My BF and I are trying to make costumes for this year's MNSSHP. We are going to be some of the Harry Potter characters in their quidditch uniforms, but we are stuck on the names/numbers on the backs of the capes.

I don't really want to try iron on transfers because of the material of the capes (we bought it at Jo Ann's and it was just listed as costume fabric?) I don't wanna take a chance of ruining it somehow. So I was thinking of buying the letters and numbers that you can stitch on instead. The only ones I've found were at Jo Ann's (they were even gold like we need), but they were pretty small and expensive.

Does anyone know of any websites or sellers who has what I need and can help me out? Thanks!

Aside from Jo-ann's, I would try an independent sports store. The ones we have here often personalize sports wear and jackets, but I don't think they are cheap...:guilty:

Thanks for the response. Yeah, we kinda didn't want to go the very expensive route.

Right now I am thinking maybe we could buy some gold cloth, cut out the letters and numbers (hopefully they'd come out straight enough) and then just sew those onto the cape.

if you google letter patterns, there are some that you can download and then that will make it easy for you letters to be neat and straight!:)
