Sunscreen by the drum?

Knowing that many of the activities on a cruise can be outside, I realize that mass quantities of sunscreen are needed. I am looking for some best estimates for the amount I need to bring for a family of 5 for the 7 day cruise in November. I can almost picture myself carrying a case of sunscreen aboard along with everything else! :jester:

We have a family of five and I usually bring one large bottle each of 30, 15, 8.

I usually take two or three bottles. This is one thing that costs twice as much if you run out, so I alway think for us that i take more than we need.

Don't forget your sunscreen SPRAY for those braided heads!

Make sure you re-apply after swimming in the ocean. the saltwater will strip even waterproof sunscreen off.:eek:

We, too, are a family of 5. I usually buy my sunscreen at Costco where it is the cheapest but the largest size. I took 4 bottles on our 5/18 cruise -- 2 each of 45 spf and 2 each of 30 spf. Remember to apply at least 20 minutes before you go in the sun and reapply after swimming. The sun is brutal in the Caribbean. HTH.

I just read an article that stated that most people use way too little sunscreen when they apply it. You are supposed to put a very good coating on. The article suggested that if you don't like to apply it thickly, to apply a thin layer multiple times.
