" hahaha

Here is a picture of our bed will all my crap on it!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0258.jpg
These are what the finished will look like. The book inside is not done yet.
But the cover is
I ordered and received the paper for the invites (still need to order envelopes) and did a test run for the etching which came out really nice if I don't say so myself! Need to do some work on the inside which hopefully will happen today! I have to much stuff today to do!
Okay so DF is impossible to get to answer questions when it comes to wedding stuff. So I figured the only way is to try and get answers out of him randomly and not all at once! :rotfl: So He hasn't wanted to work on the cd because I am sure it will take FOREVER. But I had this idea that I wanted a "last dance" (technically the 2nd to last) to be a slow Disney song, because everyone is sending us off to Disney? DF doesn't know American weddings soooo he didn't question it and now I have guaranteed me a second slow dance. (DF HATES to dance) So I was playing songs for him and to like everyone he made a face. I was like You have heard things songs before!! I thought Beauty and the beast to which he replied..."Oh so i'm the beast?" clearly not happy about that :headache: so the only song he hummed to was "A whole new world" so i'm thinking thats the keeper. Which works I love that song. though I am torn between the movie version and the people version. Opinions?
So day I will try and get to craft stores on search for the perfect guest book! hehe Tomorrow we are spending the WHOLE day at an orchard picking apples and pumpkins and eating festive food! I'm extremely excited!!!!
That is all for now maybe more later. Have a good weekend ladies!

The cds look great! Glad to hear it's working out with the etching, I'm sure they will look fantastic.
I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to talk it out with your MOH yet. Hopefully you can get everything worked out soon. Maybe you need to give her specific things to do? Although I guess call me at this time is pretty specific. :sad2:
At least your other BM seems to care a lot more and you always have us to share all the wedding planning details with. ;)
lol, my DF is the same way! He gets overwhelmed if I ask too many questions, so I basically sneak them in when I REALLY need his input, otherwise I make the decision myself since he said my opinion is the one that really matters anyway . Oh man, this is like a glimpse into my future with the CD thing...he wants to do CD favors too and he said he would do them, should I be very afraid?
Have an awesome time tomorrow! All those things are so fun! And I love eating the caramel apples and other tasty things, yum!

I just try to ignore the issues with my MOH because it really upsets me. She is also suppose to be my best friend. Oh well I am glad to know I have you guys!
The problem with the cds is that we have different choices in music. We also have mixes that we have been making each other since we started dating so we are going to try and make the cd a progression from dating-distance-engagement!-more distance-up til the wedding. soooo We can at least take most from those cds and the issues will come when we get to more recent haha. I don't think you should be afraid. We just have a habit of turning silly fun things into a fight. sooooo that can be a problem
We are very excited to eat all those goodies! No diet tomorrow!!!

I think that's a really cute idea to have it be a progression. Lol, oh I think I do have to be afraid. My DF is a massive procrastinator...and then when he does manage to get around to doing the cd's he'll get so wrapped up in picking the music that it will take him forever! :lmao: I can see it now, it'll end up being a box set to include all the songs he wants! :rotfl2:

You should definatly do it... it was really cool. DF was waiting to propose and he couldn't wait anymore so he said "can you give me your wine please?" I thought it was because he wanted more, since he gulped his, and i said NO! he took it away and said " i think you'd let me if you knew what i was doing" so i let him take it away and then he asked me while holding my hand lol Apparently wine was WAYYY more important to me! :lmao:
Anyway definatly do that! and its in the Fort wilderness side of the resort so there are horses near there and the hoopy-de-doo review too! so you could do both if you wanted!

We are def riding horses while we are there because DF has never done it and I love it! (he is SO SCARED) Have you ever done the hoopy-de-doo review? I can't decide if we should. I have a read a lot of honeymooners getting pulled up on stage. DF would down right refuse! hahah

Lol, usually he is good with everything, he doesn't mind character meals or lining up to meet them, but for some reason no HDDR? But his favorite meal is dinner, so I bet he thinks it could conflict with a nice steak dinner he'd usually get!
I told my aunt that I could take my cousins the park one day after the wedding, if she and my uncle wanted to go out to dinner, so I could do all those things that you can't do without kids, like go in the Honey I shrunk the Kids play ground! Photo of me on a giant ant here I come! DF in a giant cheerio bring it on! :lmao:

okay I am a TERRIBLE student....and can not focus at ALL...1 1/2 pages out of 5 i SUCK. so instead I decided it was time to make a wedding post! hehe
so Katie had me thinking the other day about veils and today about ADRS so how about a little update on both?!
So...still looking for a veil...I want it the same as the one I tried on at the bridal store. I don't want it too think so you can still see my flowers and back of dress. I found this seller on ebay...seems like she makes them? Kind of hard to tell..well they don't have pictures of the one I wanted so here are similiar ones? I NEED help.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v153/no_kiss_goodbye/IMG_0234.jpg
here is a reminder of what i'm looking for. its a crisp cut edge with scatter crystals, elbow length. (though...now i'm looking at it...it looks longer...its is because i'm wearing it low in my hair?) is this still considered 2 tier if its 2 layers but same length?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120480876834&var=420000363270&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
so what i'm getting from this is they make them whatever you want. the only picture they have is the short one....but they can do a crisp cut edge and scattered crystals. Is this similar to the one I tried on?
heres another one from the side which I think would be more the length
http://cgi.ebay.com/2T-BRIDAL-WEDDING-VEIL-CHOOSE-COLOR-EDGE-ACCENTS-SIZE_W0QQitemZ120480100603QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Ve ils?var=&hash=item61c9f8d285
They are cheap but I don't want to be stuck with terrible veil. seems like its hard for me to find what I want.
This is the one I found on Etsy but I didn't know if it was too big. I wanted it to fall behind me.

