This past weekend I hosted a Mad Tea Party for my sister's bridal shower this weekend and just wanted to share a few pictures in case anyone was looking for inspiration! I know this board helped me a lot in my planning :-)

My mother, cousin, friend and I made the cake! It took us four hours just to decorate it! I think it was well worth it though :-)

The favors were personalized tea bags with tea bag rests

My mother and I arranged the flowers. They were arranged in tea cup shaped plant holders.

For the centerpieces we had little trees with red and white roses in them for "painting the roses red". Some tables had silly tin birds that were representative of the birds Alice used for croquet. We also had a croquet set over by the drink table just for decoration. We put tea pots on all of the tables filled with water and we tied "drink me" tags on them. We also had sandwich tiers set around the tent with "eat me" tags tied to them. We made giant playing cards made from poster board and construction paper.

The party was a big hit! We asked everyone to wear their "maddest hats" and just about everyone did! I hope these pictures are a help to anyone planning a Mad Tea Party!

Thank you!! I had so much fun planning this party and now I am so sad that it is over! At least we still have the wedding to look forward to :-)

Great job, did you make the "poofs" hanging from the roof of the tent?

Thank you! Erin.w- yes I did they are just made from tissue paper and hung with fishing wire. We tied fishing wire to all four corners from the center of the tent and then went around with the ladder and tied the lanterns and tissue paper pom poms onto that wire at all different heights and lengths. They were pretty easy to make! Just fold the tissue paper like an accordion and cut the edges either rounded or pointy, then twist wire around the middle and fluff them out! Martha Stewart sells a kit for them as well.
