I hope it's okay to keep asking general camping questions here -- but this is the friendliest camp forum I've ever found!

In the TT I'm inheriting/buying in the fall, mice got in over the winter and chewed a very large hole in the pull-out sofa/air mattress. In my past experiences, once you get a hole in anything that's supposed to hold air or water, you're really out of luck -- nothing ever quite seals it. But I thought I'd ask if anyone had any secrets to mending it. It's not a tear or a slit -- it's a half-dollar sized hole! Ack!

I'm thinking we just need a new mattress... Thoughts?

In our experience, yep...it's done. You just can't ever get those patches to 100% seal up and so the darn things do the "slow leak" bit and by morning you're practically laying on the ground!

(By the way, I love your signature line!! That's me, too!:goodvibes )

Oh, boo! But that's about what I figured...just hoping someone had some magical, miracle cure that I had never, ever heard of before! :rotfl:

Thanks for confirming the diagnosis, though!

If your mattress in the house is comfortable,,put it in the TT and buy a new one for the house, :thumbsup2

You may be able to replace the sofa. Here is a rv furniture surplus store. They only sell new stuff. LINK (http://www.rvsurplussalvage.com/catalog/display.php?category_id=6)

The sad mattress is an air mattress for the couch, so I don't think I could do a swap. And our house mattress is a king-sized Tempurpedic; I think the weight of that sucker would blow the tires off the TT anyway! :rotfl: Thanks for the suggestion, though!