I also found these shoes on ebay....can I get away with them? or they too casual? probably would choose white.

I have been on a crazy search for fancy flats but they are all so boring it annoys me....any suggestions?
Here is a list of ADR's we are planning on (we have 10 days..so we have a lot to fill)
Reviews please

Narcoosee's (or...Citricos?)
Spirit of Aloha
50's Prime time
Biegarten
Coral Reef
Crystal Palace
I don't know if I can eat at Artist Point because it doesn't have too much Veggie food.

Oh i'm such a bad influnce on you! hahahaha
Ok first.. Veil
I think isaw that seller on ebay. The way i see it, for the price they're going to sell it for i'd go for it. You're not going for like a mantilla veil or anything with too much detailing so its really just tulle and crystals... they can't really mess that up lol. I would definatly go for it! The one on etsy looks like the seller fanned it out so you can see the whole thing.
Second.. ADR's
I'm going to have to steal a few things from you list! I forgot that DF wanted to do Beirgarten too! All of your choices look awesome though... CR is AMAZING! i had the grilled mahi mahi and licked the bowl clean! (not kidding either ask DF!)

I think i might have to listen and go with the ebay one. You don't think the etsy one is wider then the ebay ones? Its easier to tell that the etsy one is nice, makes me nervous that I cant see the ebay one before I buy but etsy is 3x as much!
Steal away! now i'm getting hungry for Disney food!

Love your "everything by my HW update" LOL. I totally feel the same way...such a procrastinator! Anyway, I feel the same way about flats...I love shoes that are different! One thing I found is "shoe clips" which are pretty fun! Here is one example...I am sure there are a lot more out there:

I know, so not fair! Sometimes I wonder if I can sneak in there, but I worry they'll say no.
Love the title of your update :rotfl:!
Let's see, I think that would be what you want. I say for the price, couldn't really hurt to order it. I'm consider getting my veil from ebay too. I want it for the ceremony but probably will take it off sometime during the reception so I can't really see spending $$$ on it. But we have a indoor flea market type place near me and there are a few sellers there that make them, so I may go check that out.
I think those shoes are cute. They remind me of princess Jasmine shoes the way they are pointy. I think they will be fine under your dress. The part you would see still looks dressy enough so it won't look funny.
Okay, onto the food! My favorite subject!
Jiko - Love it, favorite restaurant in Disney and we may even serve the filet with mac&cheese at our wedding! I know you don't eat meat, but your DF may like that. ;)
California Grill - went for the first time in June and really liked it! Yum, flatbreads! The goat cheese polenta was also amazing!
I would do HDDR instead of Mickey's BBQ, I think HDDR generally gets better reviews.
Oooh, Narcoosee's or Citricos. Really love both, but if I had to choose one...Citricos!
Spirit of Aloha - I've seen some bad reviews on this one, I would skip it. Maybe do Kona or Ohana instead followed by Wishes on the Poly beach. :thumbsup2
50's PT - haven't done it but looking forward to it maybe on our PS trip.
Biergarten - want to try this, but don't like sitting with random people, maybe during the wedding trip when we'll have enough to fill a table. :lmao:
Coral Reef - didn't care for the food, seated really far from the tank and had a long wait, would do Tutto Italia instead, the food is amazing and the restaurant is really pretty. Very romantic.
Crystal Palace - is this breakfast or dinner? For dinner I would do CRT, nothing more magical than eating in the Castle. For breakfast it's good but VERY crowded and we didn't get to see all the characters. Would do Donald's Safari Breakfast instead or if you want to see Pooh & Tigger, 1900 Park Fare - you also get Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter so the character interaction is better there.
Artist Point - I really like this one too. I thought they had potato chive potstickers, which to me sounded delicious! The chef could probably also make you something special if your DF really wanted to eat there.
Some of our other favorites - Sci Fi, Hollywood Brown Derby, Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch), Kona Cafe (lunch) and the Yachtsman. I know the Yachtsman is a steak house but they have some veggie options and as with any Disney restaurant I'm sure they could make you something. They are very good at accommodating different dietary needs, so when you're there if you don't see something you like you could always talk to the chef. :thumbsup2 We have the best server ever at the Yachtsman, his name is Ricardo and he was so friendly and funny and spent a half hour talking to us after we finished our meal. :goodvibes

