can you help me identify some pin please? I just ordered some and they came today, but as usual there are a few I can't find. Also need to get myself a magnify glass.
Red head fairy from the Tinker Bell Movie, she is sitting.
Minnie Pirate standing next to a barrel, in front of pole, yielding a sword. The back is gold and covered in Mickey heads and reads Authentic Official Pin Trading Disney Parks (I think 2009) Disney China.
Small square pin, red background Mickey Hand pointing, Hidden Mickey Pin 5 of 5 (I think 2006)
Small Mickey all black except face and wearing red shorts. Back is gold and covered in Mickey heads and reads the same as Minnie Pirate.
Is this the fairy?

Thanks Nancy
Yes Minnie, no fairy, and no Mickey hand.
Fairy not the red head and looking at the others, the one I have is not any of them. Hair could be light brown. She is wearing a leaf hat, brown boots, and a long green flowing dress.
Mickey hand, index finger and thumb sticking out. Date could be 2008.
Also the small Mickey has both arms raised. Am thinking he could be part of a boxed pin set.
Man this is hard.

hmmmmm....
What does the back of the Mickey pin read?
If I were to just take a stab in the dark to me he looks like a rag doll pin from Japan. (Not that I know there is such a series. But that is what he looks like.)
I tried searching under Mickey doll, and nada. I will keep looking.
I have seen newer pins with the stamped MM heads on the back. Maybe he is a rack pin from WDW. However I have not seen it yet.

A close up of that Mickey pin makes him look more like a cookie. Gingerbread Mickey. :confused3
Taking photos is difficult. They glare a lot. I scan mine for Pinpics, add the pin and send the scan as a file. They clean it up and resize for me.
Plus from what I have heard the mods at Pinpics can post a larger photo than us regular folks. My scanner seems to wash the color out though. The background makes a lot of difference too.

Has me stumped. Those are so hard to find. First more than Mickey is needed for a description. It could be Glove, Hand, Parts, Clothing.... And maybe nothing related. :headache: Could even be a bootleg or something made into a pin. (I have even found earrings on CM lanyards. :sad2: )
Is the finish a regular looking pin? Epoxy coated?
Could also be it is not in Pinpics. You could try adding it. During the process you will get a list of pins already in Pinpics that are similar in description. You may be able to find it that way. If not add it, and see if anyone posts any comments about it.

The old ones sometimes don't have a backstamp. They also are often kind of yellowed with age, or not the best quality. (Older pins when pins were just a small marketing space filler. :rotfl2: )
Just as a little pin trivia -- Do you know how the pins/trading got started big?
With the celebration Future Hand in Hand.
Pin trading -- Celebrate the future from my hand to your hand. :wizard:
Of course some of the pins near the start of the pin trading craze were Cloisonne. Good luck finding pins made of that now. Probably not gonna happen.
The cloisonne pins have a glass quality sheen look to them. Rather than the painted we see now.

Hi
Can I be nosey & ask you guys if you buy in bulk from ebay?
I really want to buy a bulk lot for my trip (I am new to pin trading but am hooked on buying them already ) but don't know who to trust on ebay as I know you can get a load of fake one's.
Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
Are there any pin exchanges coming up soon? It was the last one on here that got me hooked, so you are all to blame. :rotfl2: ;)

Please only order from the green sellers, or yellow if you know scrappers from real pins. eBay is a great place to buy pins, but we don't want to clog the lanyards with scrappers ;). Everyone on the Collector's Board is pitching into this list. Hope it helps you!
