Good Morning everyone!
So what do you think - I'd like to hear your opinions! If you could only choose one deluxe resort for a short stay in early Dec - which would you choose based on Christmas atmosphere and decorations?
Thanks very much!

We are thinking about the same thing. My understanding is that the decorations at the WL and the AKL are amazing. So we are torn between those two right now.

Grand Floridian- It is our favorite to stay at during the holiday season. The lobby is awesome.

Haven't seen the AK: at Christmas; but have seen most of the other deluxe. We stayed a few days at the WL last December. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! They have a HUGE tree in the lobby and garland on the balconies around the lobby. Then there is that great fireplace - just adds to the season. WL gets my vote.

The Grand Floridian! AKL and WL are also decorated nicely, but the Grand Floridian really spends a lot of time and money creating a true showplace. :)

I think a lot of it depends on what really makes you feel in the Christmas spirit... is it a beautiful Victorian theme, or is it a cozy lodge with a fireplace? For me, it's the Wilderness Lodge, but that's because I love feeling like I'm in the mountains. But, the Grand Floridian is also very beautiful. Most of the resort decorations are fantastic, but some are better than others. I think either the GF or the Wilderness Lodge are the two best though.

Wilderness Lodge with the Grand Floridian as a close second.

I think it's a tie between WL and GF!
Does anyone have links to pictures of these two at Christmas? I'd love to see some.
Thanks again.
Oh, I did a search and found some good ones at laughingplace.com :)

I've seen most of the resorts at one time or another during the holidays, and I must say that the AKL and BW are both incredible.
Many ooh and ah over the GF, but frankly I find their decorations to be a little over the top.
BC/YC are nice, but nearly as awesome as AKL and BW.

Does not include Animal Kingdom Lodge though (wasn't open then).

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your opinions and the links. Going to go take a look at them. The absolute hardest part always for me in going to Disney World is choosing the resort - but hey if that's the worst problem I have I know I'm a lucky girl :)
Have a good day.

We don't care for the Victorian theme at Grand Floridian. It is nice, but just a little too fancy for us. However, Wilderness Lodge is just AWESOME!!! In fact, we enjoyed the decorations so much that we are planning to have dinner at Artist Point on Christmas Day just so we can see the Lodge. Love it!!!

I like the Grand, and I like it even more at Christmas! It's got such a beautiful tree, incredible decorations .. it's just perfect! I also like the WL a lot, and the YC..

I agree the 2 best resorts for Christmas decorations are WL and GF, but last yr at Christmas I found the GF to be much more decorated than WL. WL was nice but GF really went all out. They were the only resort last yr to have the gingerbread house(it used to be all the resorts had some type of gingerbread house) and it was beautiful. I think WL has more of a Christmas feel but IMO GF has more decorations for Christmas.

Last year we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn in mid November when the Christmas decorations were mostly up. The night we arrived the resort was bare and then the next morning we got up and there were decorations everywhere! I thought it was really nice, but I haven't seen the GF or the WL to compare. :)
