View Full Version : Why doesn't the DDP have the refillable mug?

It's the only plan that doesn't! If you're paying more than QSDP, you'd think you'd get the refillable mug..........and maybe an extra snack credit!

I was going to get the DDP because we do want to do a couple character meals and try out Boma and Ohana but my boyfriend and I are stumped that it looks like we're not getting any added value and might just do QSDP and just do 1 character breakfast OOP:confused3

They don't need to -- basic DDP is still the most popular package, and as such, they can get away without having to "sweeten" the deal any further.

Table service credits aren't added value? That's what the extra cost is for on the DDP-instead of being limited to two counter service meals every day, you get a table service meal. And we pay far less for that table service meal with the dining plan than we would it we paid cash. If they included the refillable mug, the price would undoubtedly go up even more...and a lot of people have no interest in the refillable mug. We had it with the DxDDP last January and used it exactly once...right before we left WDW for the road trip home. Other than that we thought it was too much of a hassle to carry it around. Wouldn't pay for one & glad they don't include it in the regular dining plan because we'd be paying more for something we wouldn't even use.

Don't worry...when they realize they can "make an extra buck" by adding it they will add it as yet another dining plan--disney dining plus mug or something silly like that. They'll add yet another dollar per day charge ($2 charge during the "peak" season") and confuse us even more!:rotfl2:

Exactly - they "give" you only what they have to in order to keep you coming back for more - nothing else...

I don't see how a mug would be the deciding factor in getting the plan?? I've never had the urge to ever buy one of those. I'm not at the hotel enough to use it. Besides, if you're eating at the food court, your drink is included in your QS credit.

It's about $40 per adult for the standard dining plan. Most table service meals are going to cost you that anyway. So if you plan to have one of those each day (or more than one on a couple days), then basically your CS and snacks are free. That's the way I look at it, anyway! And we DO LOVE a TS a day!!!!

The mug is included with the deluxe dining plan.... If on the other plans, it's about $14, a good bargain even if you only fill it a few times. We filled our mugs with coffee and took them to the parks on early mornings. I used the mug a lot last year but we probabably won't much this time because the deluxe plan has 2 snacks a day per person.... we will probably keep some drinks in the room. I've been using last year's mug every day to take coffee to work -- it's great just for that.

For 8 nights, and 3 people, we have 24 table services (or counter, my choice), plus 48 snacks during our stay. All of our meals are table services with appetizer, entree, drink, dessert. I made ADRs for 3 signature restaurants and a show (2 credits each) because I just cannot eat 3 meals a day and that much food.....I will be extreme dieting the next couple months to make room. I'm sure there will be snacks leftover to buy candybars to take home, and lots of desserts in our hotel fridge that we didn't eat at dinner. Late night dessert is better for me anyway.

We're probably going to just do the QSDP. We used refillable mugs this year and it was worth the money as we refill alot! Plus, my boyfriend said he's really only interested intrying out Boma and a character meal so we'll just do OOP for those 2. We don't HAVE to do a TS a day. Plus, my daughter REALLY wanted 2 snack credits a day! LOL Gotta love 11 year olds!

if you're going the same dates as me you can have our two mugs from the DxDDP. I see no use for them whatsoever and know we won't use them cause we're never at the resort! That and I HATE the coffee lol