[QUOTE=shippedtosea;33987947]I think i might have to listen and go with the ebay one. You don't think the etsy one is wider then the ebay ones? Its easier to tell that the etsy one is nice, makes me nervous that I cant see the ebay one before I buy but etsy is 3x as much!
[QUOTE]
I'd definatly say stick to the ebay one. If you're concerned still i'd check the sellers feedback... see what other brides have said about ordering veils from them. I dont think you'll be disappointed :goodvibes

3 out of 5 pages! woot! (I almost went to a party....but I convinced myself that would be a very bad idea and now my friend is very mad at me..)
Love your "everything by my HW update" LOL. I totally feel the same way...such a procrastinator! Anyway, I feel the same way about flats...I love shoes that are different! One thing I found is "shoe clips" which are pretty fun! Here is one example...I am sure there are a lot more out there:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_5&listing_id=31492350&ga_search_query=shoe+clips&ga_search_type=user_shop_ttt_id_7140017
I like the idea of shoe clips. they are super cute and super cheap....but still need shoes for them to go on! hahaha I have to decide. Why can't they make the same shows that are crazy high heels in flats? :confused3

Maybe I can use the "BUT its my Honeymoon!!" haha which their response probably would be..."then you should know better"
You are just the best! thanks for such a long awesome reply
Yeah I think i am going to bite the bullet! haha I am also only wearing it for the ceremony. that is if I wear it at all....still back and forth
I LOVE the shoes. but I feel like they may be too simple and I don't know if they would work with a shoe clip? My mom might tell me i'm crazy...maybe I can buy them anyway....I will still wear them even if its not for the wedding they are my type of shoe. I think its ironic how all the color available are my wedding colors! (I think I just want an excuse to buy them...)
I am very excited about Jiko and California!(fireworks!!!)
I wasn't completely set on Crystal Palace...I think I just like the building (or name...haha) you liked 1900 Park Fare? I wanted to do that and DF said no (I really don't know WHY?!) Must convince him then. I think he just wants to eat in the parks a lot. We were going to do Donald's as well (I love Donald he is my favorite!!) See this is why I shouldn't have done this by memory!!!
Hm...maybe I should call Artist point and see what I can do.
I'm disappoint about Spirit of Aloha....I was really looking forward to it. but so many people say no....just wanted a little Hawaii in our honeymoon! (we were originally going to Hawaii before we decided Disney was more us)
Is the lunch at Liberty Tree have characters or just good food? Thanks for all your suggestions! Now I have a lot more to think about!
I can't believe I forgot Cinderella's Royal table! we are SOOOOO doing that!!!
I'd definatly say stick to the ebay one. If you're concerned still i'd check the sellers feedback... see what other brides have said about ordering veils from them. I dont think you'll be disappointed :goodvibes
Thanks I think I will do that! Maybe it will be a treat to myself if I ever finish this stupid paper!!

Lol, I'm always too scared to try, I think they do have CM's guarding the area. Maybe I can walk really close to another family and pretend I'm with them! :rotfl2:
No problem, I love talking Disney food!
You know, DF didn't like 1900 Park Fare as much either and I'm not sure why. I really liked it and I thought the Mad Hatter was really funny and Alice was so sweet. He did love Tusker House though. Crystal Palace is really pretty and I liked the food, but I never got to meet Pooh, and every time we were next they would do that stupid parade and the characters would go away. :sad2:
We like Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, they don't have characters at all anymore which is a shame because I really liked it when they did and dinner is Thanksgiving food, so we prefer lunch. The food is good and it's a relaxing break and perfect for when we're in MK. :thumbsup2
If you really want to do the Luau, you should definitely do it. I've never been but I have read some not so great reviews. I think any meal at the Poly though could give you that Hawaiian feeling. At Kona or Ohana you can still get the big drinks in pineapples. ;)
The fireworks from California grill were cool, and you can also see fireworks from Citricos and Narcoosee's. We saw them like four nights in a row and DF was getting a little tired of it. He does a really silly impression of the Wishes song though.
Ooh you could also do Rose & Crown and sometimes they will seat you on the patio during Illuminations which is awesome! We had the best seat one time when we ate there, they also have an amazing potato soup!
If you'd wear the shoes anyway, just get them and then you can decide if they'll be your wedding shoes. ;) I think if you found the right shoe clip it could work.

No POOH!? hahaha that sucks...I guess we will have to see. what fits where. is the 1900 park fare really girly? I don't get it...why don't they like it? I guess I have to pick the best character dining..DF will kill me if thats all we have! haha we were also thinking Chef Mickeys for breakfast one day!
I'm going to have to look into Ohana and Kona...wasn't even thinking about them because I was set on the Luau. Which would you say is your fave? Ohana you get leis right? (that how you spell it?!)
You can NEVER get sick of fireworks. We were also going to request a room at WL that you could see them...but I decided that with all the other chances we will have to see them it was better to have a lake view.
I didn't realize the Rose and Crown had a patio! We went there is the daytime and ate in the front. Potato soup! Yum
Ya know me and DF sat one day and went through all the restaurants menus..guess we didn't look at all of them. I need more research! hehehe then I will update my list
Just figured out on December 11 we can start booking! love the new 180 days
I think I might have to just buy them! haha....oh poor me, I get more shoes!
